Ben Roethlisberger's Concussion

Enough already!

If the dude got his noodle rattled, HE SHOULD NOT PLAY. Head injuries are nothing to mess with as there are plenty of punch drunk and loopy NFL veterans who receive little publicity for the sacrifice they made for their sport.

In the macho jock culture, there's always the notion of tough guys supposed to tough it out. Some maladies are okay for that but not the noggin.

It's kind of tough hearing old vets like Tom Matte talk about the things players used to do to fight it out back in his day suggesting the sport has turned soft.

The truth is, today we know better especially given advances in medical science.

All NFL players give their young bodies to the game and will likely suffer some permanent harm for what they have given their sport. Brain damage should never be one of those items.

The NFL is listening and getting tougher. This is the right thing to do.
