Anthony Weiner -- What's in a Name???

Alan Grayson's gone, but for a fellow whose New York 9th congressional district almost borders directly on Coney Island, this wiener is no Nathan's hot dog, he's just a whiny little dick head as the video so marvelously demonstrates.

Why is Anthony Weiner a dick head?  Should we try to be more civil?

We'll answer the second question first, in his snotty universe civility does not exist. How often has this prick been on news programs and after being given every opportunity to get his say in smirks, giggles, sneers, and shouts over other speakers on the panel never missing an opportunity to get a sarcastic jab or a demeaning insult thrown into to disruption.

This is a fellow who shouts down his colleagues on the floor of the house and interrupts news interviews in progress even the person and reporter involved are speaking on subjects that don't please him.

When it comes to any kind of mature, civilized, or respectful behavior Anthony Weiner exhibits none. Polite language fails us. On his best behavior, he's an obnoxious prick. More often than not he's a full blown dick head.

There was a time the position of congressman automatically commanded some measure of respect, but those days were long gone when the Brooklyn congressman arrived on the scene but from the get go this smart ass has proven himself hellbent on dragging things down to new lows.

Looking at his political positions -- he's as ultra-left as they come but from the most incredibly cynical point of view -- no naive idealism to be sure. It's his mission to identify those whose assets can be fleeced and redistributed elsewhere. Additionally, his economic policies are anti-business, anti-entrepreneurship, and certainly not ones that would solve any compelling issues like energy independence. While Anthony Weiner could be filed under the heading of "tax and spend liberal" he does so with such a passion and with such hatred towards those who are driving the economy, developing innovations, controlling government spending and helping our country reach toward the future as the most technologically advance country in the world. He would never trust that inventors or entrepreneurs can go about their business without the government supervising them every step of the way.

The basic equation is that a strong regulatory government needs to put its foot on the throat of anyone who can function independently. Only the government can determine who should be doing what and who gets what -- of course they are generally special interest groups who provide the backbone of the Democratic party.

The son of a lawyer and a public school math teacher, Weiner's first job out of college was working for (SURPRISE, SURPRISE) Congressman Chuck Schumer. Schumer mentored the little Weiner to pursue local politics and at 27, became the youngest member of the New York City council. When Chuck Schumer unseated incumbent Senator D'Amato victimized by the notorious Putzheaad scandal. Weiner ran to succeed Schumer and has maintained that position ever since. He has been one of the most aggressive pursuers of the government takeover of American health care. His staff has one of the highest turnover rates on Capitol Hill -- working for a dickhead, that should be of no surprise.

While such a loathsome bastard would make a great target for obliteration in congressional elections, his district is about as absolutely pure Democrat as a district could be. It's quite likely his antics are just fine with lots of the folk who elected the little Weiner to congress.

We regret that our blog just barely shows the degree of contempt Anthony Weiner so richly deserves. As long as his staunch advocacy of income redistribution coupled with his vicious, mean spirited conduct continue we can at least shower him in the contempt he deserves: Anthony Weiner, New York Congressman, District 9, long standing nominee for "dickhead of the year."

Disgruntled Workers of the World Unite -- Obama Has Lawyers for You!!!

If you don’t like your boss, Barack Obama’s administration wants YOU to sue their asses. That’s right – if you don’t like your boss, they’ll even set you up with a lawyer on a contingency basis. They describe this as part of their “Middle Class Initiative.”

Here are the details courtesy of Fox news.
http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/2011/02/04/white-house-launches-new-aba-hotline-labor-dept/

That Barack Obama would support such a thoroughly ridiculous policy is very revealing. First, it embraces that the employee/manager relationship is inherently adversarial. This notion is the fundamental assumption of Marxism – the dialectic between those who control the means of production against those who do the producing.

According to Labor Department statistics, over 40,000 employees call each year with gripes about their bosses but because of budget constraints (in Obama language that means the government is not spending enough money) only 10% receive service. Thus the administration is working with the American Bar Association (ABA) to provide a toll-free number to connect the grievous workers with lawyers where typical issues supposedly often deal with minimum wage, overtime, and family medical leave. The administration’s pitch states, “a new effort between the federal government and private bar to assist complainants who may need help with worker rights.”

The absurdity of this system is beyond belief. For all the pressures put on business by government mandate which especially hit hard on small businesses on tight margins struggling to survive, this confrontational legalistic Marxist approach, introduces the high probability of frivolous lawsuits which no matter how lacking in merit can still run up tremendous expenses in legal fees in defense of such idiocy. The history of this administration has thrown some lip service to the plight of small businesses but in reality nails them to the wall such as working to comply with Obama “care.” For the world of organized labor, such provisions of how to handle such disputes are handled by the labor bureaucracy while such companies have legal departments for the explicit purpose of dealing with such assaults. With this in mind, this law clearly targets non-union shops and where are most of the non-union shops – among the ranks of small to medium businesses. Even before the Obama administration, no Federal department has more lawyers other than the Justice Department than the Department of Labor.

Clearly most employee/management disputes are communication problems. Only in the rarest instances are employers purposely or knowingly acting illegally against their employees. Often employees might feel ill-prepared to address their supervisors, not know what to say, or simply have an attitude which translates into blame against their bosses. Larger companies have human relations staffs which help provide a nonthreatening stage which helps provide constructive intervention.

The bottom line is if workers feel they are being treated unfairly, it is there responsibility to put up or shut up. The tough question is are they truly committed to doing what’s expected of them or are they looking for loopholes to leach off of their employers because they do not possess positive attitudes toward work and have personal values with a strong work ethic.

Employees who are not being paid minimum wage, do not receive overtime, or are forced to do things that are contrary to labor law surely deserve justice. Perhaps some stage of mediation would be appropriate. Often it would simply be clarifying to the employee or maybe the employer what the appropriate guidelines are. To immediately call out the heavy artillery of the legal system is a dreadful overreach, Marxist philosophy in its most basic form.

So if this were necessary, how about this? If the employee loses his case, then he will be held responsible for reimbursing his employer for the employer's legal fees and time spent in preparation for the initiated legal proceedings?  The possibility of abuse and frivolous lawsuits cannot be underestimated.

George Soros and Friends Assault to Destroy Tea Party Movement

George Soros's big fat wallet and the usual suspects are at it again...

The radical left is at it again. Their obsession against the average middle class American has reached a new level of hysteria as they attempt to go all out to destroy the Tea Party movement.

Those who consider themselves, the mainstream in American politics and media, simply cannot accept the legitimacy of the Tea Party Movement. In truth, their agenda is anything but mainstream or what the majority of Americans support, but as the messenger they are struggling to control the message and bashing the Tea Party movement is essential for them to maintain their supremacy.

A coalition of the NAACP, Center for American Progress – a leftist group led by former Clinton associate, John Podesta, Media Matters – assembled by organizers of MoveOn.org to attempt to discredit any media reports that criticize their cause are all united to form another George Soros funded operation, Think Progress, whose first main operation will be “TeaPartyTracker.org with the intent to monitor “racism and other forms of extremism within the Tea Party movement.”

This is on the heels of a unanimous resolution on July 13th from the NAACP’s national convention which condemned the Tea Party as a racist organization.

For the radical left – as in the new face of the Democratic Party, most major news networks and many newspapers, and the elites in entertainment and academia, the notion of a grassroots movement is their property. A movement that comes up with a groundswell of support from the population must inherently be leftwing because all issues that negatively effect the population must be “progressive” concerns.

