TAX DAY REALITY: Tax the Rich = IDIOT LOGIC

There is no justification for RAISING TAXES for higher income citizens that isn't at best way off target and at worst maliciously dishonest.
The idea that anyone is GIVING money to the rich is BULLSHIT!!!  Their income is money they earned. All citizens earned income belongs to them, those who earned it. It's not a stipend or grant from the government. The government has enacted laws granting the government the power to confiscate earnings -- that's what income tax is.

Since taxes are calculated as a percentage not a designated amount, the rich automatically pay more in taxes than those earning less, but the tax system is a graduated scale where the percentage the government takes increases at certain government determined levels. Currently, the government seeks to increase the percentage for family income over $250k or $200k for individuals.

Another lie is that the Republicans are currently actively pursuing to cut taxes further for the rich. They are attempting to keep taxes at their current rate enacted in 2002. Even if taxes were decreased on the wealthy, nobody is GIVING the rich anything.  They are simply being allowed to keep more of the money they legitimately earned.

As this date represents, all taxpayers are required to submit their tax return. For those who meet the criteria for tax deductions and itemize their taxes, they are required to provide documentation as requested in their 1040 instructions.

Claiming tax deductions is not TAKING money. That is BULLSHIT logic. The government has decided that there are some things people purchase or contract should be subtracted from the amount of income from which the government uses to calculate taxes. The term "taking" tax write-offs is inherently biased and dishonest. The suggestion that anyone is taking advantage of anything or anyone for claiming legal deductions is a lie. What is dishonest or unethical about people proving that they are allowed by law to keep more of the money they earned on the basis of what is permitted by the tax laws?

In the interest of true honesty, the government has created tax deductions and credits that are absolutely ridiculous. However, what is ridiculous is that congress enacted such write-offs. It is not ridiculous or selfish to claim deductions any more than it is to take a pile of coupons to the grocery store and taking "double value" when grocery stores allow such. Coupon clippers aren't ripping off their local supermarkets are they?

It is simply human nature for people to seek to protect that which is theirs and to want to keep as much of their earnings as possible. The citizens will consent to taxation if the tax system is perceived as fair and the benefits of how the government spends their tax revenue on obviously important services and infrastructure for the public good. When the tax system pits one segment of the population against the other, the system is corrupt and taxpayers will do all they can, sometimes even acting illegally to avoid their tax burden.

There is no question that the tax code and the pages and pages of tax deductions must be reviewed, simplified, and reduced. Where tax write-offs would be continued to exist, they should only remain if what the write-offs are granted for are so essential to the well being of the community or the cost of some expenditure is high enough for individuals that citizens would be harmed or their communities would be destabilized. Surely, the matter of something like tax credits or deductions for energy conservation is one instance where thoughtful debate is justified.

2011 is already more than 1/4 complete. Most people have not yet earned enough money in 2011 to pay their tax burden. This is wrong.

What the Democrats and their media echo chamber does not want to concede is that it would be to every one's benefit to let more people keep more of their income while at the same time not permitting more money being channeled into write off pursuits that aren't necessarily healthy expenditures. The less income earners spend productive time dealing with taxes and put more time into productivity, the better things are for ALL citizens. The more money earned, kept, and spent in the community benefits the entire community.

The American citizen should be angry about any suggestion he or she has a responsibility to help contribute to solving the national debt. The government created the debt through its own incompetence, lack of oversight, shallow political purposes, and lust for power. The government needs to clean up its own mess and every bit of the cleanup which helps the American people assume more responsibility for themselves and less dependent on the government the better off the whole society will be.

Disgruntled Workers of the World Unite -- Obama Has Lawyers for You!!!


If you don’t like your boss, Barack Obama’s administration wants YOU to sue their asses. That’s right – if you don’t like your boss, they’ll even set you up with a lawyer on a contingency basis. They describe this as part of their “Middle Class Initiative.”

That Barack Obama would support such a thoroughly ridiculous policy is very revealing. First, it embraces that the employee/manager relationship is inherently adversarial. This notion is the fundamental assumption of Marxism – the dialectic between those who control the means of production against those who do the producing.

According to Labor Department statistics, over 40,000 employees call each year with gripes about their bosses but because of budget constraints (in Obama language that means the government is not spending enough money) only 10% receive service. Thus the administration is working with the American Bar Association (ABA) to provide a toll-free number to connect the grievous workers with lawyers where typical issues supposedly often deal with minimum wage, overtime, and family medical leave. The administration’s pitch states, “a new effort between the federal government and private bar to assist complainants who may need help with worker rights.”

The absurdity of this system is beyond belief. For all the pressures put on business by government mandate which especially hit hard on small businesses on tight margins struggling to survive, this confrontational legalistic Marxist approach, introduces the high probability of frivolous lawsuits which no matter how lacking in merit can still run up tremendous expenses in legal fees in defense of such idiocy. The history of this administration has thrown some lip service to the plight of small businesses but in reality nails them to the wall such as working to comply with Obama “care.” For the world of organized labor, such provisions of how to handle such disputes are handled by the labor bureaucracy while such companies have legal departments for the explicit purpose of dealing with such assaults. With this in mind, this law clearly targets non-union shops and where are most of the non-union shops – among the ranks of small to medium businesses. Even before the Obama administration, no Federal department has more lawyers other than the Justice Department than the Department of Labor.

Clearly most employee/management disputes are communication problems. Only in the rarest instances are employers purposely or knowingly acting illegally against their employees. Often employees might feel ill-prepared to address their supervisors, not know what to say, or simply have an attitude which translates into blame against their bosses. Larger companies have human relations staffs which help provide a nonthreatening stage which helps provide constructive intervention.

The bottom line is if workers feel they are being treated unfairly, it is there responsibility to put up or shut up. The tough question is are they truly committed to doing what’s expected of them or are they looking for loopholes to leach off of their employers because they do not possess positive attitudes toward work and have personal values with a strong work ethic.

Employees who are not being paid minimum wage, do not receive overtime, or are forced to do things that are contrary to labor law surely deserve justice. Perhaps some stage of mediation would be appropriate. Often it would simply be clarifying to the employee or maybe the employer what the appropriate guidelines are. To immediately call out the heavy artillery of the legal system is a dreadful overreach, Marxist philosophy in its most basic form.

So if this were necessary, how about this? If the employee loses his case, then he will be held responsible for reimbursing his employer for the employer's legal fees and time spent in preparation for the initiated legal proceedings?  The possibility of abuse and frivolous lawsuits cannot be underestimated.

More than 50% of Washington Area Kids Live in Single Parent Homes: The Washington DC Bastards You Don't Hear About

Is it any wonder that the city that invented the welfare state and used the Federal Government as a tool to systematically destroy morality and family unity should be cited for an incredibly high incidence of out of wedlock children living in single parent homes. Washington DC, particularly the eastern part of the city and Maryland's Prince George's County, particularly inside the Beltway in the shadows of Fedex Field are the areas most affected not to mention being just a short distance from Baltimore which faces similiar problems. For an area that was quick to roll out the welfare state, the result is the breakdown of society where no prevailing moral authority exists and public schools serve as enablers rather than helping to raise young people to develop responsible values and to prepare for a life of responsible living. Despite having a dynamic and assertive school system leader who was promptly fired when a new mayor took office, DC schools are among the nation's worst. Prince Georges County is not much better. The school climate with teachers incapable of purposeful instruction, disasterous test results, and dreadful discipline function hand-in-hand with dysfunctional homes to create generations reproducing generations of citizens with very low expectations for life likely to be recipients of government handouts. Between the roll of social policies, inferior schools, and no true family unit, the results are pure chaos where children are born with two strikes against them. Nothing in the the roll of public institurions truly are designed to elevate citizens out of their dependency but instead function to lock them into a system where the threat of losing their benefits makes them predisposed to support the politicians who claim to support them but in truth support the very measures that will ensure generations of losers to come.

