Maryland -- The Sanctuary University System

Here we go again, for the second time since elected Governor, Martin O'Malley, the narcissistic ultra-ambitious rock star wanna-be spotlight grabber governor of Maryland, was elected, Maryland is about to raise taxes again including taxes on gasoline, alcohol, and small business fees in Baltimore Country. The huge income tax increase of 2007 sought to exploit Maryland's well-to-do as a piggy bank for all kinds of labor union and pet Democratic party causes less than a year after the Ehrlich administration had run a tight economic shop that consistently balanced budgets without raising taxes.

The result, those wealthy enough to leave Maryland might have gone as far as Florida or Texas where there is no income tax while middle class exodus continues to Southern Pennsylvania as the northern tier of the Baltimore suburbs, Virginia as an alternative to Prince George's or Montgomery County in the Washington DC area, or Delaware for population centers in Cecil, Dorchester, Wicomico, Worchester or any bordering county. Given Elkton and Salisbury practically border on Delaware, it's a short move.

Consider this, a middle class family has struggled for years to keep up with the expanses of family living and moves to Pennsylvania or Delaware to improve their economic standings including having enough money to send their kids to college. Gee, those moving to Southern Pennsylvania, Towson University would be a nice choice or Southern Delaware, Salisbury would be nice; however, they'd now have to pay substantially more expensive tuition as out of state residents even though they work, shop, and contribute to Maryland. So picture this, suppose a kid enrolled in Towson or Salisbury and gave the State his or her grandparents' or uncle's address as residence in Maryland to be able to pay in-state tuition. the student would surely be prosecuted at very least forced to make up the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition but could also face prosecution. That's what's governments due when enterprising citizens find some way to prevent themselves from being robbed by the government.

Of course for student who live in Maryland and seek to attend Maryland universities, they quickly find the state doesn't care about them or their parents who have invested in Maryland's kitty for many years. To take in more money beyond the huge budget from Annapolis and to help bolster phony academic ratings, they'll set higher bars for admission bringing in supposedly more qualified but absolutely higher paying out of state tuition while leaving state students out in the cold. Former Assistant Secretary of Education for Post Secondary, Diane Auer Jones, has frequently written on these college finance issues.

If that's not unfair enough, Maryland like a number of other extreme left wing states now seeks to provide another privileged class to get reduced in state tuition. They are not legal Maryland residents. They don't even belong in the United States. The Maryland Senate voted 27-20 to accommodate illegal immigrants provided they have lived in Maryland for the past three years an easily accomplished task since Maryland is a sanctuary state, something Martin O'Malley proudly boasts about, and the Immigration authorities certainly could care less about illegal immigrants right on the doorstep of the nation's capital.

The bottom line Maryland taxpayers and resident students are financing privileges for people breaking the law. This is at a time schools are cutting teaching positions in Maryland high schools which in turn could have Maryland students less accomplished, less qualified to attend their own Maryland schools. Before long it becomes a vicious circle of political corruption. The overall effect is to hold back legal Maryland residents from reaching their potential able to become significant wage earners to pay ever increasing Maryland taxes to a government whose priority is not wage earners outside of the protected class who fall under the Democratic party's umbrella.

Maryland citizens should be rightly outraged and demand justice from the hateful thieves in Annapolis who steal their money and give it away for building their own political spheres of influence.

Let's be honest, Maryland intends to subsidize lawbreakers. There is no sugar coating this, no pussy-footing around the hard reality of what they're doing. It's not hard to imagine these same politicians and their media supporters will call those who oppose being fleeced to support such an atrocity as bigoted, racist, greedy, and anti-immigrant. What they say doesn't change the cold hard facts of their moronic actions. Smart Marylanders are anti-incumbent corrupt Maryland politicians.

Sadly, Maryland just had the opportunity to restore integrity to the state house and restore Robert Ehrlich and all the common sense reforms he attempted to implement during his four years in the state house, but once again, the state teachers' unions, government employees, union members, and those sucking up the state handouts showed up at the polls while those who have a true investment in the state either didn't show up or voted like retarded politically naive Marylanders so often do.

What will it take Maryland?   How much more of your money is going to the state than in 2006?  What are you getting for your money?  Soon, your chance to enroll in the state university system will be diminished while your hard earned money pays for law breakers to go in your place.