Much to their dismay, when the forces they’ve supported for so long have taken the reigns of power with a President more left-wing and socialistic than even the most well-established leaders in Europe, the heart and soul of the American people accustomed to individual freedom, free enterprise, and limited government would rise up against the collectivist ideals of the Obama Administration supported in the Senate by Harry Reid and fanatically embraced by House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. With a multibillion dollar bailout package that did little to serve the unemployed but instead being a goody-bag for a wide variety of left-wing causes – organized labor, leftist activists groups, and other key elements of the radical left, the public quickly reacted in anger. Add to that the government takeover of General Motors, Chrysler, and a large chunk of the banking industry, the march forward toward a state controlled economy was underway and the people were disturbed. When the government moved to take over the health care industry passing a bill which few who voted for it understood anything but the very basics, the anger boiled over into public confrontations as prior to the heavy brokered vote, angry citizens lit up their elected leaders who dared support the bill. Adding insult to injury, ACORN, a nationwide syndicate of corrupt supposedly community based organizations, an environment from which Obama’s political career emerged, was shown to be thoroughly corrupt on many levels but none the less were one of the key organizations that would get massive handouts from the bailout goody bag.

That the American people won’t accept such massive changes imposed upon them by a power-starved corrupt band of leftist politicians could only have one underlying cause to the radical left: the American people are racist. Their driving force is not rational thought or sincerely held values, but nothing less than loathsome racism refusing to accept mandates from a multiracial President.

As such, it has become an obsession with the left to prove their thesis, though evidence of such is non-existent. They point to a demonstration at the Capitol as congress rushed into the building to vote on the health care bill where angry words were exchanged and they maintained that there were some racial taunts, but where’s the evidence? There are no tapes, no videos, and no photographs. Further, it is no secret that MoveOn.org among other left wing groups have been recruiting infiltrators to mingle in with Tea Party events to attempt to stir up a scene.

Sadly, most Americans are not aware of the man behind the scene, George Soros, one of the world’s most corrupt and wicked figures who is attempting to use his massive wealth to slander legitimate institutions and use the media, the Internet, and organizing campaigns to forward an extreme leftwing agenda. Because they are sympathetic to Soros and perhaps fear his reprisals, the mainstream media will seldom even mention him as anything other than a wealthy philanthropist in their reportage.

So they are at it again, a massive smear campaign aimed to destroy those who don’t tow their line. Soon, lies and fabrications will be reported as fact as they attempt to use charges of racism and demanding the Tea Party respond to their criticism to get them off their objectives.

Up until now, no term could be more demonizing than to brand someone as racist; however, the term is being thrown about so freely so often against people who clearly are anything but wickedly prejudiced, its attack value will soon lose its punch while the real scourges of racial oppression move on in areas which are under the Democratic party’s control where things are run by the rules they’ve created. The prime example, obviously, is the retched conditions of urban school systems where despite huge increases in funding continue to produce every increasingly unsatisfactory results. Lord forbid the government would get tough with the corrupt and powerful urban teachers’ unions. What could be more seriously racist than building a political system which imposes a school system totally incapable of satisfying the needs of providing all children a quality education?

Who are those on the left wing to make accusations on any issue regarding finances, morality, or social justice when their efforts don’t work and are at best misguided but in truth an all out attempt to centralize power in the hands of an elite few who answer to nobody.

There's No Escaping O-boo-boo's Anti-Business Rhetoric

LIAR, LIAR (We won't pussy-foot around, WE DO WANT O-BOO-BOO TO FAIL.)

Here’s some stuff from the Obama Facebook page. Do you “like” this? Are you “friends” with this? You might as well be standing behind the manure spreader.

From the O-boo-boo Facebook page, Sunday, May 2, 2010

Quoting the big farce himself:
“What we're facing is no less than a potential corporate takeover of our elections, and what's at stake is no less than the integrity of our democracy.”

The blurb for the link to his weekly address states:
In the wake of a recent Supreme Court ruling, which gives special interests, corporations – and potentially foreign nationals – the power to spend unlimited money to influence the outcome of elections, President Obama calls on Congress to enact reforms to protect the integrity of our democracy.

Reality Check:
How much money did the Obama regime raise from Goldman Sachs?

If integrity of democracy is their game, how can they support such things as “card check” in union votes where the principle of a confidential private ballot is eliminated?

And just what limits are there imposed on union contributions, 527’s funded by billionaires like George Soros whose money filters into left wing hate groups like MoveOn.org?

How is the old Chicago shakedown used to raise funds and gain support for key political positions?

Corporate America, we need you. We need your jobs. We need your products.

When corporate America screws up, they loose business and eventually go out of business. When the government screws up, they raise taxes to give us even more of a failing solution. Only with government ownership, can an organization be losing business, producing lousy service, and raise prices – that’s the postal service.

Accept nothing from this administration. We must fight the socialist enemy. Their lies must be exposed. Their destructive politics must be countered. We cannot have the very institutions that provide us our standard of living be constantly bad mouthed and criticized for being involved in a process that under the current regime is destroying them.

How dare O-boo-boo talk about “integrity” of democracy. Anyone who is as well studied in “The Handbook for Radicals” is well trained in how to thwart the process and slime their way in.

Get ready for November. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!!

Obama Believes He Knows Who Makes Too Much Money

Somehow it seems ironic that we should report this on May 1st. After all, May Day is the great day of celebration for the world wide socialist movement, and we’re looking at some very revealing words from their most powerful adherent, Barack Obama, who absolutely showed his true stripes with a little impromptu comment. (We’ve learned that his impromptu remarks are far more revealing – such as “The Cambridge Police acted stupidly” and back on the campaign his spread the wealth around remarks that made Joe the Plumber famous.)

Here it is – what’s left to say – in his own words…

"Now, what we're doing, I want to be clear, we're not trying to push Financial Reform because we begrudge success that's fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."

Every right minded person must make sure these words will live in infamy and cost Barack Obama dearly even more so than elder Bush’s “read my lips” comment harmed him. While talking off-the-prompter this week pushing financial reform and demonizing Republicans for their deliberate approach, once again the former Chicago organizer, friend of William Ayers, and congregant of Jeremiah Wright reveals his true character. For those not comfortable with calling Obama a socialist, what is a socialist?

We’d like to know who Barack Obama thinks makes too much money. Would it be Warren Buffett or George Soros, billionaires who could buy half the countries in the world? Would it be Hollywood stars who make over $20 million a film but spend most of their time lounging around their palaces of excise in Malibu and Beverly Hills?

Where this writer comes from, we might suggest Mark Teixeira’s contract with the Yankees. How about public school teachers in the Washington, DC area who make more than $100k not for their teaching prowess but simply for their longevity reaching the top of the pay scale?

We’d also suggest tons of government workers who do little but waste our tax dollars well represented by SEIU. Has anyone needed a lawyer lately? Check out legal fees these days. How about the situation in California where the state teeters on bankruptcy. Their obligation to unionized state workers and their out-of-site benefits package has the state handcuffed.

We think we know who Obama has in mind, folks who make a lot of money through being successful in the corporate world.

The bottom line – the American way to do it is to let the market decide who makes what.

For those who still haven’t had their wake up call, these words this week should serve notice. While the debate whether the label, socialist, fits Obama, his sentiments are absolutely against free enterprise on a very gut level.

We can’t let these infamous words fade into the background. Obama must wear these like a scarlet letter.

ACORN Chief, Bertha Lewis, Clearly Reveals Organization's Insanity

x
Think about George Orwell and the big lie as you read this...
x
Would it be of any surprise to anyone that the leader of ACORN is a total idiot whose assessment of national affairs is as stupid as it is dishonest? Speaking to an audience of Young Democrat Socialists a branch of Socialist International, she called the Tea Party Movement, the “Bowel” movement, and went on to say, “They are coming. And they’re coming after you.”

Nothing is more obvious than spreading false paranoia in an audience of idiots. She went on to say,

“Any group that says, 'I'm young, I'm Democratic, and I'm a socialist,' is all right with me. You know that's no light thing to do -- to actually say, I'm a socialist -- because you guys know right now we are living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era. It is going to dwarf the internment during World War II. We are right now in a time that is going to dwarf the era of Jim Crow and segregation," then going on to say, “This is not rhetoric or hyperbole -- this is real. This rise of this Tea Party so-called movement -- bowel movement in my estimation -- and this blatant uncovering and ripping off the mask of racism."

We could laugh at her delusions if her audience weren’t real and there is a constituency that takes her nonsense seriously. Is it any wonder that ACORN is in such disarray and so criminally corrupt?