Until we insist on demonstrating behavior has consquences and certain decisions are wrong, nothing will happen. As long as schools promote values of wishy-washy political correctness that avoid addressing irresposible choices at all costs, nothing good will happen.

The answers are hard to come by but demonstrating that good choices have good consequences would be a good place to start. No welfare benefits should be granted without certain stipulations and responsibilities having to be met. Schools must stop making excuses for dystunctional homes, realize this is from where their students come, and develop educational programs and teaching strategies that will get these kids doing well in school and assimulating positive values.

In an area where big intrusive government is the prevailing industry, it's little wonder that the worst results of such government would be so obvious in the area where such nonsense is legislated into being.

We must make our government rsponsible that it ensures no child is doomed to a life of misery and perpetuating such misery to the next generation.  We cannot afford maintaining such an immoral status quo.

Good Student Expelled in North Carolina Victim of Idiotic Zero Tolerance Discipline

Dangerous Weapons????

Any parent whose child attends a school that boasts of a zero tolerance discipline policy should be scared, VERY SCARED, what could happen to his or her children as there is no rhyme or reason, only bureaucratic intolerance guiding how school rules are administered in today's politically correct, morally bankrupt public schools. Terrorist suspects are accorded far more legal protection and due process than honors students through out the nation.

Here's the latest. A girl in North Carolina grabbed her father's lunch box by mistake. In in was a small pairing knife. The school decided to subject students to search for drug possession -- what happened to the presuption of innocense and 4th amendment rights for the crime of being a good student.

Local superintendent indicated such procedures are aimed at what's good for the students stating, "Bottom line is we want to ensure every student feels safe on campus."

Oh really, when a kid makes a minor, very undertandable mistake the kid is subject to being treated like a criminal, THAT'S FASCISM.  The outcome would surely be making kids paranoid.

It's time that we as the taxpayers who support these public institutions for their cruel, insensitive behavior toward the next generation of America. We must show them the same kind of zero tolerance for their incredibly stupid conduct they show our kids.

NFL Means "No Fun Legal" For Delaware Sports Betting

First, Right Minded Fellow is not a fan of big time gambling. A friendly poker game among some good pals, an office football pool, or those great NCAA tournament bracket competitions are all great fun, but what goes on in a commercial context and lotteries run by states are not all as innocent as they appear. It’s one thing to budget a little bit of money as part of an afternoon or evening’s entertainment and play a few ponies. If you’re clever, you might break even or even get a little boost in the bucket, but don’t count on it. Gambling is for recreation, period. Anyone who thinks of greater rewards or seriously thinks of getting big payoffs is deluding himself. If someone wants to budget a certain amount of money for lottery tickets and voluntarily pay more state taxes, that’s fine. But don’t let yourself feel you’re being charitable, that the five dollars you spend is five dollars more for education than if you didn’t play. It all goes through the state budget process, but targeted lotteries have helped build stadiums and that’s a good thing.

The evil is that the gaming industry and state lotteries do prey on stupid people. It’s one thing to play with the idea that the money you bet is money you’re spending to have a little fun and leave it at that. Playing Black Jack for instance can be a load of fun. If a person buys a lotto ticket twice a week, that’s cool. Sometimes it’s kind of nice to dream of what it would be like to have lots of money, but truth be told, you’re more likely to die from a comet falling out of the heavens and squashing you like a bug than winning the big lotto. Still, somebody’s going to win it, and it might as well be you? Right?

The sad thing is, go in any economically disadvantaged neighborhood, and you can almost tell what time of the day it is or if it’s drawing day for the big prizes by the lines at lottery terminals at liquor and convenience stores. In Central Maryland, the Maryland lottery has been especially effective marketing their product to working class and lower African American residents who spend far more than just a couple bucks when they’re in line. Many have a written out list of various boxing combinations and schemes to win the daily numbers games and the lure of the big lotto games and a few scratch offs also figure into the transaction. That states actively cater to creating a mindset that if one plays their lottery games, “You gotta play to win,” a one dollar lotto ticket could be their ticket out of poverty, their chance to escape from a meaningless low paying job, their chance to be rich enough to hobnob with celebrities and sports stars at all those fancy clubs. If you can dream it, a lottery victory will pay for it. It’s one thing if someone has some blow money to spend on such adventures, but when it’s at the expense of one’s children having clothes for school or lunch money, that’s sinful. Yes, folks there really is sinful behavior. Deal with it.

Given that is our philosophy on gambling, we believe it should be legal but we really need to do some serious soul searching about our states running lotteries that are so accessible and becoming more accessible and more varied all the time with no regard of how such marketing preys upon ignorant members of the population. Greedy state legislators see it as a way to have more money to spend, but even in the states with the richest lottery receipts, how much difference does the lottery make in terms of keeping state taxes low?

To think that it does is a myth. They’ll always push the budget as far as they can if the state requires a balanced budget, raise taxes at the last minute screaming EMERGENCY!!!

Delaware seeks to have parlor betting on sports events where folks going to the right destinations in the state could bet football games. The courts say “no” on the basis of a 1992 Federal ban on sports wagering. While we don’t encourage Delaware’s behavior, if that’s what the voters and their elected representatives want to do, they should be able to do so. Once again, the big Federal government is calling the shots on things that can be handled appropriately by states.

Delaware is a state with very low taxes on its citizens and businesses because they are geniuses at soaking up revenue from out of state. America’s second smallest state geographically, hardly a hop around the block in the northern area where I-95 travels through to Philadelphia or drivers veer off to cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge to hop on the New Jersey Turnpike. For starters, for the cost of 35.7 cents per mile, $4.00 toll in both directions, Delaware registers roar “cha-ching.” This little segment of I-95 does not connect anywhere in Delaware to anywhere else in Delaware, local streets do that; this is all money from out of state drivers. Add to that, much of the traffic goes on to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, “Ch-Ching!!!” Those entering Delaware pay $3.00, split 50/50 with New Jersey. Heading to Dover or to the Delaware Beaches, Delaware Highway 1 is the way to go. There are little nickel and dime tolls from I-95 down to Dover. Up in the narrow north, Delaware Park lures gamers and horse racing fans from the whole mid-Atlantic with Washington and New York within two hours drive. Dover Downs has more of the same half way down the state. The Delaware beaches serve Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. Delaware is very good at making money off of out-of-state visitors who come to the state to have fun. Add to that, two NASCAR Sprint cup races with around 150,000 fans twice a year, “Ch-Ching!!!” And Delaware doesn’t even charge its guests sales tax.

With four major cities in easy daytrip range, sports betting is another big “Cha-Ching.” From the MD line along the coast and US-13 on up to the northern squeeze, with lots of hotel space along the shore and in Dover, why not go to Delaware and go crazy on NFL Sundays?