Cut the "undocumented" garbage, THEY ARE ILLEGAL. You can bet that if your son or daughter apply with their grandparents' or uncle's address, the state will document them immediately. The document AN ARREST WARRANT.

WAKE UP MARYLAND. THIS IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY!!!

MEXICO -- Our Next War

The saga of the Southwest Border is out of control. Illegal immigrants flood in the America unchecked, areas along the Mexican border in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California are garbage strewn wastelands, the result of criminal intruders' passing through. Parts of our country are truly occupied territory by lawless intruders -- government land in Mexico with warnings for real citizens not to trespass. Brutal violence is a daily occurrence just feet over the line from America's border cities like El Paso and Laredo. Phoenix, Arizona leads the United States in kidnapping almost all of it Mexican gang related. Pure terrorism flourishes at our doorstep.

Meanwhile, over the border, a few hundred miles south of the United States, Ford Motor Company operates one of its most important assembly lines essentially deported from their home company by greedy labor unions that priced themselves and hence domestic manufacturing out of existence. Tourist attractions like Cancun and Cabo continue to haul in the tourists. Around the nation's capital, Mexico City, are palaces of great wealth and fortune. Those images stand in stark contrast to what exists along the nation's northern territory where lawless drug cartels rule and what facsimile there is of supposed law enforcement is instead little more than a corrupt shakedown operation often praying on naive American motorists. Mass murder, torture, and pure lawless is the law of the land. Weapons flow in like a steady river from north of the border as contraband drugs flow north.

No one is safe in the land of lawlessness. Recently, a young couple from Colorado was jet skiing along a border waterway, the husband was murdered by Mexican thugs. Now an American college professor visiting her elderly mother in the border town of Ciudad Juarez intersecting El Paso, Texas was kidnapped by a gang of armed thugs.

REFERENCE POST: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/03/12/professor-kidnapped-mexican-border-city/

How bad is it? At least 39 United States citizens were murdered in the thug infested city of 1.3 million residents. Torture, mutilation and decapitation are standard fare. Their brutality is absolutely as severe Islamic extremists except the Mexican thugs aren't about to kill themselves when they can kill others without consequence. In 2010, there were 3,075 homicides in Juarez, approximately 229 per 100,000 citizens. By contrast, Baltimore, Maryland, a city plagued with urban violence endured 223 murders for the entire year in a city half the size of the Mexico murder ward. In Mexico, the drug cartel rules twenty four/seven with the terrorists in control.

The cold hard truth is with one footstep across the border from the United States into Mexico, a person crosses into a chaotic land of pure lawlessness much more like the pure anarchy of Somalia than anything resembling an elected republic.

Worse, all the elements of terrorism, lawlessness and murder continue to get worse at an alarming rate with an ever accelerating degree of viciousness. The struggle to keep it contained in Mexico continues to be more and more difficult.

No matter what the national government of Mexico attempts to do, all efforts are futile in its north frontier. American border agents are overwhelmed in part to Washington indifference. The longer both governments fail to weed out and destroy the cartels, the more the inevitable becomes clear. At a time when border agents are charged with murder for acting in self-defence while politics and political correctness rule supreme, the enemy of the American and Mexican people are growing stronger, getting bolder, conquering more area as their home turf.

While immigration reform is important to take care of the US side of the border, only armed force along the entire southern frontier will keep the thugs from entering the United States, but what will it take to go right to the belly of the beast -- to eradicate the insurrection, to kill the vicious enemies of civilization hell bent on making all of northern Mexico one huge killing field?

The time for decisive action is long past due, the Obama administration and legislators from both parties seem lost in denial while states in the line of fire find all their actions increasingly futile without Federal support.

The march of death moves on. How many will be beaten, tortured, and murdered today? We're running out of tomorrows to fix the problem.

A Bad Week for Straightening Out Illegal Immigration

With the Obama administration winning its initial court injunction against the people of Arizona in their attempts to deal with illegal aliens engaged in potential criminal activity to the barrage of over the top demogoguery and dishonest rhetoric directed against responsible efforts to control or report the problem, the last week of July, 2010 has been a difficult setback for those who support the rule of law. The American people have made clear where they stand.

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

This writer is sick and tired of the insanity surrounding illegal aliens in our country. The truth of the matter is tens of thousands of illegal aliens come into America from Mexico every year. Many come in search of jobs. Others are engaged in drug and human smuggling or to set up running guns and resources back to Mexico.