We must also continuously remind ourselves that Barack Obama’s orientation to how things operate is through his direct involvement with ACORN serving as their lawyer in Chicago, training them, and advancing their cause for many years. Ideologically and practically, demagogues like Lewis have a friend in the White House. Any argument that Barack Obama is not a Socialist or at very least not someone who actively supports socialist ideals is simply not facing up to hard cold reality.

The entire ACORN culture must be destroyed. Their crimes must be prosecuted. Their beliefs and ideals must be discredited. The communities they have ripped off and exploited claiming to represent deserve better. We all do.

The Government Seizure of Health Care: IT IS NOW WAR

MESSAGE TO THE DEMOCRATS AND SPECIAL INTERESTS WHO SUPPORTED THIS: THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY. YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR UNAMERICAN, FILTHY ATTEMPT TO SUBVERT DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES AND SEIZE CONTROL OF THAT WHICH BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE.
x

The House of Representatives passed the Nancy Pelosi sponsored 200o plus page legislation that effectively destroys the right to private health care, nationalizes the industry, and has an initial price tag of $1.2 trillion mindful that major government programs, particularly ones involving human services always far exceed initial estimates by huge margins.
x
The vote was 200-215 with 39 Democrats voting against the measure. One Republican, Joseph Cao of Louisiana, betrayed his party and the American people and voted for a measure that more than any measure in the history of our Republic pushes the United States of America from a representative democracy based on free enterprise and private ownership to a state controlled, centralized authoritarian socialist system.
x
The dangers to every working American is staggering. Likewise, for senior citizens already forced onto national medical service, the damage could be far worse.
x

We must unite and assure every official in Washington, supporting this measure is political suicide as it transforms the very nature of our country to what generations have fought to keep avoid.
x
The correct approach is to identify specific areas in need of reform and solving the problem with the parties most directly affected involved to correct each issue one by one.
x
Nationalizing one of the most crucial segments of our economy and day-to-day life is unacceptable. We must identify every way possible to cast aside this horrendous scheme and destroy it.
x
We cannot allow these horrible programs ever to go into effect. Any Senator contemplating supporting this measure had better be shaking in his boots because there will be hell to pay for supporting this.

How ironic it is as the Democrats have their group celebration that Nancy Pelosi should be wearing a red dress the same color as the red flags of communism. It is surprising that Charlie Rangel, under investigation for a lengthy list of tax evasion charges and other ethical lapses, would address the crowd as part of the celebration.
x
The big lie is that they contend affordable health "care" for all. We've heard for weeks all the various ways they intend to raise funds that will cost all of us directly and indirectly to pay for it. Meanwhile, the original intent, insurance for all, still leaves a huge number of Americans still outside the system.
x
We mustn't lie about this. It's a huge power grab, an attempt as Barack Obama assured his intention was to transform American society. Our column has cited some of the dangers socialized medicine will do to our society. We will continue to highlight just what a horrible day in American history this is.
x
Finally, we single out Nancy Pelosi as one of the most hateful disgusting figures ever to advance to a high level in American government. She is a ruthless liar, emotionally unbalance ideologue who has played the system to protect her special interests while causing grave harm to the rest of us.
x
Saturday night, November 7, 2009 is a night to be remembered. This scourge to American society was rushed through and enacted before our country could even pour through the pages and pages of stipulations all of which will create a bureaucratic quagmire that perhaps only the Soviet Union in its heyday could imagine.
x
We damn the Democrats and special interests groups who inflicted on this. There will be a huge price to pay. This will be the greatest struggle and division of our country since the civil war and what's at stake is darned close to being just as grave. Medicine is a life and death issue and we choose to live.
x
We will not tolerate the lies and deceptions. We will not tolerate the seizure of our basic rights. We will not have our free enterprise system shutdown with a socialist bureaucracy imposed.
x
This is war. It started late in the evening on Saturday night when most of America was engaged in the good life. It's time to get beyond anger and take to the streets and do what ever it takes to keep our free enterprise system free and our medical system private. There is no other choice. There will be hell to pay.

Nobel Peace Prize: A JOKE!!!

Bullshit!!

Can anybody still take the Nobel Peace Prize any more seriously than the results of some random survey conducted by a talk show host or Internet blogger?

As if awarding Al Gore the prize for his work on global warming, today’s award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama citing "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” makes the whole status it implies even more laughable. If Obama’s dreadful first few months in office where surely none of his actions have achieved any positive results aren’t bad enough, the truth behind this award is the deadline for submissions was February 1st when Obama had only been in office for a matter of days!

Oh but high atop the Norwegian Ivory Tower where the affairs of the real world never ascend, such a possibility is real. Consider the justification from Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Committee who stated, “Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future.”

We’re aware of what out-of-touch elitism is in the United States when we consider some of the insane pronouncements emanating from some of our elite institutions where political correctness and radical socialist agendas run wild. These are places where the big shots have never had their hands in the real world of running businesses, meeting payrolls, or balancing budgets. They live in a world of “shoulds” and what they think is good for everyone else where the extremely smart like-minded learned elites know what’s good for everybody else and should be able to tell us what’s good for us and influence governments that will do the same.

If the climate isn’t silly enough in America, it’s absolutely crazier in Europe where the countries themselves are spared some of the hard realities of world politics and economics living under the safety net afforded by the NATO membership not their European Union affiliation protected by the United States military paid for by American taxpayers. The ultimate hypocrisy is those elitists who preach their creed of globalism, disarmament criticizing the United States for being too bellicose are able to enjoy their safe little spot in the sun because it is America’s willingness to do their dirty work that keeps them free and safe.

Who liberated Europe from the Nazi’s? Who stared down the Soviet Union resulting in the liberation of Eastern Europe? The contributions to the comfy world of the high minded European elites rooted in American sacrifice and hard work goes far deeper than these.

It should not be seen surprising the Nobel academy would be fascinated with Barack Obama. He’s their perfect poster child. Finally, they can unite behind an American leader who is as radical as they are. He shares the same contempt for the capitalist system, military might, and Yankee ingenuity that they do.

Where was Barack Obama when freedom was on the march in Iran? When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stole the election then butchered those who dared protest his corrupt wicked behavior, where was the powerful condemnation and cry for freedom? Naturally, Barack Obama appreciates the benefits of organizations that tinker with the election process given his close association with ACORN who’ve registered dead citizens and Sponge Bob as voters.

Where does Obama stand on the political situation in Honduras? Barack Obama supports the legitimacy of Jose Manuel Zelaya who corrupted the political process attempting to seize power beyond the constitutional authority granted him establishing himself a Hugo Chavez style dictator. Having done such, Zelaya was ousted from power as part efforts of the legislature and Supreme Court of the South American republic to preserve their Democratic system. Rather than supporting the legal process in Honduras, Obama supports the attempt of a left-wing potential dictator.

Between failing to support attempts to achieve freedom and playing soft with dictators, how can anyone see Barack Obama as truly an advocate of freedom and peace?

If ever an American President would deserve a peace prize, that award would have gone to Ronald Reagan who stood firm against the Soviet Union and through his efforts helped generate the movement that liberated all the nations held in brutal oppression behind the Iron curtain. That Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and others enjoy modern democratic societies and the joys of freedom are due in large part to Reagan’s leadership.

What do the chattering intellectuals think of Reagan’s efforts to promote freedom? They will site his “illegal” efforts to support the Nicaraguan contras attempting to cast off the Communist regime of Daniel Ortega and that somehow those pursuits were evil.

To citizens of the real world, the Nobel Prize should mean absolutely nothing. That Barack Obama would win such an award should be no cause for celebration or signify any accomplishment of merit. The award is no more consequential than the Time Magazine “Man of the Year” or the latest winner of the MTV video awards.

The Nobel Peace Prize is an award granted by the absolute highest level of detached elitists recognizing those who’ve done the most to serve as mouthpieces for the nonsensical philosophies they preach.