Well, the NFL says no and the Federal courts agree.

The Cash for Clunkers program ends on Monday – goodbye and good riddance. Here’s yet another classic example of how the road to hell is paved with liberal “good” intentions. It further illustrates how incapable the government is at administering anything and puts particular focus on how bumbling and incompetent the Obama administration is.

The concept was supposed to be simple, a “win-win” strategy to the extent that liberals intervening in the free enterprise environment can understand such a thing. It was supposed to be a big win for the struggling auto industry and dealers by providing quick incentive for folks to buy a beautiful new fuel efficient car with the possibility of up to a $4500 rebate. It was also supposed to be an example of green thinking, doing something good for the environment, because it stipulated to get the cash, the car buyer would have to trade in a gas guzzling clunker as defined by the measure and traded in for a new car that qualifies. Traded in cars would have to be rendered immediately incapable of ever being driven again and crunched for recycling. Hey, some of these were perfectly good vehicles – fine late model SUV’s, full-sized pickup trucks, and slightly aged cars with plenty of life in them which could be great vehicles for someone to drive somewhere.

Quickly some of the public responded. In terms of buyer response, the program looked quite successful, but guess who benefitted from it the most? Not General Motors, not Chrysler – but Toyota and Honda were cleaning up as they manufacture plenty of qualifying cars almost exclusively built in the United States in right to work states with labor contracts that provide good wages but don’t bankrupt the manufacturer. Of the top selling cars in the program, only Ford had an entry. That seems like a little bit of poetic justice as they were the one domestic automaker who didn’t need the taxpayers to save their company. The most frequently traded in vehicle is the venerable Ford Explorer. The best selling car earning the rebates is the ho-hum but high quality, Toyota Corolla.

The concept started with “Consumer Assistance to Recycle" and Save Act," H.R. 2751 leading to a measure when resolved between house and senate established $1 billion to fund this program, no need to go into the specifics of what qualifies, but the Explorer/Corolla combo gives a good illustration.

If consumer response measures success Cash for Clunkers “C4C” was a big success, anxious buyers brought in their vehicles, many of which were the best kind of rides on the market, paid for, took out loans, and drove home much more politically correct vehicles. Has anyone noticed how many liberals drive imported vehicles – how’s that for supporting the American worker who they claim to represent? Dealers immediately saw an increase in buyer traffic and moved much inventory even getting some assembly lines running again. All that would look good but remember who is administering this and more importantly who is paying for this.

This is not a game where carmakers inflate their list price so they can turn around and offer outrageous rebates making gullible customers think they’re getting some kind of special deal when the selling price was going to wind up requiring the exact sized loan regardless. It’s not an accounting trick of automakers any longer. This is real money where someone picks up the tab, and that person is the American taxpayer.

Quickly, the problems arose. The budgeted billion dried up almost immediately. Congress is not good at marketing projections. Congress is not good at much of anything other than making noise and wasting money, but that’s beside the point. Dealers were promised almost immediate reimbursement, but quickly they found payments slow, applications being returned as incorrect even if they were, and all involved got nervous. Some dealers even contemplated having customers sign waivers that they would owe the rebate if the dealer didn’t get reimbursed. What kind of deal is that?

Further, part of the plan requires that cars be rendered incapable of being resold not even stripped for parts to repair other vehicles so as part of the procedure, the engine’s motor oil must be drained and then replaced with sodium silicate. The engine then must be restarted until the sodium silicate (liquid glass) seizes up the engine and totally ruins it. Egads, how could anyone start up a nice American V-8 and do that!!!

Over budget, and scrambling for more funds, the program became the embarrassment right thinking people knew it was from the beginning and now it has just been announced the program is over as of Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:00 pm. Though limited in scale and intended to be short time, it’s yet another clear illustration of the futility of the Federal Government trying to run anything without gross mismanagement and going way over budget. Dealers are getting screwed for willingly participating only to be caught up in red-tape and incompetence getting their money back when they are already struggling financially to begin with.

The one good thing about Cash for Clunkers is that soon it will come to an end, a fate that seldom comes to any incompetent, ill-conceived, over-extended government program. The big loser is the tax payer who’s paying for this. Why should a private citizen underwrite the auto purchase of his neighbor?

The most important lesson to be learned is if the government can’t manage a small program like this, how can anyone expect them to run the health care system? The same incompetents and losers will be running that too if we don’t stop them.

While groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) maintain their constant attacks on our national security and our country’s inspiration, that they are able to wage their irrational nonsense is doable because of the very United States Constitution whose meaning they twist and obscure to justify their treachery while the ground on which they stand is protected by the soldiers they seek to embarrass and defile through such actions as revealing confidential photos that could be easily misinterpreted by those who would harm our republic.

Our nation was founded on the belief, “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” We repeat this notion often for it is the essence on which our country was founded and the framework for our government was established. The Declaration of Independence further asserts, “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” This defines the source of government’s power. It does not empower judges, political parties, or Presidents to do so except as consented to by the public at large.

To ensure our government would operate in accordance to these simple principles, the United States Constitution and its subsequent amendments were enacted to create the legal and moral framework from which our government could operate. In translating how the Constitution should impact the citizens, the First and Second Amendments helped define specific freedoms the government could never deny:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (First Amendment to the United States Constitution)

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed .(Second Amendment to the United States Constitution)

As simple and essential as these concepts are, our citizens face constant challenges to these basic principles often using a bloated and over reaching judiciary that sets its own agenda and twists Constitutional concepts, out of context and against the spirit of the documents themselves, to create an imposing agenda that ever increasingly asserts the role of an all-powerful government as if their position appointed by the executive and approved by the legislative is to set forth the role of the government regardless of how at odds their notions are to what the American people would ever give their consent.

Witness the merciless attack on the open expression of public recognition of God in the workplace or in any assembly where the government plays a role or are held on property of the state. Displays of the Ten Commandments, Christmas decorations, or items which express individual affirmation of faith are routinely banned and those bans are upheld by the secular tyranny of the court.

Clearly “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” was written to assure that the newly developing national government and individual states would not establish an official religion for its citizens mindful that the Church of England was a product of the British crown and that many colonists fled Great Britain specifically to escape from persecution against their practice of religion. Some colonies were centered on the faith of their founding settlers whether it was Catholics in Maryland, Quakers in Pennsylvania, or Puritans in Massachusetts. While recognizing the contribution the pursuit of religious freedom played in the establishment of the colonies that would form the original states, such founding should never turnabout to create environments of faith-based colonies that recognize one faith to the exclusion of others. Our founding fathers obviously accepted the roll of our Creator despite vastly differences of what kind of figure that creator was among the gifted minds who developed the core philosophies from which our government emerged.

The current attack on religion clearly takes aim at “the free expression thereof” not by denying such things as mandatory school prayer which would impose some prayer developed by the state on school children, but instead censoring the open expression of religious faith by teachers, public employees, or even those in the private sector where the government believes it has a controlling interest, an interest that is growing more and more as the government is now in the banking and automotive industry advancing issues of more instances of government action contrary to Constitutional guidance on contract law and financial independence.

