We are big fans of Diane Auer Jones, currently President/CEO of the Washington Campus but also as a person who has worked tirelessly in Washington behind the scenes in a wide variety of capacities in the past decade on science, academic, and educational policy matters, among her posts, policy advisor for the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Assistant Secretary of Education for Post Secondary. Ms. Jones also was a small business owner and biology professor. While enjoying tremendous conservative support and having intricate knowledge of policy matters, she is refreshingly apolitical when it comes to the Washington scene.
Ms. Jones currently blogs for the Chronicle of Higher Education. In the following article, she weighs in on the health care debate adding a very reasonable voice which is neither conservative nor liberal prescribing the proper mindset for how this issue should be deliberated.