For every Afghani woman who is allowed to show her face in public and not be stuffed away in a Burka, for every Iraqi who needn’t fear torture and death at the hands of Saddam Hussein, for the thousands of AIDS victims who were provided treatment, their much reviled villain in their eyes of George W. Bush would have made a great candidate to receive the award if it meant anything based on his eight years of service focused on freedom and helping some of the most hurting people in the world.
How about the way Barack Obama slighted the Dali Llama to appease the Communist Chinese?

If the Nobel Prize weren’t spoken of in such high esteem, today’s award would be nothing more than a stupid laughing matter.

Stay tuned for the heaps of praise that awaits Obama in the news media in the days to come.

Barack Obama states "I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century." He also said he'll donate his 1.4 million dollar award to charity. What kind of left wing nuts might receive that loot? It looks like ACORN might need some coin to go after those kids who revealed them for what they are.

God only knows what kind of results he envisions.

What Makes Obama Different -- Some Basic Socialist Essentials and More

We’ve heard a lot of terms used to describe Barack Obama’s political orientation: liberal, radical, socialist, opportunist, among others. Most of these are quite appropriate though “liberal” in the classic sense is way too mild a description of what kinds of beliefs and policies he believes.

Perhaps the most important distinction that is not being developed is that Barack Obama is an ideologue, a true believer in his cause where what is all important is his ability to use the power of the office of President of the United States to transform American society from the capitalistic, free enterprise system governed by a limited constitutional republic into a government of centralized authority where the Federal Government directs the priorities and scope of operation of the private sector and where the government determines what individual needs are justified. Once established, all Americans will be provided those needs and those who are deemed to have too much will face massive confiscation of their assets to be used to finance the greater role of government and to be redistributed to the public he deems deserving.

These perceptions are not that of a conservative writer. These come from Barack Obama’s own words, many of which were more revealing before he attempted to adapt his rhetoric to something easier to sell to get elected.

Barack Obama asserted he would rather be a one term President if that meant being able to accomplish his objectives. This viewpoint was reasserted by his spokesman, Robert Gibbs again this week. What is implicit in this position?

First, forget about the campaign rhetoric about being post-partisan willing to unite divided factions. His conduct so far has shown unwillingness to compromise and to write out Republican influence using House Speaker Pelosi as his enforcer. Where Obama has appeared to compromise has truly been more a matter of backing off realizing his position lacks support. He’ll back off and settle for something that gets his foot in the door on the issue. This technique is called incrementalism.

For the time being, pursuing “card check” the measure that would eliminate private union elections was not going to get enough support to be enacted. Obama backed off for now supporting rapid fire elections with little time to schedule and debate the union vote. The Administration also indicated it would not pursue the “fairness” doctrine where the FCC would determine the nature of political speech and force broadcasters to provide equal time for the opposite point of view. Imagine what that would do to a station that carries the big three: Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh. Instead, they are currently looking at changing station ownership rules that would impose friendlier station ownership that would accomplish the same goal. Nothing has changed the Obama agenda to silence their opponents over the public airwaves. Fortunately, there is no legal authority, at least not yet, to control satellite and cable broadcasts or Internet content.

Socialism traditionally has meant the government takes control of production, but that’s in the context of a strictly industrial based society. In post World War Two reality, the west has moved beyond industrialism to a more service and information based culture. With economies devastated by World War Two and vital resources in short supply, European nations flocked to socialism as an attempt to provide for the needs of society and allocate vital resources. What might have seen somewhat justified in the rubble of war, has turned out to be a huge burden for the European nations, most of whom are part of the European Union, whose governments are described as Democratic Socialists. Most industry is still in private hands, but the government regulates their operation broadly and more importantly, vital personal needs like medical care have been seized by the state who determines who gets what based on funding and what political considerations determine true need.

Essential to any socialist system is redistribution of wealth. Limits are placed through policy or taxation how much income can be achieved and how much property can be retained. Nothing tipped off Obama’s philosophy better than his exchange with Joe Wurzelbacher, “Joe the Plumber,” as he became known as a media figure. “Joe’s” questions took aim on Obama’s economic philosophy as well as his tax and economic policies. Candidate Obama’s responses were quite revealing none more so than when he specifically stated:

“And I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody.”

Do we need any more illustration of how high a priority this is than the appointment of a Pay Tsar, an administrative post not subject to congressional confirmation, to monitor executive compensation and to make recommendations about salaries and compensation provisions deemed out of line. While the government can be justified in limiting compensation for publicly traded companies that have accepted TARP or bailout funds to stay afloat, the administration announced that they would be examining all publicly traded companies. Why? On what legal basis do they have such authority? This is socialism on its face.

On the specifics of Barack Obama’s desire to seize control of private sector health care, how can he reconcile his attempts to market the current proposals to rush through passage before too much scrutiny can reveal not only what’s in the bill but what the true intention of its supporters ultimately want to accomplish?

In 2003, just six years ago, then State Senator Barack Obama addressed the Illinois AFL-CIO and envisioned the following:

“I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”

Shall we call this our smoking gun? Clearly an incremental approach, take as much as they can steal right way then go back for the rest later is insinuated in this speech.

As citizens examine what Barack Obama says in carefully prepared teleprompter speeches, it is important to understand what went into creating those speeches. Much polling and marketing research goes into naming various concepts and deciding what pitches to use which should have the maximum selling value to lure in public sympathy. Given how events played out in 2008, how could anyone not welcome “change you can believe in.” What no one asked was what specific changes did Barack Obama have in mind. Knowing that the population essentially wants government to leave them alone and not pay more taxes, he stated in various different ways he favored middle class tax cuts insisting he would not raise working peoples’ taxes. However, the other side of it was classic socialism, stirring up class resentment demonizing successful people who had earned much wealth as if their wealth was somehow ill-begotten and owed back to society.

Learn Obama’s biography. Study what he said to smaller audiences that are most sympathetic to his radical roots – the labor unions, grievance issue groups, and community organizing groups.

Look at what is going on with the organization most commonly known as ACORN and Barack Obama’s association with their efforts in the past and today as they and SEIU, perhaps the nation’s most radical union that originated in Chicago and broke away from the AFL-CIO to pursue a more radical agenda.

Examine the long list of Tsars and other White House appointees and see what background they hail from. Aside from some more moderate and established Washington window dressing Obama found in appointing former Clinton administration figures and DC insiders, most come from highly radical activist backgrounds or are connected with the corrupt Chicago political machine.

The more carefully one understands what drives Barack Obama, it is clear his stated desire to “transform” America, this pledge was far more than part of articulating “change” but a clear indication he has a complete agenda to reshape the function of government in our day-to-day lives.

Realizing where the President recognizes immediate victory is not possible and he is willing to use his incremental strategy to get his policies slipping through the door with the threat of the ever-possible “Trojan Horse” what is publicized to accomplish a reasonably popular objective but in fact aims toward far more radical objectives, it is dangerous to support ANY Obama administration initiative for what looks harmless in isolation could be a building block to something far more dangerous and sinister.

On the health care issue, nothing better stated Barack Obama’s true philosophy than his remarks quoted above from 2003. Since his inauguration last January, we’ve seen him feed various different positions attempting to find the right marketing ploy the public will embrace. From starting with containing health care costs which early research putting a price tag on the health care proposal by the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO’s) over a trillion dollars, then going through other stated objectives to now it’s supposedly “insurance reform” while his henchmen like Henry Waxman attempts to demonize the health insurance industry, the pattern of deception cannot be more obvious.

While the Democrats and mainstream media paint Rush Limbaugh as a vicious demagogue, an extreme right wing hate merchant, and the shadow leader of the Republican Party, perhaps his statement that caused such a stir in the media last winter should become every American’s rallying cry. When Rush Limbaugh didn’t shy away from boldly asserting he wants Obama to fail, explaining specifically he wants his policies to fail, how can we not see just how dead on target his message is. We absolutely cannot afford to have any major Obama policy initiatives to succeed.

The task of undoing the harm could be a challenge the likes of which the United States has never come close to having been forced to undertake before.