While there are illegal immigrants from elsewhere in the world, none reach the kind of numbers to cause any considerable trouble in this country unless they are here as part of a terrorist organization almost all of which are from radical Islam.

The bottom line is these people who come here not following American immigration law are here illegally. They do not belong here. Desiring the borders be enforced is not “persecution” as many “immigration advocates,” members of the media, and factions in the Democratic Party would suggest. It is not racist to seek action be taken to enforce the law. The illegal aliens are so overwhelming Mexican and the potential terrorists are radical Islamic followers. IT IS NOT RACIST to demand the law is enforced. It surely is possible for responsible law enforcement officers to determine illegal aliens from legitimate Hispanic citizens and visitors. If the United States had a similar problem with Anglo-Canadians or French-Canadians, it would be the same situation. The bottom line is there is almost no illegal entry into the United States from Canada.

This writer strongly supports legal immigration. Our country will continue to grow as people from around the world come to America to join our workforce and make us stronger. Sadly, the current process is cumbersome and lengthy even for those like Filipinos, Africans, and Koreans who seek to come to America to join professions urgently in need of staffing who face long miserable waits to get their entry documents to come here the way they are supposed to.

How many legitimate job seekers are displaced because the positions they would seek are filled with illegal workers? How many of those illegal workers are not being paid legal wages?

It is disgusting to hear illegal aliens’ advocates talk of those law breakers being persecuted. If they are in the United States illegally, they are subject to arrest and legal remedy at any time. To say their civil rights are being violated overlooks a crucial matter of law. Most legal rights are afforded to U.S. citizens.

How frequently is a sickly kind of Orwellian “new speak” used to try to warp public perception of illegal aliens in our country?

The politically correct morons, the folks who’d fall in line with the ACLU, attempt to call legitimate language racist while making up terms like “undocumented workers or residents” to identify people who are breaking the law. There’s a great observation that’s been floating around lately which says, “Calling illegal aliens undocumented workers is the same as calling drug pushers unlicensed pharmacists.” Oh, imagine how the progressive elite chattering class would deal with that observation.

Once again, we expect our politicians to take responsibility and do what they are elected to do. What a slap in the face it is to the people of Arizona for the Federal Government to so miserably fail at protecting their border then take them to court for passing a law that helps the state fill the gap. If all current laws had been routinely enforced, we would not have an immigration problem. The failure is the result of narrow minded self-serving politics – Democrats who see the illegal population as part of a future voting block, and Republicans and some Democrats who don’t want to force employers not to hire illegal workers.

Once again, the priorities are obvious.

1- First, the Federal government must enforce the border. If it requires military action using the National Guard to actively provide front line enforcement, all efforts must be used.

2- Severe and immediate penalties must be imposed on companies that hire illegal workers.

3- Any state or municipality creating sanctuary environments must be prosecuted. No benefits such as in state tuition discounts will be permitted for illegal aliens.

4- A full accounting of all illegal immigrants must be undertaken to indentify and assess all people who are living in the United States illegally. Fair standards for those who have worked here, obeyed the law, and contributed to their community will be provided a means to become “normalized” that does not put those who are seeking entry legally. Those who do not meet the criteria will be returned to their country of origin if appropriate or imprisoned if they have been proven to have committed felonious crimes.

5- The Civil Rights Commission and other appropriate agencies will conduct routine investigations to make sure citizens and those in the country legally are not being harassed or treated unfairly. Those responsible for violating those persons’ rights will be prosecuted.

6- Marijuana must be legalized. The dangers of prohibition far exceed the benefits. Doing so will  eliminate the largest volume illegal commodity from being a contributory issue on the borders creating crime and illegal entry. Laws regarding the sale and taxation of marijuana must be enacted.

7- Responsible international policies must be established working with Mexico so it can develop its economy, defeat the criminal gangs that threaten its residents, and creates mutually beneficial economic relations through fully utilizing the NAFTA treaty.

The foolishness has gone on far too long. The time for action is long overdue.

More Topsy-Turvy Justice on Illegal Aliens

Michael Nutter: Philadelphia's aptly named Mayor.
In the topsy-turvy world of political correctness, identity politics, and where it is racist to state the facts of identifying illegal aliens, as just that, here’s an example of just how perverse the issue has become.