Court cases are in various stages toward rulings on whether “one nation under God” is state imposition of religion on school children or is simply recognition of that which our founding documents clearly recognize. If the secular extremists are successful in using the radicalized court to win that battle, is the next battle front “In God we Trust” being removed from our money. When one looks at the genesis of the nation’s current economic crisis, perhaps it is valuable to be reminded our trust in God remains because we’ve seen where our trust in government has led us. The warning signs of financial meltdown were everywhere to be found, but when President Bush sent members of his economic team to warn of an impending mortgage meltdown resulting from the lending practices Congress enacted in the name of “affordable housing” as part of the oversight function of government, they were promptly blown out of the hearing room by Democrats such as Barney Frank who decried their insensitivity toward those struggling to own their first home while the Republicans, then the majority party, lined up in “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” position not wanting to generate any bad news when the cha-ching of legitimate cash transactions were ever increasingly being replaced by the clicks and beeps of electronic transactions using credit cards and loan agreements that hold no trust for anyone but clear assertions what happens if the borrower defaults on his obligations. “In God we trust” quickly turns to “Lord have mercy” on those who could not or would not fulfill their responsibilities.

From the actions of the Bush administration in the early stages of the bailout program and instituting the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to the massive socialist intrusions of the Obama regime, constitutional wisdom falls by the wayside to a misguided sense of immediate urgency.

All the while, our courts and government organizations go way overboard to accommodate and not offend members of the Islamic faith giving them the kinds of specific accommodations the courts have yanked away from less demanding Christians and Jews from enjoying while radical members of the Islamic faith sworn enemies to our freedom, core beliefs, and all we hold dear conspire to attack our way of life killing 3000 Americans regardless of faith or nationality on 9/11/2001.

Our system seems more worried about the so-called rights of the plotters and planners or terrorism than making sure those whose lives were destroyed by the Islamic terrorists’ treachery struggle to seek just compensation for their losses.

Soldiers stand guard in Iraq and Afghanistan in two wars. Servicemen are stationed around the world and on and below the high seas ready for action whether it’s a full fledged military operation, dealing with pirates, or possibly just providing food and comfort for victims of a natural disaster. Others work in bunkers, offices, on airplanes, and ships in front of computers and other technological equipment monitoring the activities of nations like Iran and North Korea for their acts of treachery.

The silent hills of Arlington, Virginia and veterans cemeteries around the world tell the tale of those who gave all they had for the sake of our God-given freedom. As we write this knowing the inscription, “Here Rests In Honored Glory an American Soldier Known But To God,” we recognize the revulsion those who subscribe to the ACLU world view must surely feel at a state facility, the resting place for fallen servicemen, daring to provide such obvious recognition to our creator as what is inscribed on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Suppose an unknown soldier might be an atheist!!! If true, so be it. He is still unknown to all but God regardless.

We pray for our soldiers who stand watch to protect our freedom and thank our creator for the great opportunities we share as Americans. The events of 2009 provide each citizen ample opportunity to reflect on the remarkable wisdom providing every one of us the liberties we celebrate on this special holiday observance.

Let us not let the corrupt and misguided politicians and judges who’ve lost sense of the meaning of what the American experience is all about cloud our vision of they are employed and sworn to protect our liberties and that they serve us, not vice versa.

The first course of what the Obama Presidency joining forces with the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi congress has been served and the long term economic and social structure of the United States of America is at stake.


Gone is the campaign happy talk of hope and change you can believe in replaced with threats of catastrophe and doom. In a measure full of fat and lots of sweets for the traditional Democratic special interests groups, what’s severely lacking is anything of substance that will truly help stimulate the economy. In less than one month of the Obama Presidency, American society has been transformed more substantially moving toward a caretaker state than the total of the entire Great Society of Lyndon Johnson essentially undoing all the reforms achieved by Ronald Reagan’s visionary approach toward expanding the economy through expanding free enterprise opportunity and a strong national defense and gains achieved in the early stages of the house and senate turning to Republican rule under the “Contract with America.”

Here’s the epitome of the classic Obama supporter in full overdose mode on the Obama stimulant. This is from the President’s trip to conduct a so-called “town hall” meeting to push his dopey legislation last week. This is NOT a skit from Saturday Nite Live. It is real.

Doesn’t that punk make you glad you’re not a Democrat? And what flavor Kool Aid was he gulping?

The welfare reforms achieved by a Republican congress and Bill Clinton’s approval have all but been eliminated. Substantial funds are going to social welfare and reengineering programs consisting of a laundry list of social causes and pet projects that have long been the stereotyped image of the loose spending nanny state. Aid has even been targeted to the film making industry in Hollywood. How is that for undisguised rewards for blind loyalty as the celebrity crowd not only paid generously during the last eight years to discredit the Bush Administration through slander and misinformation through their mouthpieces like MoveOn.org and DailyKOS, but also went head over heels in their support for the Obama campaign like a love struck teenager high on sniffing glue, Diet Pepsi, and pop rocks?

That a measure with so many funding provisions with such a high price tag would be rushed through as quickly as it was with no time to be published for public reaction defines what it means to “pull a fast one.” In providing the final draft of the bill after clearing house and senate conferees, the Democratic leadership would not even provide the bill in electronic form to allow for easier research and searching for details. The Obama/Pelosi/Reid Socialization Act of 2009, weighed in over 1,000 pages. In the amount of time between finally being approved and presented for vote, no legislator could possibly have read the whole measure much less delegated it to staff and had ample time to confer and follow up on concerns over specific provisions. “The Devil is in the details” couldn’t be more appropriate as given the far reaching impact of where this spending is directed will surely result in “hell to pay” in the future both in terms of the actual cost of paying for the obligations it creates but also in expansion of the size and roll of government which permanently alters the ratio of money between the public and private sector. The private sector creates capital while the public sector squanders it. Further, as in any measure where public funds go to bailout or stimulate private sector entities, substantial requirements, the proverbial strings attached, divert private sector activity from productivity to documentation of compliance that government regulations are being adequately implemented.


Even for the sake of discussion, the pork barrel provisions in the government stimulus, we should say narcotic, bill are far too numerous to even begin to articulate but some of them are such powerful illustrations of the abuse and arrogance of power. The government nationalized passenger rail service in the 1970’s when it created Amtrak which constantly loses money while reducing the quality and level of its service. Harry Reid represents Nevada. Pork for the big pig supreme, construction of a high speed railroad from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is one massive Federal program in the bill creating an umbilical cord making the huge palaces of excess for the entertainment industry interconnected. At a time when California is struggling economically, this provides a one-way ticket for California money to be spent in Nevada on glitter and gambling.

The supreme arrogance of power is astonishing beyond anything seen in American politics. The shift to the extreme left is also especially disturbing as it reveals the true nature of the so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats who ran on a sense of fiscal conservatism mocking the big spending habits of the GOP during its majority rule. As shameful as those GOP excises were, they are but chump change compared to what the Obama Abolition of Free Enterprise as We Know it Disguised as a Stimulus program offers.

Going into the efforts that resulted in this bill, Obama was portraying himself as a consensus builder looking for a bipartisan seemingly centrist approach to attempting to breathe life into a dormant economy but the real Obama, the sweat talker who addresses the public in carefully measured surely focus group confirmed language, condemns the bill’s opponents and Republicans sounding like an angry Negro, and revealing through and through here’s a guy who never worked in the Senate long enough to properly understand how spending measures can snowball out of control and the content of the bill he so eagerly embrace likewise upholds his reputation of having been the most liberal member of the Senate from 2006-2008. Be nervous whenever Obama tries to sound African-American, as it’s all a put on for a fellow who never was immersed in an environment where such speaking habits could be learned until much later in life after his Ivy League education. It’s all an act to try to shake off his image as an ivory tower elitist.