We must be prepared. We must speak out against Barack Obama at every turn, clearly, succinctly, with a clear understanding of the facts and issues that drive our criticism. We cannot be intimidated by the attempts to discredit our vision as being motivated by factors we know they are not. We are not racists. We do care about the misfortunate in our society. We do want to fix problems in medicine, education, and the environment. We do not accept a sweeping conversion to socialism to accomplish it.

That’s the crux of the debate. It’s time to act.

More Relections on Obama's Religious Rhetoric; Shades of Demonic Red

How filthy and politically calculating we find Barack Obama’s attempt to manipulate religion and faith in to the health care debate. By virtue of winning the 2008 Presidential election, President Obama is entrusted certain duties as prescribed by the Constitution of the United States. The scope of his authority is carefully constructed within the Constitution and in taking the Presidential oath, he made his sacred pledge, "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

What is set forth in the constitution, nothing more, gives the President his authority, and while we have had many Presidents whose faith guided their vision and helped direct their action including Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush, none of these figures ever used their faith as a wedge to define citizens on opposing sides of a political issue as being spiritually noble for supporting and issue and sinful and dishonest for opposing an issue.

On what moral authority does the President derive any credibility attempting to cast the health care debate according to passages of scripture he bends and distorts to make them sound like supporting arguments of his position?

Examine Barack Obama’s religious upbringing, his choices as an adult, and how he operates now and it’s clear there is no clear spiritual center in his thinking. Between his father who was originally Muslim but turned atheist to his mother who could best be described as spiritually confused, Obama was never fully integrated into a specific religion nor did he seek to embrace any religion or attempt to define his beliefs from an individualist stance until he realized to achieve his ambitions it would be necessary to do so. However, what is undeniable that from his college days forward, he deeply involved with Marxists and others espousing various radical and socialist beliefs all which were clearly secular. One must never forget communism defines religion as the opiate of the people and whether Obama specifically embraced that concept, it was at the heart of the values system of those from whom his values were influenced.

What the American people need to understand is that some of the most revealing statements about Obama’s attitude toward his religious involvement come not from opinions and reportage from conservatives but from Obama’s own words including his book, The Audacity of Hope. He stated that Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the outspoken anti-Semite, anti-White, anti-American radical church leader, brought him to Jesus, married him, and baptized his children. Given the wealth of Obama’s radical influences and the vicious rhetoric spewing from Wright’s Trinity Church, that Obama did not know what was going on during his twenty year association simply doesn’t ring true.

Clearly, when all the information is assembled mostly framed by Obama’s own words, his involvement with Wright’s church was a careful, calculated move to help develop his political credentials within the Chicago activist black community. How much of Wright’s black liberation theology Barack Obama assimilated into his own views is hard to evaluate.

Add it all up, any claims Obama makes to claim the kind of Christian status or to embrace the kind of Christian values most American Christians embrace simply don’t add up and have no credibility.

The truth is that there really was no surprise at all when videos of Wright’s vicious outbursts surfaced in the media. There’s no way Barack Obama could not have known what was going on. It translates into a classic “gotcha” moment.

Unlike former Presidents as vastly different as Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Jimmy Carter, the Christian message is not a source of comfort, guidance, and inspiration as it was in vastly different contexts for each of these former Presidents. For Barack Obama, Christianity is yet another political tactic, a means to an end, a vehicle to shape his rhetoric and influence to manipulate public perception to the extent that they can be fooled by his salesmanship.

Consider this, when campaigning in the primary election in Pennsylvania, Obama speaking at a San Francisco fund raiser spoke of Pennsylvanians “who clung to guns and religion” clearly attempting to stereotype the small town and rural conservative population as intellectually inferior and that their religious faith was but one attribute showing their lack of sophistication. That played great with the radical far-left San Francisco audience pandering quite effectively to their prejudices against heartland America.

Now, a little over a year later, Obama is using biblical language to create what would seem to be in his mind a moral imperative to support the Government seizure of private health care and to viciously demonize his opponents “bearing false” witness.

Can anything be a more conspicuous attempt at vile demagoguery?

Take Obama’s most recent tactics to defend his health care plan and his attempts to discredit opponents to his policies along with other voices within his administration, radical Democrats on Capitol Hill, and his sympathetic media shills as an attack on ordinary citizens expressing their questions, concerns, and grievances not only are they showing an elitist, we’re better than you are so you don’t count kind of attitude but the way it undermines ordinary citizens by attacking their morality, impugning their affiliation with certain organizations seen as enemies to the left amounts to the kind of brutal oppression known as McCarthyism as the Cold War got hotter and more threatening during the Truman presidency after World War II.

What Obama fails to realize, he can trot all the religious figures he likes out as pitchmen for his policies, that he has openly attacked his opponents invoking divine sanction can only unite those who are truly faithful who will see their convictions as being toyed with for cynical political gain. Obama’s history in dealing with matters of faith and his association with Reverend Wright never finding an alternative since splitting from his old Chicago church when the political heat got too hot can’t be brushed under the rug. The middle and working class citizens and senior citizens who started out breaking away from Obama with the Tax Day “Tea Party” protests and now find the prospects of the radical transformation of American society injecting the government into every aspect of health care delivery will reject Obama’s shallow religiosity. By attacking them on false assertions for who he perceives them to be, his opponents will only become more steadfast in their opposition and will find more conviction in their understanding just how wicked and threatening the Obama administration is.

We must all proudly assert who we are, speak up for the preservation of the American system that has served us so well giving us a rich standard of living where freedom and opportunity give every person the chance to accomplish great things. In Obama-Nation, all citizens are simply rank-in-file, followers in the movement, servile masses who need to be led and provided for by the ever expanding state.

Stand up and fight. Pray for wisdom and that the American people will prevail against the vicious onslaught of an oppressive secular society.

The Calling of Our Times: Destroy the Obama Administration

The Obama Administration Must Be Destroyed

That this week marked the appointment of a radically liberal Supreme Court justice being confirmed who boasts of being the product of affirmative action and openly joked about the Courts of Appeal being where policy is made would be enough to drive moderates to conservatives crazy, but in terms of what the Obama administration has hurled upon American society as part of the President’s stated aim to transform America, the Sotomayor appointment is a relatively small issue among many far more dangerous and far reaching concerns that citizens who believe the American system which has given the world so much needs to protected against a radical attempt to reshape our society from the roots up.

The truth behind the rhetoric and slick misleading campaign themes are becoming clearer with each move the administration makes. What American citizens did not hear and understand the implication of was Obama’s promise to “transform” our society. Where that transformation is leading is now clear, and the results are absolutely unacceptable. Obama’s view of society and his policies are designed to craft a society more socialized than the nations of the European union philosophically guided by the radical leftists of the left who got tremendous exposure in the late 60’s and early 70’s on the extremist fringe of the anti-war and civil rights movement, the so-called “liberation” theology extolled by Reverend Jeremiah Wright where Christianity is used as a shell to be filled with Marxist anti-Capitalistic dogma, the cult of victimology and entitlement promoted by so-called community organizations like ACORN, and the machine politics practiced by the Chicago political machine and labor union intimidation squads. The underlying assumptions are that wealth beyond a certain level is ill-begotten, the motives of corporate America work against their perceive notions of what’s good for the American people, that a strong centralized government is best suited to decide what’s best for the population, and that most American conflicts with foreign powers are ones our culture has brought on itself through our economic and military policies. The government should decide what a person’s standard of living is capable of being not a person’s desire to achieve and work for through his or her own desire.

