Obama's European Tour

Never has a U.S. President’s trip to Europe been designed to create the kind of hoopla Barack Obama’s first trip overseas has managed to stir up. The hype would seem to suggest this had the makings of all the drama and importance of the Allies’ big shots get together at Yalta during World War II. The sad thing about Barack Obama and history is his total lust for establishing his place in it while understanding none of it.

We could go on and on citing problems with Obama’s lofty excursion. What was most frightening to us was the appearance that the western European countries like Great Britain, France, and Germany that were always far to the left of even Bill Clinton now appear to be to the right of Obama’s mission. Up until now, the only forces we knew of that stood to the left of Euro-Socialism were hard core communist regimes.

We wouldn’t make a big deal about Obama bowing the Saudi king if it weren’t for he wasn’t as respectful to the Queen of England. If you’re a true American, who is more worthy of our respect? The nation that stands by us through thick or thin or the nation who manipulates us through their oil reserves and turns the money we spend on them to fund terrorists?

Obama’s constant sucking up to Islam without recognizing that radical Islam and the terrorists it develops is the greatest threat to all the civilized world values. No other threat comes close, though we’d better keep an eye on Russia and Red China. They are not our friends, but they’d better not become our enemies. The problem is Obama wouldn’t know one way or another.

It was insulting and downright demeaning to hear the many different ways our President talked down the United States having totally swallowed the Kool Aid of what the radical media attempts to build a case over concerning what they perceive as American abuses such as our treatment of terrorist detainees who faced harsh interrogation. While water boarding could be considered a form of torture, all it does is create momentary stress and no lasting damage. If that’s what it took to get Sheik Mohammed to fess up, GREAT!!! Let’s be real, if there are ANY methods available that could be used as a last resort to get the masterminds of the most hideous kinds of terrorism to blab their plans, why should any method be off the table if it comes down to the proposition of making a mess out of a known hard core terrorism and the life of good American citizens. We know what kinds of things Islamic society accepts as just day-to-day business such as the way they treat women for exercising freedoms that western women take for granted. We never hear Barack Obama speaking out for the human rights of women behind the veil of Islam, do we?

Why did Barack Obama have to make such a point of the United States is not a Christian or a Jewish nation? The implication is that we are simply a secular society. This again shows his ignorance of American history and its establishing documents. The justification for our existence as a free nation is under the provision we are all granted certain inalienable rights by our creator. Studying the manuscripts of Jefferson and Madison, again and again, they make reference to God’s influence and guidance. What the President who mistakes himself for a deity refuses to accept is that the United States is a country formed based on Judeo Christian values that realizes for the best we can be it is best to allow all citizens to practice or not practice religion as they see fit and that open discussion and debate on moral topics makes us all stronger. Today’s approach which Obama is clearly on the most extreme side of supporting is that religion has no place in civil discourse unless he can use it to further his own ambitions. His political stance is consistent with that of the ACLU whose prime interest is freedom from religion.

We are embarrassed that our chief of state would go over to Europe to talk down our people and our actions. Sure, as a new President, he is entitled to draw a line on how he differs from the previous President even though on virtually everything where they disagree, George W. Bush was right 99 44/100’s percent of the time compared to Obama vision. Our President should be our country’s greatest salesman, its number one advocate, speaking of American goodness and strength how we have stood by Europe and helped deliver it from its darkest nightmares. Where would Europe be today were it not for the United States military playing the lead roll in defeating the Axis powers of the German Nazis and Italian Facists? How far would Soviet Imperialism expanded were it not for the United States fortifying the free side of the Iron Curtain? While countries like Italy, Germany, and France have the luxury of maintaining relatively small military units, they can rest assured any act of provocation against them is an act of provocation against the United States and will be treated accordingly. Today, while the Europeans look down their aristocratic noses at us for what was our tough stance on radical Islam, whose going to fight to keep those bastards from destroying Europe? Naturally, when European security is at stake, they just call 911 and the United States answers.

For all those who think the European system and their society is more sophisticated than ours, let’s not forget who were the founders of the United States, those who left the tyranny and oppression of European despots or those who sought the freedom to explore life and liberty their own way free of the convention and restriction of the established European order. Considering the first real European encounter with the New World was Columbus in 1492 (yeah, we know about Leif Erickson, and those guys, earlier) and the first English permanent English colonies began in the early 1600’s, by the 1800’s the United States was not only a world power but also the center of innovation and leadership in virtually all endeavors. Be serious, is French wine any better than the good stuff from Sonoma or Napa valley?

Globalism is a joke and Barack Obama is the jokester foolish enough to try to ram it down the throats of the greatest civilization in the history of mankind. We needn’t make apologies or justify ourselves. We lead by example. We are strong. We are good. We should all unite in condemning Barack Obama as a hateful traitor who doesn’t have a clue what this great country is all about. Only Jimmy Carter can be mentioned in the same breath as projecting America as a cowering guilt-ridden nation not sure of its greatness.

Ronald Reagan, where are you?