Though the connection might not be immediately seen, it is not ironic from the big picture point-of-view that while the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Stimulus-Should-Be-Called-Narcotic Act of 2009, the Obama Administration is moving functions of managing the census from the Commerce department to the White House making the census count a much more political and less administrative activity. While attempting to cast a bi-partisan veneer on his administration by nominating Republican New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg after their golden boy nominee, Bill Richardson, former cabinet official in the Clinton administration, was forced to withdraw as a Federal corruption probe was inching ever closer to the sitting governor’s fat neck, the clear intent was that Gregg be Secretary in name only, vanity window dressing for an administration with other plans. The real agenda was political in moving the census to White House control. Is it any wonder Gregg withdrew his nomination? Gregg also voted against the Stimulus/Narcotic Bill.

Why is the census so crucial? Representing far more than just gathering data on where the United States population resides, these figures are used to determine representation in the House and the dispersal of targeted Federal Funds based on identified populations documented by the census count. Since the census does not represent a hard count of actual citizens and employs sampling and other statistical techniques, the methodology and how it is employed can be manipulated to create predetermined desires for certain outcomes. Besides that, political decisions determine who is and is not counted as shown by the last census. In North Carolina with its huge military population, its military bases were established as the residence for soldiers whether stationed there or overseas. In Utah with its substantial Mormon population, thousands of Mormons were serving overseas to fulfill their missionary commitments. They were not counted. North Carolina gained a congressional seat. Utah would have gained a seat had their overseas population been tallied. Further decisions can be made to help award population in certain parts of certain states where politically friendly governors can supervise redrawing congressional districts favorable to the party in power.

Politically drawn congressional districts are nothing new to the Mid-Atantic. There is the famous Interstate 85 corridor where a North Carolina congressional district was essentially the width of that Interstate highway to connect two predominately African-American population centers, one in the Raleigh-Durham area, the other in Charlotte, to create what would be a sure Black seat in congress. Meanwhile in Maryland, traditionally, its 1st, 2nd, and 6th congressional districts have trended Republican. Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore are primarily rural and small town populations strongly Republican. The 2nd district represented wealthy suburbs and exoburbs in Baltimore and Harford counties, strong conservative territory. Under the corrupt and incompetent leadership of Parris Glendenning, Governor of Maryland in 2000, the Maryland congressional map was radically manipulated to dilute the strong conservative populations for the West (5th district) and Eastern Shore (1st district) while rearranging districts surrounding Baltimore to ensure strong Democratic representation. Now the 6th district extends from western Maryland all along the northern boundary to the Susquehanna River dipping into the Baltimore suburbs along the York Road and Reisterstown Road corridors, both major arteries around which suburban population centers grow.


The 2nd district was pushed deeper into the industrial and more impoverished east side of Baltimore County. The 3rd district, one of two which took in much of Baltimore City begins in the Annapolis area, then twists and bends northward through Baltimore taking parts of the York and Reisterstown Road communities. A slice of the 1st district cuts east/west across Baltimore County crossing York Road into Owings Mills and Reisterstown. The Second District, now follows the western shore of the Chesapeake crosses the Patapsco River to take in Northern Anne Arundel County and South Baltimore while having another meandering strip through the north suburbs crossing the York Road and Reisterstown Road corridors snaking around to comprise about 1/3 of Baltimore County’s western boundary with Carroll County including the community of Randallstown. Maryland’s 3rd District snakes its way from Annapolis to Reisterstown at one point only being the width of Northern Parkway in Baltimore City to connect Parkville with Towson two adjoining suburbs which have a huge wedge cut between for Paris only knows what. Finally, the firmly minority district representing most of Baltimore City, the 7th District now extends far west of Baltimore including Catonsville, a very conservative traditional community, Columbia, and the largely semi-rural parts of western Howard County, largely white middle to upper middle class. Given the Afro-centric politics of minority districts, Catonsville and western Howard County have essentially no representation of their interests in Congress.

The absurdity, one can travel up York Road within a few blocks of Cockeysville and travel through three districts, only a small part of the 2nd district which once represented this community in total passes through while most of this large bedroom community is split between Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore. Travel south on York Road to the county seat of Towson, another District, the 3rd then back into the 2nd and then moving into the 7th only three blocks into Baltimore City.

The effect of Maryland’s redistricting is two fold. First, regions with similar needs and concerns are sliced up so that the real purpose of what the House of Representatives was supposed to serve to represent the people has instead been converted to one of political opportunism. Baltimore’s two most populated surrounding counties effectively have no clear voice in Congress. Harford County, one of Maryland’s fastest growing districts has no local representation. Effectively divided into thirds, the top third is lumped in with Western Maryland, the middle third is set with the Eastern Shore, and the southern third which includes substantial military population is lumped in with the industrial region of Baltimore County.

The second effect was to give the Democratic party a death grip on Republican congressional representation in Maryland. Most of the Democratic strength in Maryland resides primarily within the Beltways of Baltimore and Washington and the corridor between the two cities. Now only Western Maryland’s district which takes on the northern populations of Baltimore and Harford counties, likewise Republican strongholds, remains intact. The Eastern Shore could be a toss up but has been diluted by carefully adding strong Democratic areas on the western shore of the bay. In the last election, a Republican from the western shore ran against a Democrat from the other side of the bay and lost. The second district once represented the northern suburbs of Baltimore, most of Baltimore County and most of Harford County. This area was Republican, though a little more moderate than the strongly conservative west and Eastern Shore. Drive from the Baltimore City line ten miles north through the county seat of Towson and one would pass through four congressional districts, but once north of Towson along York Road, the main drag, at the outer end of the suburban sprawl rests Cockeysville, where in less than a mile, what’s left of its old district, one that represents the eastern shore, and one that represents western Maryland. This is all within one zip code, one elementary school district, just a handful of stop lights!!! As such, Maryland was a state with three strong Republican districts and a 4th district that belonged to a Rhino (Republican in Name Only). Now Maryland has only one strong Republican district and another that can easily be reduced to a toss up which turned Democratic in the last election. An honest mapping that reflects easily defined geographic areas with populations with similar interests and concerns would make Maryland a state with three certain Republican seats and four Democratic seats with one area that could possibly be designed to go either way, is so obvious. An honest application of census data would only involve moving boundaries a little bit one way or another based on balancing out the population. What was never intended is the farce cynically created by crass political opportunism that is the Maryland map today.

There can be little doubt that the kind of political use of the census is exactly what the Obama administration intends by moving the Census lead to the White House. Remember, Barack Obama is a product of the Richard Daley machine of Chicago politics one of the most corrupt and manipulative political enterprises in the country. The state of Illinois has long been famous for its manipulated districts. Maryland is in many respects a little Illinois. Outside of Chicago, Illinois is a largely conservative, heartland state. Maryland is much more like old Virginia the further one gets away from the Beltway regions. Speaking of Virginia, with a governor who is a close Obama ally and the rapid growth of the Washington suburbs, Virginia is a state that has been strongly Republican until recently that could easily be manipulated to create some new strongly Democratic regions. One can only imagine an I-95 corridor connecting the Alexandria region with Richmond or how the I-64 corridor could be used for political purposes to link Hampton/Newport News with Richmond. Hopefully, we’re not giving the scoundrels any ideas by mentioning this.