The way the administration conducts its affairs shows a dangerous combination of the President’s total lack of experience in established institutions that reflect how our society functions and how they are managed with a background of exclusively extreme radical influences far to the left of any notion of mainstream American politics starting early on with the radical Marxist poet, Frank Marshall David, then aligning with well-known and well-established radicals who began their radical careers with the notorious Weathermen faction, Richard Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. Astonishingly lacking are any influential or mainstream Democrats unless one considers the most vicious insiders of the Chicago machine to be such. The methodology to push through its radical policies is to create a sense of urgency that rises to crisis and then turn to the most fervent leftists in the House of Representatives under Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s direction to craft the legislation loaded with considerations for special interest groups with instance on immediate passage where such measures escape having time to be adequately examined by the public or debated. The rationale is that the need for these bills is of such immediate urgency, there is no time to follow a more deliberative process. His ability to do this was predicated on having just been elected and having the glow of a honeymoon period where the public is willing to give its new leader a chance to show itself. Backed with high public approval ratings, this approach was possible for the initial “Stimulus” bill in February, the Omnibus budget bill, and the government’s acquisition of General Motors and Chrysler essentially turning them over to the UAW for control. The administration with like-minded allies in Congress in support acted at such lightening speed, the deed was done before the public could even begin to react; however in just six months, as the extent of these measures is becoming known, the dollar value of them in the trillions creating a strangling national debt, and now serious threats to the health care system which 68% of Americans in a recent poll indicated was excellent or good, have awakened the public where hopefully their action will render this dangerous radical administration unable to move its agenda and from this point forward will fail miserably advancing their wicked left-wing socialist policies.

The massive extension of Federal programs supporting and funding special interest concerns, the attempts to control executive salaries in private sector companies not receiving bailout funds, the government seizure of General Motors and Chrysler, the vicious “cap and trade” financial penalties for “carbon” pollution and the administration’s attempts to nationalize the health care industry which would result in rationing care and prescribing treatments and approaches that traditionally have been decided between a patient and his or her doctor are all concrete indications of the rapid march to a statist approach to government taking decision-making away from private citizens, medical professionals, and the business community are all benchmarks for the transformation to a socialist society where the interests of radical activist groups and labor unions rule supreme.

On the national defense and international level, the administration has eliminated all references to the war on terror arguing that terrorism is a merely a “tactic.” All references to a struggle against radical Islam has likewise been eliminated. No mention to a struggle against “Jihadism” is permissible either. The administration contends we are simply at war with Al Qaeda ignoring that Bin Ladin’s band of thugs is but one radical faction among a tremendous movement through out the Islamic world from North Africa and Southern Asia to Indonesia which is using the Islamic faith to create a political movement whose goal is to first destroy Israel and then take on the rest of Western Civilization seeing the United States as the Great Satan the controlling force they seek to destroy.

With each trip abroad to each new audience, President Obama has outlined a litany of perceived wrongs committed by the United States under previous administrations as justification for virtually any and all factions opposed to our country through out the world blaming us for what’s wrong in sweeping generalizations not willing to address the specifics of each situation many which are grounded in the corrupt and politically opportunistic forces within those countries themselves. The assumption is that any country that is involved with the United States economically must somehow be victimized and exploited by what Obama considers the greed and profit motives of American business operating abroad.

Clearly most Americans realizing these factors are at play recognize what they thought they voted for in the pursuit of “change” in last November’s election is not what the Obama administration has delivered since being inaugurated. While Obama’s intent and background was there to be seen as his candidacy ascended to victory, the news media not only failed to cover his radical background and embarrassing lack of experience. Not only did John McCain run a horrible campaign refusing to aggressively pursue his adversary’s weaknesses by appointing Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential nominee given her limited background as a first term governor of the 4th smallest state in population, he conceded the one overwhelming advantage he had, that of experience. The Republicans had grown unresponsive and too entrenched lacking a clear message to keep those outside their base in their camp. The left wing media enamored with Barack Obama’s story and the spectacle of being able to cover the first African-American President further enhanced their media stereotype of Republicans as being tools of corporate interests “big oil” and “Wall Street” fanning a sense of false class warfare which not only dovetailed with the Obama political outlook but duped some disaffected voters into playing along. The clearest reason though middle class America supported Obama was that he clearly stated he absolutely would not raise taxes on middle class wage earners; however, closer attention to the sum total of his efforts would reveal this to be a shallow lie.

In electing Barack Obama as President, the American population was not endorsing his radical agenda. Truth be told, few were even aware that any of this radicalism stuck to Obama at all. While the public sentiment can vacillate on some issues, over the long haul, the nation’s political outlook is right of center and many Democrats, the so-called “blue dogs” who successfully unseated Republicans gave every indication of being just that especially on economic issues. So far, they have cow-towed to the radical interests and iron-fisted control of their speaker, Nancy Pelosi and the negative fuzzy grip on power wielded in the Senate by Majority Leader, Harry Reid. Only Nancy Pelosi and a handful of house members from the nation’s most radical districts come close to approaching the radicalism of the Obama administration while the Senate is markedly less radical, the Democrats are quick to support the designs of a President from their ranks attempting to give him credibility as being more mainstream, a proposition that is becoming more and more transparent with each step.

Nothing could have reflected the Obama mindset and true agenda under the cover of his usually carefully staged and rehearsed image when he commented on the arrest of his radical Harvard crony, professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. by a Cambridge, Massachusetts officer recognized through out the ranks of his department as a model officer with an outstanding reputation for racial issues. While stating he did not know all the facts, Obama smugly sneered that the Cambridge police “acted stupidly.” He went on to attempt to use this episode as a smoking gun for his perception of apparent racial profiling.

Now is the time for private citizens to assert themselves and make so much noise that Washington DC is rendered into a state of perpetual unmovable gridlock until the Obama administration and Democratic majority can be voted out of office. Through speaking up at public forums, cascading their representatives with letters, phone calls, and emails, the voice of the people must overcome attempts the Obama machine will use to attempt to trivialize, intimidate, and distract their efforts by mounting organized intimidation campaigns against them manned by labor union thugs and radical special interest activists. Sheer numbers must overcome the noise and disturbance the Obama henchmen are capable of creating. While the media continues to attempt to build the Obama myth, they can only do so for so long before their credibility is completely destroyed and the reality of what surrounds them is just too compelling to ignore.

Beyond these measures, huge well-organized demonstrations, boycotts, widespread acts of nonviolent civil disobedience, all possible measures of rebellion consistent with the philosophies of Gandhi and Martin Luther King must be considered to preserve our Democracy. Not since the Vietnam War where Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon conscripted everyday Americans to fight in an unjustified war killing close to 60,000 young Americans has the threat been so clear. While 60,000 casualties in flag draped coffins wouldn’t be the end result of Obama’s health care plan, how many tens of thousands of lives will be compromised not given the necessary level of care? How many disabled citizens will be considered not worth the risk? How many seniors will be considered too old to receive life saving treatment they need? How many Americans who could have lived under today’s system would be given up on and allowed to die or suffer miserably under rationed health care which would result from the government empowered to allocate care.

We can look at these factors and their chilling impact on our lives and only pray for holy damnation against a power hungry radical regime hell bent on destroying the America we defend and love.

Don’t let this happen to us! Do something!!!! We CAN succeed!!!

Michigan Unemployment Zeroes in on 13%

That the Detroit Lions went 0-16 seems like such a distant and silly tragedy when in the real world, unemployment in Michigan has hit 12.9% for April according to The Detroit News. This is the highest since 1983. If you remember what product Detroit had rolling off the assembly line back then, it is little wonder. Want a used Chevy Citation?

Soon, what's left of General Motors and Chrysler will be government jobs but how far can the government go and how can government control yield competitive car makers.

Certainly, if someone visits a Chevrolet showroom, one would find some pretty darned nice cars in the Chevy Malibu and Impala. These cars stand up nicely against their Japanese competition and Ford's Fusion and Taurus. J.D. Power overall ratings place these cars at the top along with Ford's entries too -- as good or better than the Japanese. Sadly, the same isn't true of Chrysler.

While we sympathize with our brethren in Michigan, but shouldn't the market not Washington decide the fate of GM and Chrysler? If GM could shed some weight, they have the muscle to still be a fine automaker if their legacy costs don't kill them. Chrysler has little left that's unique. Perhaps the Jeep product line could be absorbed by another automaker if CAFE standards don't doom it to begin with.

The old wisdom is, "if it ain't broke, let the government fix it until it is." The free market wasn't broken....