One would think those who interfere with the enforcement of Federal law or withhold vital information from Federal law enforcement officials would be prosecuted for obstructing justice. Where sanctuary cities flourish, we look at Philadelphia where Mayor Michael Nutter seeks to void a contract allowing immigration authorities to view Philadelphia arrest records. Hence, Philadelphia will soon join an alarming number of cities who purposely harbor fugitives from justice from an enforcement agency whose efforts are lackadaisical to begin with.

We salute an enterprising young reporter in the White House Press Corp who asked the Obama Press Doofus, Robert Gibbs, “If Arizona’s illegal immigration law is unconstitutional, as claimed by the DOJ and Pres. Obama, why are sanctuary cities across the country which are in clear violation of federal law, not being targeted by the federal government?”

Watching the designated doofus stumble over not answering the question was a sight to behold. Folks need to see this dork in action to see how the administration talks down to the public even if that public is the White House Press Corps.

Pete Stark - One of Capitol Hill's Worst

When a member of the private citizen organization, the Minutemen, stood to ask California Congressman Pete Stark a question about border security, the radical leftr-wing atheist legislator taunted the citizen with a hate-filled taunt sneering: “Who are you going to kill today?”

Finally, after the citizen asked why more wasn’t being done to secure the border, Stark quipped,

“If you knew anything about our borders, you would know that's not the case. Our borders are quite secure, thank you."

How can our elected leaders expect respect from the population when some like Pete Stark show such open contempt for the country’s citizens? It’s up to the press and the public to hold him responsible for his lies and boorish conduct.

Raising Arizona -- Raising the Truth

"It's no fun being an illegal alien."
-Genesis, 1983
What more can be said of the left’s attempt to stir up chaos over Arizona’s difficult attempt to get a handle on the difficulties caused by a constant stream of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States across the southern Arizona border?

When figures like Attorney General, Eric Holder and Homeland Security Apologist, Janet Napolitano hit the talk show circuit condemning the law as racist subjecting legal residents to unlawful detention without ever having read the law itself, they reveal their true agenda and lack of moral principle. The law obviously doesn’t matter. Cynically attempting to create a racial and cultural divide between mainstream citizens and ones of recent Hispanic heritage has crass political motives attempting to create a true victim class of Hispanics who would hopefully form a steadfast political identity that would vote solidly democrat as they manipulated African Americans through arbitrary and false accusations of racism and demonizing those who have strayed from the orthodoxy of their agenda.

One has to think how would those who have done the right thing, followed the law, and entered the country legally? Who is appealing to them and applauding them for their efforts to follow the law. Sadly, they’re being pumped full of fear that they could be subject to detention making legitimate law enforcement look like some kind of racist goon squad.

How quick folks are being pushed to jump to conclusions regarding Arizona’s plight. To get a good fix on its reality, one should talk to anyone who lives in or spends much time in the state. One Arizona resided confided that the boundary has effectively been pushed 150 miles north because the level of activity of illegal aliens flooding in and overwhelming the resources of that part of the state have gotten so out of control. Many peoples’ private property has been destroyed and vandalized because of the massive incursion across their land.

Seeing the population uniting behind the Arizona people and their law, the Obama administration has reluctantly committed some National Guard troops with very little empowerment to play a major roll in securing the border. Some help is better than nothing, but nothing short of a total commitment to secure the border completely is satisfactory.

Businesses that recruit and employ illegal aliens must be prosecuted severely. A clear procedure on how to enter the United States legally where the terms and conditions are clearly defined and enforced must be enacted and become the law of the land.

An equitable system must be established to deal with the illegal aliens currently residing in the United States. It is impossible and absurd to think about returning all of them to their country of origin. How can they be assimilated without rewarding them for breaking the law? Benchmarks need to be determined where if citizenship were the ultimate goal, specific criteria must be met including fluency in English and a clear record of living crime free. Those who cannot meet these criteria can be issued guest worker permits. Criminals and others who are not contributing to the United States of America who have entered illegally must be returned to their home countries.

All these measures must be done in an honest, open manner. Politics which exploit racial and ethnic division will not be tolerated. Those who cooperate and show their sincere desire to become part of our culture fulfilling their obligations should be treated with tremendous respect and welcomed to the United States as part of the great population of different cultures and influences whose rich blend make us the greatest country on earth.

The only thing difficult about this is getting politicians to function in the professional, non-opportunistic way most of us have elected them to do. The voters must uphold their end of the deal throwing out those politicians who act against the harmonious entry and assimilation of immigrant pollution by rule of law and continue to use this sensitive issue to divide us.

