IMAGINE what could have been. John Lennon would have been 70 years old on this date had he not been murdered by a wicked madman stalking him and shooting him dead outside his New York City residence on that tragic Monday night, December 8, 1980.
He was a hero to the first real TV generation who met him playing with the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and were shocked to hear of his death watching Monday Night Football getting the dreadful word from Howard Cossell.
In between, we were treated to some of the most incredible and imaginative pop music of all time.
As popular and controversial today as he was during his time, his music will forever be immortal.