Michigan needs to make itself an attractive state to attract new businesses and build an infrastructure to train displaced autoworkers to function in 21st century jobs. This is ultimately what's good for the state and the workers. It's not good for the UAW, and they're the ones with the political clout right now. Traditional unions are more obsolete than a proverbial Chevy Citation no matter how much Obama-nation caves into their every wish.

Chrysler corporation with 55% union ownership is a hen house run by the foxes.

God help the Wolverine State!

May Day!!!

It's time to reflect on what May Day means. While riots break out in the streets of Europe as an annual ritual for the scum of the earth (or at least the European continent), May Day is the established date to celebrate the cause of world socialism. It hasn't been that long since the huge May Day parades with the military might of the Soviet Union on display in Red Square. Communist nations around the world have held similar events while the hateful communist parties in Democratic nations strut their stuff in whatever forum they can find to spew their lies about their distorted view of the workers' struggle around the world.

The socialist movement has much to celebrate as they have one of their own in the most powerful office in the world, the White House in Washington, DC. How far the socialist sympathies of Barack Obama and his enablers in Congress will destroy the basic fabric of the American free enterprise system has yet to be determined. However, this day and what it represents should stand as a firm warning that we must answer the challenge to make sure the United States remains a 4th of July country not a May 1st country.

The tea party revolt understands this. Let our voices be heard, our critics be damned.

Michigan Metal (Washington and Wall Street Madness)

While in the escape world of NASCAR competition, a Dodge (Chrysler) stands in number one and Chevrolets (GM) occupy the next three positions before Toyotas and Fords show up, in the real world the story is quite the opposite. While Toyota has become the world's most powerful automaker and Ford is the one stable American company, General Motors gave a glimpse of its future with Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, and Saabs going the way of the Oldsmobile and Plymouth. Even more earthshaking, Chrysler has filed for bankruptcy. If it will survive, the new Chrysler Corporation will be 55% owned by the UAW (United Auto Workers UNION!!!) and 35% by Fiat, the Italian automaker of small cheap cars. The remaining ownership state is mostly the United States government and 2% the Canadian government.
x
While the news media and Obama administration single out unyielding lenders who refused to cave in to the terms of the suggested bailout agreement for Chrysler, the truth of the matter of how it came to the Chapter 11 filing is an entirely different matter. We'll examine the development of Chrysler's downfall since its golden days of the 1960's. Meanwhile, we object in the strongest terms to the demonizing aimed at the lenders who held their ground in this matter. While the president accused these lenders including the Oppenheimer fund of seeking an "unjustified taxpayer-funded bailout" reality for those firms is quite different. Oppenheimer indicated they were "unfairly asked our fund shareholders to make financial sacrifices greater than the sacrifices being made by unsecured creditors."
x
The cold hard facts are that the investment funds holding Chrysler debt determined they stand to get a greater return for their investment under bankruptcy terms than the amount they could get under the terms of the bailout plan. Offering more specifics, these bond holders issued the following statement in the Wall Street Journal:

"Under long recognized legal and business principles, junior creditors are ordinarily not entitled to anything until senior secured creditors like our investors are repaid in full. Nevertheless, to facilitate Chrysler's rehabilitation, we offered to take a 40% haircut even though some groups lower down in the legal priority chain in Chrysler debt were being given recoveries of up to 50% or more and being allowed to take out billions of dollars. In contrast, over at General Motors, senior secured lenders are being left unimpaired with 100% recoveries, while even GM's unsecured bondholders are receiving a far better recovery than we are as Chrysler's first lien secured lenders,"
-
While being cast as the ultimate symbols of fat cat greed, the investment funds not accepting the Chrysler plan represent pension funds and many 401k investments. Their fiduciary responsibility is to look out for their interests not Chrysler's. They are in the business to make sure their investors, not wealthy business tycoons but average Americans providing for their retirement, get the maximum return for their investment in a financial climate where almost all investments have lost value. They are not charities who are morally committed to Chrysler's fate.
-
While Barack Obama attempts to make it sound like these lenders have a moral or patriotic duty to comply with his administration sponsored agreement, to sell out their stakeholders for the sake of political pressure would be dead wrong.
-
What this mess reveals once again is Barack Obama's totally inability to understand the workings of a for profit economy, how businesses operate, and what their corporate responsibilities are. While the loss of jobs at Chrysler, its dealers, and suppliers is a worthwhile venture, political motivation cannot be denied. Obama's cozy relationship and powerful support of organized labor is unprecedented.
-
In the Capitalist system, success is rewarded and failure has consequences. The recent history of Chrysler and the heavy handed interference has rendered them a weak player against strong competition. With runaway gas prices and the recession that followed, Chrysler no longer had high volume profitable vehicles in its offerings. Their most desirable vehicles are niche products like Jeeps, upscale minivans, and the luxury sedan, Chrysler 300. Their products to compete against Chevrolet Impalas, Toyota Camry's, and Honda Accords just don't match up. The cold hard truth is documented by recent J.D. Power ratings of mid sized sedans. Citing the "overall quality" ratings, the Chevy Malibu and Ford Fusion both achieve 5 star ratings, the highest in the industry while the Toyota Camry rates 4 stars. Rock bottom on the list with 2 stars are the two Chrysler products, the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring.
-
The sad news for Chrysler is clearly General Motors has something to save with its top rated Malibu. Bailouts alone can't substitute when their product is inferior to all its competitors. Chrysler products are also the lowest rated among full sized cars, large pickups, and compacts. The one bright spot, mid-sized SUV's where the Dodge Durango achieved the highest distinction.
-
Does Chrysler have a future worth saving? Sadly, Kurt Busch leading the Sprint Cup standings and the Dodge Durango's ratings are tiny little blips on a line pointing straight down to extinction.
-
If only the old myth of win on Sunday, sell on Monday were still true, Dodge and Chevrolet would be leading customers into the salesroom boosting Chrysler and GM into the winner's circle.

Another Earth Day: More Speeches of Doom and Gloom, and ....

recycling used to be a part of day to day life!

Another “Earth Day” has come and gone and to what end?

What's different this year is that the United States now has a President, Barack Obama, who is perpetually drunk on Al Gore's and Robert Kennedy's stash of green Kool Aid, and the concept of "carbon caps" are only the beginning of the insanity our hell-bent on socialism leader might consider.

For some, this year’s observance would be seen as the 39th anniversary, when Senator Gaylord Nelson conducted his first environmental teach-in on April 22, 1970. For those of us who can remember back to the 1960’s and earlier, we can remember what it was like driving through industrial areas like the New Jersey Turnpike approaching New York City, The Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Thruway, the expressways to the south of Chicago, and the expressways leading to Niagara Falls around Buffalo, New York and remember the stench of the refineries, the spewing chemicals from industrial smokestacks, and the soot in the air. It was sickening. Littered highways were a common sight. The sight and smell of major bodies of water in major cities, the Baltimore Harbor, the Delaware River, the Detroit River, and much of an entire Great Lake, Lake Erie were full of floating litter, dead fish, and waste. A trip through the mountains of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia revealed unsightly strip mines with rivers and streams leading through them with discolored, fouled water.

Certainly, some of the most unsightly forms of pollution have been conquered. One can walk through downtown areas of Baltimore, Washington, and Philadelphia in most weather conditions and the air does not seem unpleasant.

Still, in the Mid-Atlantic area, we cannot ignore our greatest natural treasure, the Chesapeake Bay which has faced crisis after crisis through the decades while some problems appear solved; others continue, some worsen, and new ones develop. In the late 70’s and early 80’s, the striped bass or rock fish had all but vanished, now nice large ones can be caught in season. The bay might not have visible swill, scum, and algae to the extent once observed in the past, but the bay is not well. Twenty years ago, one could go crabbing, and catch a bountiful harvest of big delicious blue crabs in a morning’s or afternoon’s work, almost effortlessly catching enough crabs for quite a lavish crab feast. Crabs by the bushel were available all along the Chesapeake Bay communities quite affordable for working class people who’d chow down on them with some good old National Beer. Oysters were plentiful. The Crab and Oyster industries thrived along the Maryland and Virginia Chesapeake coasts.