Left-Wing Hysteria and Arizona's Plight

The following blog was motivated by posts from the two most devote Facebook friends. One is all over MoveOn.org. The other writes his own naive and ignorant blogs and follows like a moth to a flame any thing Credo cretins post. I wonder if they have any idea what the law really says. One is unemployed. -RMF
The current frenzy sweeping the left concerning Arizona’s effort to control the massive tide of illegal aliens rushing into their state reveals the true character of the liberal mindset and how destructive and defeating it is.

Is there anything that offends them or that they disagree with they’re not armed with some term of demonization ready to fly as a quick knee jerk reaction?

In this case, Arizona is RACIST. There efforts are an attack against, let’s use their favorite phrase that sounds so phony, “people of color,” which an old school English teacher would say should be “colored people” to be grammatically correct, but African-Americans used to be called “colored people” back when segregation was still the norm, so they were renamed something else and something else and something else which is another part of the liberal game, if you don’t like the reality of something, change the name. Arizona is dealing with illegal aliens, but the left would call them undocumented workers, residents, or event citizens. Hmm, interesting.

In typical “Chicken Little” fashion, the messengers for the progressive cause, are dashing about screaming, “The sky is falling!!!” Well, in this case they’re screaming Arizona passed a law so they can round up people of Latino origin and either put them in detention facilities they would compare to or call concentration camps or deport them back to Mexico. The analogies to Nazi Germany are a huge part of their propaganda campaign. Anyone who sympathizes with Arizona’s action is a racist! Like Chicken Little, once another left wing hysteria campaign cuts loose, Chicken Little and the rest of the dumb clucks in their movement getting further support from the main stream media and sobbing celebrities in the entertainment industry repeat the Orwellian “big lies” which the barnyard clucks in the Liberal hen house are supposed to never question. After all, all the dumb clucks want to spread the word and if MoveOn.org raises a stink, well consider their edict to be marching orders.

The simple truth is the Arizona law essentially restates the Federal law committing the state to the same positions. Only those already stopped for some other probable cause can be questioned about their residency. Lost in all of this, in exchange for an alien’s presence in the United States, one must carry identification which identifies their presence as legal to begin with. The bottom line is anyone obeying the law cannot be processed by the terms of this law and would have a rock solid defense should a mistake be made. The Arizona legislature knew the kinds of things critics would assail and crafted a bill carefully to address all concerns.

Arizona is in a crisis situation. Phoenix leads the world in the number of kidnappings most part of drug gang activity. Its schools and hospitals have their resources spread thin and tax payers are picking up the tab for the illegal aliens being served by those vital institutions. The land along the southern border can be a chaotic lawless mess where adequate border defenses aren’t effective. It’s hard for folks in Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Wisconsin to understand such things and then there’s always the “red herring” that it’s obviously racist what they’re doing because nobody bordering Canada where nice white people live have similar concerns. Well, are there any floods of illegal aliens rushing the border crossing the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls? How are things going along the Washington/British Columbia border?

The motives of the Liberal Brain Trust are obvious. They’re using the race card as part of the game of identity politics attempting to divide the population, create a victim class and lock them in as loyal members of their cause. By attempting to identify those who want to control the borders as racist, they seek to create hysteria among all who they can nudge to thinking themselves as a persecuted minority. By creating a picture of racism directed against Latino, they bridge the lawful Latino population who obeys the law who came here legally with those here illegally. In fact, if all were on the table and the issue discussed honestly, should not those who worked hard to be here legally be offended that others are attempting to gain the same rights and privileges they enjoy without paying the price?

All across the nation, Left-Wing Chicken Little’s are demanding boycotts of everything Arizona, a state facing economic hardships spread thinner by the damages of the lawlessness flooding in from south of the border. Some measures go as far as orders from the governor, votes by state legislatures and city councils. They have a big target in mind, Major League Baseball’s All Star Game scheduled to play in Phoenix in 2011. Such events bring much money into a region with the media and fans that come into the area for such an event. MoveOn.org among others is putting the heat on MLB to play the game somewhere else. Surely, something will be directed at the BCS for the Fiesta Bowl as well. It won’t stop until they see they are being ignored and the events take place successfully anyway.

Insisting on the rule of law is not racist. Demanding action against those who work around immigration law is not racist.