What’s the big deal can easily be summarized, the future makeup of the United States House of Representatives. This is the prize that has Obama’s eyes in his politicizing of the Census.

Take the worst of the Lyndon Johnson years and add the worst of the Jimmy Carter years, multiplied then add some hardy scoops of the Richard Daley Machine and the recipe for Obama politics is complete. With Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco treat and man-in-need-of-strong-enema, Harry Reid leading congress the recipe for disaster beyond belief is coming to a boil. The first big serving has been tossed on America’s plate, and that’s just the appetizer.

More on "The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008"


We recently reported on an issue raised by former Assistant Secretary for Post Secondary Education, Diane Auer Jones found in The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HR 4137). All institutions of higher education that provide student housing must now report students who are vacant from their dorm space for 24 hours or more as missing. We decided to take a look at this legislation for more outrages. First, this measure was buried deep in Section 488. However, the total measure consists of 431 pages of gobblety-goop micromanaging virtually all aspect of higher education other than explicity addressing cirriculum or tenure.


This shameful prime example of legislative excess was established simply to provide federal support for helping low and moderate income students attend college but in doing so tramples on virtually every square foot of every college campus.


What struck us as most concerning about this law is the depth and range Federal regulation extends its grasp upon how colleges and universities conduct their business simply as the strings attached for the schools accepting students who receive Federal loans or other measures of Federal funding.

These provisions are unbelievably specific in some instances and require tremendous resources to impliment, monitor, assure compliance, and report upon. As such, the overhead to the schools is enormous from having adequate legal counsel either on staff or contracted to interpret the legislation and make sure the school is compliant in every aspect. On top of that, the manpower and resource requirements to manage these requirements is substantial. On top of that, just by the size of the task load imposed by this law, so much administrative and leadership time is devoted to simply following this ridiculous work of bureaucratic interference run wild instead of focusing on the key issues that all schools should be devoted to promoting: quality education and a good learning environment for students; expert, timely, creative, and far-reaching research for the benefit of society, business and industry; and recruiting, developing, and retaining the best, most challenging faculty possible.


Is it any wonder that college costs have gone up so dramtically in the past 30 years far beyond the rate of inflation by multiple factors? Likewise, is it also not surprising that the college environment is being overtaken by personnel on all levels who have no problem with a big government approach to all aspects of the human condition. Is it any coincidence that college faculties have become the bastion of extreme left politics conservatives or those with traditional values need not apply.


American leadership has had quality higher education as one of its key foundations where our institutions of higher education were sought by the best and brightest around the world for their studies. Today, the product is increasingly being compromised, losing its sense of mission, and beginning to lose its lead over what is provided in other countries.


Our colleges and universities must be the best the world has to offer in providing expertise in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while continuing to provide an outstanding liberal arts education where schooling is not so much as learning the right answers for some master exam but asking the right questions about life in the real world.


Sadly, our great institutions are being reduced to essentially vocational traning facillities where every "i" is dotted and "t" crossed with fervent political correctness blindly complying with the multitude of overregulation by the Federal Government.

Who Are the Real Bad Guys?

Over the last two weeks, America has seen a lot of posturing and moralizing about Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer Mike Phelps’ being caught in a photograph puffing from a marijuana bong. Next came the revelation of steroid use by baseball’s arguably greatest talent, Alex Rodriguez. Capitol Hill figures like Chris Dodd and Barney Frank are up to their ears in responsibility for factors which helped bring on the current financial collapse. Wall Street big wigs and corporate executives who made faulty deals and ran their companies into the ground with little or no consequences and often gloriously rich far parachutes with little more than hand-wringing in reaction. How about a President who resorts to sheer demagoguery, threatening impending catastrophe, to justify support for the so-called stimulus package laden with pork, special interest handouts, and simply inexplicable wastes of money like funding for Frisbee golf courses!

In the span of just a few days, the Democratic party led by Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi with Harry Reid riding shotgun in the Senate as the pathetic whiner to reign in rivals for Senatorial control like Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer are pushing through a massive transfer of wealth from the private to public sector while tightening the grip the Federal government holds over private interests some of which have acted miserably and irresponsibly that perhaps would be better off left to their own devices to sink or swim rather than to have all the rest of us as individuals and corporations who have performed successfully give up our hard-earned assets to reward the incompetent, corrupt, and greedy.

Something’s rotten in California that doesn’t directly involve politics but it demands the nanny state come to the rescue, but how will it respond? Will it support the cult of victimology rewarding the irresponsible or will it look out for those most in need of help while seeking justice against the guilty?

We are referring to the Nadya Suleman fiasco and what will become of her multiple litters of children. Any right thinking person who saw clips of her interview on “The Today Show” could hardly help but feel a horrible sense of disbelief while at the same time experiencing vicious anger toward the insane and totally self-absorbed answers this sick, deranged woman provided. She spoke with conviction that once she finished her college degree she would have the means to provide for all of her children without any sense of just how much responsibility and attention such child care involves. Meanwhile, commentator after commentator couldn’t help but see a chilling attempted resemblance to Angela Joile, a mother of multiple children through adoption and natural birth who has the millions to hire all the resources necessary to care for those children, many rescued from wretched circumstances. Good old Angela! Why Brad Pitt would have dumped Jennifer Annison for the sake of this post-modern cat woman is another strange perversion of "me-ism" though we don't think we're smart enough to figure that one out. Where did Ms. Soleman get those big fat collagen enhanced lips for instance. Those artificial looking lips alone make this woman look like a pathetic freak as they are far beyond anything that could be perceived as looking natural. This is yet another sign of the woman’s extreme vanity and inability to deal with the real world and her circumstances as they should exist naturally.

As each day goes by, more and more is being reported about the life this pathetic woman has lived and the needs of her children. It is gut-wrenching beyond believe and how one’s self-centered “me” generation attitude pushed to its ultimate extreme can create a situation so tragic and cruel pushes the limits of human tolerance. Three of her six, half of her existing children suffer disabilities. Whether this are birth defects or the result of improper care and/or nutrition has not been determined yet. Second she has driven her parents, bankrupt. Additionally, while receiving disability income for an alleged back injury while working for a state mental facility where it seems now this woman should have been a resident not a worker, the state’s welfare system is her source of income to provide for her children. Meanwhile, they reside in a small modest three bedroom house, this sickly breeder of suffering children, the children, and her two parents. This is where the eight children will live once their incubator care is completed. The children currently at home haven’t adequate living space.

Cruelty and destructive behavior can wear many faces. We recognize that which is born from outwardly aggressive and angry behavior, but that which is self-centered or pretends to be motivated out of kindness is possibly more dangerous as many cannot recognize the danger until the damage is already done. Nadja Soleman was not able to produce fourteen children on her own. The medical system broke down to enable this. Just as the Obama “stimulus” is cloaked in all kinds of language being designed to help the needy and the public at large.