While an afternoon boating on the Chesapeake Bay is still a magnificent experience with incredible sightlines showing Maryland as “America in Miniature” in its finest glory on a bright sunny day spring or fall a close inspection from the northern bay between the Bay Bridge and Aberdeen reveals some man made problems. Gaze to the west and see the ribbon of haze running southwest by northeast more or less paralleling Interstate 95 and know that haze doesn’t belong there. With the massive amounts of auto exhaust where the air masses of the cooler northern continental approach the subtropics of the coastal plain more or less following the fall line, signs of a polluted atmosphere cannot be ignored. The Baltimore-Washington area can experience a sinus, skin, and lung irritating smog when the right weather conditions create a nauseating smog. Summer ozone alerts are still frequent.

Much hard work remains to make man’s destruction of the environment insignificant. Every citizen needs to make some adjustments in his or her day to day living habits to help make this necessity reality. How shameful it is, for instance, living in an apartment, and having no means to practice the most basic forms of recycling short of having to drive to the landfills and recycling centers during one’s free time. Where returnable bottles were the norm when we were children, throwaway glass, plastic, and metal containers are almost all that’s available in Maryland. Pennsylvania still sells beer at local beer distributors where beer by the case is in returnable long neck bottles, the best way to enjoy beer. Up into the 1970’s, sodas were primarily sold in returnable bottles. Local gas stations often sold cases of coke in wooden containers with 10, 12, or 16 oz bottles. Almost all milk was sold in ½ gallon and quart returnable bottles. What could be tastier than grandma’s canned tomatoes, tomatoes from our vegetable garden “canned” in reusable jars? Even the most expensive organic tomatoes from gourmet grocers don’t come close.

While automobiles are far less polluting than cars built before pollution controls started being mandated in the late 60’s, rest assured if one leaves the motor running in the garage, he’ll die from carbon monoxide and other toxic emissions just about as quickly. In the 1960’s, it looked like the future of energy production belonged to nuclear plants, and since 1979, what happened to that?

While much work needs to be done, the focus of environmental improvement is way out of line. Much work needs to be done. We scratched the surface above, but sadly environmentalism has become a kind of green fascism led by some of the western world’s most rabid socialists and committed extreme leftists whose agenda seems to be more directed toward an anti free enterprise agenda and less by pragmatic air, water, solids, and land use management. Claims of impending doom as a call to action cloud the real issues and compromise the whole movement.

Looking back to claims made during the first Earth Day, it’s a miracle we’re even still alive to be having this discussion. Organizer, Dennis Hayes opined “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation. Senator Nelson spoke of the words of Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, then Secretary of the Smithsonian that within 25 years between 75 and 80 percent of all species of animals would be extinct. Popular environmentalist, Paul Ehrlich, author of The Population Bomb, maintained that between 1980 and 1989, 4 billion humans including 65 million Americans would starve to death. (Gee, isn’t obesity the new threat to the environment according to a British study?) Life magazine published that by 1985, the amount of sunlight reaching the earth would be reduced by half.

How ironic it is then that the concern then was that the earth was getting COLDER. The earth’s mean temperature would be four degrees cooler by 1990 and eleven degrees by 2000 which they considered would be twice the extent required to bring about a massive ice age. Thinking back to the winters of 1976-77, 77-78, 78-79, that wouldn’t seem so far-fetched. They also predicted that oil consumption at the 1970 rate of consumption would result in complete depletion of all crude oil.

Who could forget the dire predictions of the April 28, 1975 cover of Newsweek about the impending ice age? From its stark cover to all kinds of maps, charts, and figures, the famous Peter Gwynne article created a real sense of climatological doom. In 1975, without the Internet, cable television, and the media explosion, the impending ice age, global cooling, did not rev up the kind of hysteria the global warming frenzy of the last decade has been able to gin up, but given how cold the next three winters were in the eastern United States, it sure seemed to have some plausibility.

Among the radical left, global warming is still the mad hysteria for which our economic systems and lifestyles need to be turned inside out to address. It’s noteworthy, that increasingly as the widespread doom seems to be not quite as forthcoming as were other predictions of environmental doom, the term, “climate change” has become more fashionable. Regardless, in recent years, the warming trend has subsided. Go figure!

So what does all this mean?

First, at least in the United States and Western Europe, it would be absurd to accuse almost anyone of being “anti-environment.” Surely, there is a very destructive movement of extreme fascism masquerading as environmentalism with former Vice President, Al Gore, being one of its most vocal leaders; however, as far out of bounds as many of his suggestions are along with figures like Robert Kennedy Jr., their voices are moderate compared to the most extreme.

The primary debate surrounds two different approaches. One approach is the free market approach where developing green technologies are rewarded and developing an incentive based system of improving the environment should be promoted. The other is through massive regulation, penalties, restrictions, and government implemented, managed, and enforced solutions such as the “carbon cap” nonsense proposed by the Obama administration. One outgrowth of this kind of thinking is the ridiculous concept of “carbon credits” where a company can trade its pollution control requirements in exchange for investing in offsetting pro-environmental activities elsewhere. When one examines what insane things count as carbon credits and how much of this program reduces to good old political wheeling and dealing is especially onerous.

Looking at the big picture, without going to all kinds of charts and diagrams, going statistic crazy to document what is happening to the environment and what future scenarios could involve, sound environmental policy should be designed to minimize human imposition on the environment as much as possible without imposing ridiculous consequences on individual freedom and economic sustainability. All societies should always be engaged in constant efforts to find better, less imposing methods of energy generation, land use, and all human activities which impact our planet.

Foreign policy is at the heart of sound environmental policy and the world’s major economic powers are failing miserably on this front. While international treaties like the Kyoto accords would have imposed substantial burdens on the United States, Japan, and Western Europe, other economies were left scot free.

As the United States and Europe outsources manufacturing more and more to countries with weak environmental enforcement, these manufacturing countries are causing horrible strain to the planet’s health. While the world is awash of cheap finished goods manufactured in China, Chinese power plants and industrial output contributes significantly to atmospheric sulfur causing damaging acid rain in Canada as one for instance.

China, Russia, and the Islamic world show little willingness to work constructively toward maintaining the planet’s well-being while the rest of the world comes racing to them for cheap manufactured goods and energy supplies.

Considering that industrial equipment, consumer goods, electronics products, and many more commodities are manufactured in China to be sold by major American, Japanese, and American corporations from virtually all home electronics manufacturers, major retailers, home appliance firms, and the fashion industry, should we not be using the power of our customer dollars on the world market to demand proper environmental considerations?

American, Japanese, and European manufacturers should insist that their manufacturing units in China and elsewhere adhere to the same environmental standards as they do in their home countries. Since the world manufacturing market does not control the means by which China generates electricity, our governments can impose severe tariffs specifically targeted toward the pollution its infrastructure adds to the world’s environment. These tariffs should be two-fold, one to help countries remedy the cost of damage caused by Chinese pollution and second to incentivize China to meet world standards in energy production and vehicular pollution. To the extent China fails to comply, the world economy should continue to ramp up tariffs on China while rewarding industrial economies that are responsible.

The world’s civilized nations must unite and end their hands-off policy toward dealing with equatorial nations that are destroying the world’s rainforests using political and economic pressure to end the destruction of a vital part of the world’s eco-system. Similar tactics should be employed where “scorched earth” type behavior creates other environmental catastrophes whether it involves purely environmental concerns or behavior that endangers the world’s food chain and wild life, examples being; over hunting or fishing, poaching endangered species, or engaging in farming practices which leaves the soil unsustainable.

Doing nothing or leaving it up to someone else solves nothing while environmentalist fascism cannot be tolerated either. Human creativity, the free enterprise system, and respect for God’s bountiful creation will yield a world where human progress can exist in harmony with the natural environment. Greed, politics, and blaming someone else while accepting no responsibility yields the status quo. We can do better. We must do better.

If folks think Al Gore is the answer, they’re not asking the right questions.