The same old refrains keep being sung. Barack Obama is leading the chorus screaming it’s unfair to target people based on their ethnicity, skin color, style of dress, or how they talk. How convenient. Of course we don’t persecute those who speak French who might cross into America along the Canadian border with upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. We don’t have a problem with Anglican/Canadians entering America. Once again, here’s the Liberal “big lie” at work. The reason we don’t is there is no problem with Canadians. If such an influx were creating problems among the northern border states, the results would be similar. Just like most terrorists who’ve acted against the United States are Islamic most illegal aliens are Latinos mostly from Mexico.

Honesty and reality are a real problem for the left. Because they want something to be a certain way, they think their ideological dreams and schemes are so noble any means to reach their ends will always be justified. Demonizing their opponents and lying about what’s really going on is fair game.

We would hope regardless of where all Americans stand on this issue, they would first at least learn the facts of the situation and then make up their minds. This writer is not convinced Arizona’s approach is the correct way to go, but also accepts the problem is out of control and demands immediate action something that was not forthcoming until they took their action last month.

Take the emotion ginned up by the radical left out of the picture and deal with the real problems that exist in Arizona, then the rational discussion and content of the subject matter aren’t so far fetched.

Arizona Immigration Controversy: READ THE LAW

The misconceptions about the Arizona effort to control the tide of illegal aliens entering through the state's south border and taxing the state resources are out of control. The agenda driven left-wing crowd who define the truth as whatever needs to be said to obtain their ideological goal are at it again.

x

While our sympathies do not reside with the approach many conservatives demand, we must have an orderly process which defines how foreigners may obtain residence in the United States. There must be clear, understandable, enforceable policies for those who violate the law. Most importantly, those who traffic in bringing in illegal aliens or entice aliens to come to America to be employed illegally must be held responsible and face legal action accordingly.

x

We cannot let the current situation drive our country into a state of xenophobia or anti-immigrant hysteria. We are a welcoming nation. All of us come from somewhere that is not from sea to shining sea.

x

Here's the law. It clarifies the issue and shoots holes through the outrageous claims of racism and persecution the left is screaming. The problem is, resolving immigration issues is supposed to be a Federal responsibility. What is a state to do when the National Government fails to fulfill its duty?

The media must stop its misrepresentation of the issue and stop fanning the hysteria without reporting the facts first.
x
The immigration mess is tangled up in a vicious web between government inaction, the extreme and incomprehensible stance of the left and the knee-jerk reactionary stance of some on the right. Meanwhile, the problems persist and lives are in the balance.

Russian Adoption Tragedy: Message to Mother -- Kids Don't Come with Satisfaction Guaranteed Warranties -- YOU IDIOT!

What kind of weird reflection on the American psyche is the case of a Tennessee adoptive parent who sent her child back to Russia because she felt she could not control the child’s behavior?

Reality check: Parenting is the ULTIMATE responsibility. Even the most perfect children provide some mighty tough challenges. There are, of course, many children with special needs, some of which could involve behavioral issues. Such things don’t make these bad kids, but do require greater effort and more skill on the behalf of the parent.

The bottom line is one’s child, whether natural born or adopted, represents a profound responsibility for which the parent must accept until the child has completed his or her schooling and is ready for living independently which we generally accept as 18 years old in our culture.

With this in mind, the case of parent Torry Ann Hansen in Tennessee is most disturbing and the twists and turns of this case are even more bizarre. The mother, an east Tennessee resident, claims her adopted son, Artyom Savelyev renamed Justin, from Russia had been terrorizing her family since his arrival in the United States. Rather than attempt to work with any social services agency or seek help for the boy, she purchased a one way ticket from Tennessee to Russia and sent the kid all by himself back to Moscow with a note taped on his chest, “I no longer want to parent this child. He is violent and has severe psychopathic issues/behaviors.”

The seven year old boy was sent away with just a backpack with some cookies and a coloring book.

The Russians, outraged at this tragic occurrence, have threatened to end all adoptions between Russia and American parents. While the Russians are understandably upset, this event in no way reflects on the adoptive system in the United States or our government. There’s little anyone could do to stop a woman who executed her sickly plan on her own.

Thus an international episode now has bureaucrats in Washington scrambling to resolve with the State Department fully involved in the issue. While we could comment on the dysfunctional relationship between the United States and Russia and bemoan what a mess the Russian system is, we find this episode a very sick reflection on a mindset that manifests itself on many levels in today’s society. The episode is serious enough that a high level state department has been dispatched to Moscow to resolve.