The Suleman tragedy demands quick, decisive action. First, all fourteen children must be taken by the state. They are already being financed by the state so custody should be transferred as quickly as possible. All the children need careful medical evaluation and observation. The possibility of lifelong problems grows substantially for children born well short of coming to full terms. The state should then find loving parents who would joyfully adopt these children and provide them with the nurturing environment we’d hope society would feel all children deserve. Second, Nadja Soleman’s conduct and finances need to be investigated thoroughly while she is given exhaustive intellectual capacity and emotional stability tests. She speaks with significant language skills with considerable conviction, but what drives a person to such totally irrational behavior? Is she totally nuts or is it more a matter of how she has assimilated signals from society which justify the extreme applications of the doctrine of self, support excessive individual indulgence and vanity, and have plenty of structures that can act as enablers for those who aren’t motivated to take care of themselves. That this would happen in the Los Angeles area should come as no surprise, the home of the Hollywood culture where vanity and excess rule supreme. Just a glimpse at the local morning programs which air before “Good Morning America’ and “The Today Show” show a community with a very different orientation than those of us who live in "flyover country." KTTV, the local Fox station, presents network slut best known as the dim-witted weather girl for Fox NFL pregame shows, Julianne Reynolds with co-anchor status where she presents weather but also celebrity gossip which commands equal if not more attention than the soft news generally shown on such shows elsewhere.

Meanwhile, we return to the scene of another media circus, South Carolina, where Michael Phelps was photographed taking a bong hit. Sheriff Leon Lott is on a rampage to play tough guy showing just how tough his version of law enforcement can be in his jurisdiction arresting eight people, seven for simple marijuana possession, and one for apparent distribution, as he seems hell bent on leaving no stone unturned in his warped sense of pursuing justice. His grasp of reality is just as distorted as that of Nadja Suleman’s. Either this is a Podunk district where the law has nothing better to do than pursue such a farcical endeavor or vital resources are being diverted from much more pressing problems which might include such real human tragedies including child neglect and spousal abuse but such prosecutions don’t make headlines and require a lot of intelligent hard work. The way marijuana enforcement is conducted amounts to little more than small timey fascism as the force of the law far exceeds any possible damage to society the perceived crime could possibly cause. In South Carolina, simple possession is punishable by no more than 30 days in jail or a $500 fine. One more thing, eureka!!!, apparently the Barney Fife/Heinrich Müller hybrid and his deputies having the smoking gun, er uhm, bong in their possession. We’re not accusing all those who might be involved in this marijuana case as geniuses, as apparently the fellow who had the bong attempted to sell it on eBay for $100,000. How’s that for cheesy but utterly stupid opportunism?

It’s clear to anyone who understands this issue clearly who the real dopes are in Columbia, South Carolina and its not the kids who were doing what college students have done since Socrates gathered with his pupils in ancient Greece, PARTY! Sure, the fellow who tried to strike it rich by selling the bong on email is a dope, but that’s not for marijuana, it’s for the same unbelievable doctrine of self that corrupts society in so many ways.

Apparently South Carolina governor, Mark Sanford, one of the bright stars in a vapid Republican field in 2009 has no use for the actions of Sherriff Lott, telling Fox news intrepid expert on the joys of self, Geraldo Rivera, offering a mild rebuke, "I don't see what it gets at this point.."

Socialism is a system of heavy-handed state control where the individual cannot be trusted to make decisions for himself or accept the consequences of his actions. How fascinating it is how those in the American system most closely allied to the nanny state, and socialist reforms are revealed time and time again to be the most miserly when it comes to charitable contributions as tax data on Joseph Biden and Al Gore have so shamefully revealed. Further, from the political party that believes taxing wealth is the answer to society’s ills, and the basic tenant of socialism is state managed distribution of wealth, we’ve seen numerous nominees who have cheated on their taxes.

The basic ideals on which our Constitution and Bill of Rights were founded demands and rewards personal responsibility, but given the perverse decisions which have reinvented constitutional notions to fit their liberal dogma and public education has completely turned upside down and ignored the teaching of American history and the origins and meaning of the Constitution to the extent that students for at least the last 35-40 years since the leftist rewriting of curriculum has taken hold, how can anyone clearly understand what the structure of our society is all about?

From the foundation on which the role of government is defined in the establishment of the United States in the Declaration of Independence, “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” the concepts of the first and second amendment provide the structure of law to provide such. Article upon article in The Constitution establish the rights and implied responsibilities of the individual. Providing the means for reckless procreation of fourteen children leaving the state to pick up the tab and the heavy handed reach of the law for something as simple as marijuana is a horrible perversion of those core ideals. Does anyone think Thomas Jefferson gave a damn about whether someone puffed on a little bit of a naturally grown weed?

How things have changed. We have a president who is a serial liar and a casual sophist, a congress full of extreme vested self-interests, and a court system that routinely oversteps its bounds time and time again. When dishonesty and irresponsibility runs wild at the top both in Washington and on Wall Street, we see the effects of trickledown immorality as it filters down to Main Street and how individuals develop such a perverted warped sense of self as demonstrated by Nadja Suleman and Sheriff Leon Lott.

Are Nadja Suleman and Sheriff Lott the bad guys or only the duped pawns of bigger players far more powerful and perverted in the highest center of power could provide for lively debate, but when reads the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and the Bible even just a passing review of the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule, all of us should know better. More so, all of us should demand better. As the words of Jesus Christ so often offer guidance in so many human dilemmas, perhaps we should consider, “Let who among us is without sin cast the first stone.” To some extent to the extent that we keep our outrage private, we condone the indefensible, and don’t speak out with outrage when we see gross public displays of immoral, inhumane, and oppressive behavior, “everyman” USA, each one of us, is the real bad guy.

Let’s get with it before that which soldiers have died and many have fought paying extreme costs to defend erodes right before our eyes. What is happening in California with the Nadja Suleman children and Columbia, South Carolina with the fascist tactics of the local sheriff show so clearly because we don’t have a grip on the affairs of state, the state is running amuck whether it is our tax dollars paying for a stupid insane woman to deliver a litter of eight babies when she already has six fatherless children with no means of support or a pompous self-serving sheriff overstepping any sense of legal sensibility in the Phelps case. That we have elected a radical extremist ignoring every aspect of his detestable background as our supreme leader shows how out of touch we are.

The bad guy can be seen looking back at each one of us when we look in the mirror.

Harry Reid: A Retched Little Man Flaunts HIs Power in the Blago Mess




First, let’s be clear about something, Illinois Government Rod Blagojevich is a wretched turd. Seldom has any public official so brashly flaunted his contempt for the law, his professional standards, and any sense of moral or ethical behavior. He is a crass self-serving opportunist who has used the peoples’ trust for his own enhancement operating within the Illinois Democratic Party’s system where corruption and cronyism have both become institutionalized where special favors, play-for-pay schemes, and other criminal behavior has gone on for generations. All those old enough to remember the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago can’t help but see Mayor Richard Daley, the elder, as the face of such tyrannical abuse of power. “Blago” is just the latest cog in the dirty wheel, the incubator from which President-Elect Obama’s political career emerged. Can we truly believe Barack Obama is the rose among these thorns? That’s a discussion for another day as we will learn more once he assumes office, but his vacating the Senate provides the explosive incident that makes the Blagojevich scandal especially explosive.