A child is a human being, not a commodity. Adopting a child is not like ordering the latest book or gizmo from Amazon.com. Anyone seeking to adopt a child must do so with eyes wide open and realize there will be difficult challenges along the way. Children can get sick, get injured, have learning difficulties, or have behavioral issues. Kids don’t come with operating manuals or guarantees.

The arrangements she made for the child upon reaching Russia were transacted on the Internet for $200. Who the heck was she dealing with to receive this poor boy? Could that Russian entity have possibly been a pedophile or some other kind of deviant?

This sick woman had options through state child services and charitable foundations. The kid could have taken care of in any number of humane ways where he would hopefully get some proper attention.

Regardless of what the particular issues are with this kid or what behavioral problems he might exhibit, what Ms. Hansen did is a grotesque example of child endangerment and abuse.

We sincerely hope she will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We fear what is more likely is that she will make the afternoon talk show rounds selling her story while playing the roll of victim.

Torry Ann Hansen represents the worst of the “ME” generation that everything is all about her and that a child is simply an object that can be used a commodity to be transferred about as she sees fit.

The mother claims she was misled by the Russian adopted agency. Oh well, let buyer beware! She had the responsibility to investigate all aspects of the tremendous commitment she was undertaking. There’s no way out for Ms. Hansen. She screwed up and is responsible for her decisions.

One more question… was there a father in the picture? If not, why?

What a horrible slap this is against all those who adopt children responsibly and open their hearts and homes to give a misfortunate child a good life.

Ravens Play Atlanta: One More Last Chance As Final Positions Are Secured

xxxxxxxx
xx

One Last Preseason Game Against Atlanta and Then What???

Place: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore
Time: 7:00 pm
Television: WBAL-TV, Channel 11; MASN2
Weather: 71F, showers
Odds: Baltimore -- 2 1/2, 33 o/u

Okay, those irate fans who put in the whammy to make sure Kyle Boller would not be the Ravens’ starting Quarterback, your wish came true. Ozzie Newsome, announced, that Boller’s shoulder injury is serious and may require surgery. Troy Smith has played in four NFL games and only started two. Joe Flacco is a rookie. Smith is a former Heismann trophy winner for Ohio State, a team that had National Championship potential in Smith’s final year with the Buckeyes. At 6’0” Troy Smith is considered by many to be too short to be an effective pro quarterback. Flacco has the height and an arm capable of tossing way deep down field. Flacco’s school, Delaware, is a Division I-AA team from the Colonial Athletic Association with rivals like Towson, James Madison, Hofstra, Massachusettes, and Richmond as rivals. These schools are far below the caliber of play Smith fought in the Big 10.

The Ravens might be well advised to find a capable veteran quarterback FAST! Daunte Culpepper is available. For those fans who are quick to vilify Boller’s performance as a Raven, don’t forget he was forced into starting duty in his rookie year, 2003, when he started nine games. Despite promise which helped get the Ravens to a Wild Card birth, Boller never completely caught on hastening the Ravens to acquire Steve McNair at the end of his career for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. When returned to the starting position in last year, Boller’s performance was miserable.

Flacco is most likely the team’s long term answer for Quarterback, but to jump from a polite East Coast Conference to the AFC North is too much to ask right off the bat. Smith’s Ohio State background has him better prepared for the hoopla, but still all he has going for him are two pro starts.

Defensive lineman, Dwan Edwards, is gone for the season. The Ravens traded a late 2009 draft pick to aquire Marques Douglas as a backup defender.

We’ll go into more detail on the Ravens when we preview the season before opening kickoff on Sunday, September 7.

This will not be the ordinary, go through the motions, put the evil eye on a few players for the final cut, the Ravens contest against Atlanta will be very important in sizing up where the Ravens need to go early in the season.

John Harbaugh, the rookie head coach, has his work cut out for him as he transitions to the regular season. It could be worse. He could be a few miles down I-95 and working for Danny Snyder.

This is a game to watch!

BOYCOTT Tyson Foods: Tyson Food Provides Observance of Islamic Holiday Instead of Labor Day

Tyson Food Makes Chicken $#@# out of Chicken Salad in Holiday Observance

Tyson Foods has elected to give its employees at their Shelbyville, TN plant a paid day off for Eid al-Fitr, the Moslem holiday which marks the end of Ramadan. The Islamic holiday will be honored in place of the Federal holiday, Labor Day. The plant of 1,200 workers has approxiately 700 Somali immigrants on its workforce who negotiated this change through their union.
For more information, check the following article from World Net Daily. There are numerous articles on the Internet about this.

Right Minded Fellow appreciates the vital role immigrants play in our society, deplores immigrant bashing and much of the hate rhetoric directed toward visitors and citizens from foreign lands, and embraces President Bush's concept of a "welcoming" society. RMF also deplores in the strongest terms illegal immigration particularly the employers who lure foreign citizens to work in the United States illegally exploiting their victims with substandard wages, un-American working conditions, and exposure to all kinds of risks to their health and safety.

RMF believes it is every person who intends to call the United States of America his or her home must learn English and should participate in cultural celebrations, honoring American holidays, and learning American history along with the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. It is the immigrants' responsibility to assimilate into American culture not for American business to assimilate to foreign cultures except to the extent that employers can help support its immigrant work force become educated in those subjects that will help them live productive American lives. RMF also supports unconditionally the Constitution's provisions regarding that Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion or the free expression there of. This logic also provides sound guidance for corporate policy. Companies should be tolerant of the various religious beliefs of its employees allowing employees to feel comfortable and unthreatened about their beliefs but making specific provisions to accomdate the rituals of an individual religion that impinges on the normal daily work routine where practictioners are granted special favors such as specific break time for religious reasons which is above and beyond break time provided workers as part their daily schedule is unacceptable. In a company's employee compensation package provisions for vacation and personal days should be flexible to allow people of faith the ability to take time off for religious observances that aren't part of the regular company calendar. This approach has worked effectively to give Catholics time to observe Ash Wednesdays and Jews to observe their high holy days. Such sensitivity should also be observed in accomodating Moslems or members of any other less commonly observed faith. Denying American employees from observing a long standing American holiday for the sake of a minority religious holiday is wrong and perhaps shows political correctness running absolutely crazy.

Tyson Food has its American customer base, largely Christian, and many who have serious concerns about the spread of a religion that is quick to demand special accomodation while showing little evidence of vocally policing its own ranks when followers of that religion have resorted to rioting and terrorism in the name of Allah. While Christians and Jews routinely tolerate the satire and often outright abuse of their religious icons, western society is also aware of the riots that swept Europe when a Danish cartoonist mocked Mohammed showing some of the contradictions of the religion versus how some of its members use it it justify horror. When we consider the vile depiction of Jesus in some recent modern art displays some funded by the National Endowment for the Arts including the infamous work of Andres Serrano which includes the image of Jesus submerged in urine. Our tax dollars through the NEA paid for that attrocity!

In the current culture of political correct, elitist, left-wing, anti-American extremism, attrocities against the religions practiced by the vast majority of Americans are common place. Students of science quickly learn atheistic views are at least implied in the lab environment. People of faith who assert themselves in the wrong public settings are vilified, ignored, and pushed out of any public arena while some of the same public organizations who'd ban displays of the ten commendments or other personal religious artifacts, entertain proposals for providing feet washing stations, designated prayer areas aligned to face Mecca, and even providing or storing prayer rugs for Islamic believers. How can the attack on traditional passive icons recognizing Christianity and Judaism be oppressed where even traditional Christmas decorations are increasingly being prohibitted be seen as justified just as all kinds of accomodations are being provided for the religion observed by governments, terrorist groups, and cults sworn to kill us? RMF acknowledges most Moslems particularly residing in America deplore terrorism and are just as American as the next guy. Accomodation for their religious activities should be no more or less than what Christians and Jews enjoy.

The actions supported by Tyson Foods Shelbyville, TN operation has leaped way over the line against traditional American values and in support of recognizing the rituals of one religion over other relgions.

RMF cannot justify supporting Tyson's with his customer choices and asks his audience to do the same. Why not consider Purdue product, a Maryland company and major employer on Maryland's lower Eastern Shore. Perdue Farms is an active corporate citizen in the region sponsoring the DelMarVa Shorebird's stadium and providing significant contributions to Salisbury University and Wor Wic Community College.

Nothing written in this piece suggests in any way there is a connection between Tyson Foods and disgraced boxer, Mike Tyson. We do not imply or suggest that the Food companty has anything to do with the criminal and anti-social behavior of the fallen heavy-weight champion.