As governor, it is Governor Blagojevich’s duty to appoint Obama’s successor to fill the balance of that Senatorial position until the next Congressional election. One of the charges against Blago is his attempt to sell the appointment where the appropriate candidate or his supporters would provide Blago some specific monetary or other favors in exchange for the appointment. Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. allegedly was approached for consideration should he be Blagojevich’s appointment. As such, criminal complaints have been issued by Federal Prosecutor Fitzgerald as his case advances toward Grand Jury consideration.

As retched as Blagojevich’s conduct is and as obvious as his criminal activity is, he has been convicted of nothing. The presumption of innocence before trial remains in effect and his status as governor remains active until he either resigns from office or is impeached. His authority to appoint Obama’s successor is especially disturbing since he attempted to “sell” his seat, but he is governor of Illinois and it is his responsibility to make the appointment. There might not be grounds for him to defer or delegate that appointmente as this is a task specifically assigned to the governor.

The Illinois legislature could have changed the law and most likely had the margin to override a Blagojevich veto. They could have opted for a special election as the state’s means for replacing Senators who vacate their sear during their term. The Illinois Democrats found this option unacceptable realizing all the rancor brought on by this scandal could easily taint the State’s Democratic party making the possibility of a Republican successor for Obama’s seat quite likely.

While we can debate forever the motives and merits of Rod Blogojevich appointing long time Illinois political figure, Roland Burris, the state’s former attorney general, to fill the Senate vacancy, legally what Blagojevich did was exercising the responsibilities of his position no matter how much that appointment could be tainted by previous attempts to shop the seat.

Not wanting to be touched by the Illinois scandal in any way and trying to further consolidate his iron-fisted rule of the Senate as Majority Leader, Harry Reid, with strong support from his fellow Senators and Barack Obama himself, has declared his intentions not to permit Burris to be seated as Illinois’s junior senator making the following comments on NBC’s Meet The Press, today, January 4: "We determine who sits in the Senate. And the House (of Representatives) determines who sits in the House. So there's clearly legal authority for us to do whatever we want to do. This goes back for generations."

Such language is terrifying. The people of the United States vote to determine who sits in the Senate and where vacancies occur, it is each state’s responsibility to determine how that vacancy is to be filled. While a Blogojevich appointment would be abhorrent to just about every rational citizen, Reid’s intentions should be every bit as threatening. The bottom line is the people of Illinois can vote Burris out of office in the next election. For Reid to posture he and the Senate determines who sits among them is a blatant attack on the democratic system. The Senate is empowered to remove colleagues for specific reasons that justify impeachment from office. They may censure members who do not behave properly in office. The appropriate leadership can deny committee appointments. While Roland Burris is an incredibly unimpressive political figure, there is no evidence he has done anything wrong other than accepting an appointment from a tainted governor.

Like it or not, by law, Roland Burris, should be seated as Barack Obama’s successor unless there are clear legal means to prevent his appointment, but that is a decision to be made in Illinois not Washington.

Once again, Harry Reid has shown himself to be one of the most hideous contemptuous figures ever to assume a leadership position in Washington. He is a spineless little man with no guiding principles and pitiful political talent drunk on the trappings of power.

Perhaps the voters of Nevada will right that wrong in their next Senatorial election. Mr. Reid should be scared, very scared. However, being the world class asshole he is, he is surely blind to his arrogance and vulnerabilities.

On What Legs Does Obama Stand?

Do you listen to Barack Obama or just let the media paint your picture of the man? This race has been going on long enough that we know for certain Obama’s accomplishments to qualify him in any measure to be President do not exist. They do not exist. There are none. Deal with it! We know his background consists of two primary influences: extreme radicals steeped in 60’s radicalism and “Liberation Theology,” and the Richard Daley led corrupt and abusive political machine. We should also see that Obama’s knowledge base to support his positions is likewise quite flimsy. Listen to Obama state his positions or answer questions in interviews. Obama does not rattle off carefully documented facts and figures. He does not reflect on historical precedence. He really doesn’t show much of anything that serves as the source of any of his notions. What Obama does consistently say are things like, “Well it’s always been my position.” “I’ve said many times before.” “I think………”

Got it? If Barack "The Great One" says it, it must be so. If Obama speaketh, his words are beyond reproach, analysis, or criticism. Whoa be unto he who dares challenge “the Great One” however. To disagree with Obama is to be clouded by bitterness brought on by those poor souls who cling to their guns and religion. They could also be people who have a problem with him because he doesn’t look like “those presidents on the dollar bills.” To support alternative notions to his notions is to be sympathetic to corporate greed, the big oil companies, and those horrible rich people which he defines as people making more than $250,000 a year.

It’s classic Marxist class struggle nonsense prettied up for today’s media market. The United States is a fluid culture where generation to generation people move from one class to another – generally up not down. There are no clear walls of distinction between working and middle class. In fact, many blue collar jobs pay better than professional jobs – not just teachers, nurses, and public safety professionals but also white collar jobs across many occupations. With a little entrepreneurial wisdom, working class citizens become millionaires starting a business or exploiting a new idea.

Obama’s “pledge” not to raise taxes on middle class citizens rings hollow. What would slapping taxes on “excess” corporate profits accomplish for instance? The revenue seized by the government from corporate America has to be made up for by those companies in some measure. Companies can raise prices, reduce its workforce, or move more operations overseas where they are not subject to U.S. taxes. In any case, who pays for it? The American public!

At the heart of Obama’s view of society is that wealth is largely ill-begotten that the wealthy have amassed their fortune at the expense not to the benefit of those folks the Democrats love to call “working people.” Government’s job is to promote some kind of ideological social justice providing the big cookie jar of goodies for all those who feel they are entitled to some benefit they cannot easily obtain on their own within the limits of their income. For instance, if a family can’t afford college, it’s the government to give them money to afford it. Naturally, it’s perfectly okay for people like Mrs. Obama to become a millionaire as a lawyer. After all, their wealth is just compensation for seeking justice representing some aggrieved party against some agent who has exploited, abused, or victimized by evil forces in society who either have the means to pay or should be forced to pay. That's the foundation of the litigious society the Obamas' represent.

The United States is a society based on personal responsibility and freedom not one where from each the government extracts from its citizens according to their perceived ability to pay and redistributes according to its rulers perception of citizens’ needs. The notion of freedom is the very foundation on which this country was founded in the Declaration of Independence and enumerated into a structure for government in the U.S. Constitution. We granted certain inalienable rights by our Creator and thus are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There are no stipulations that the citizens are entitled to any level of standard of living or that a person is not entitled to the wealth he or she is able to produce. Looking to the earliest events of the American Revolution, the first acts of rebellion, the famous “Boston Tea Party,” were largely due to excessive taxation – taxation without representation. The alternate view supported by the Obama movement is explicitly un-American as it is implicitly Marxist.

Let Obama whine all he likes about people questioning his love of America and his patriotism. It is not the voter’s obligation to give a damn what Barack Obama’s personal feelings are. His feelings are best represented by his actions. Preaching the mantra of “change” means one thing if it’s to weed out corruption and systems that don’t work to support the vision of the United States Constitution but if “change” is based on the perception that there is something fundamentally wrong with how American society is structured is something entirely different. One vision is American democracy. The other is, let’s be straight forward and perfectly honest with no euphemisms or spin, Communism. To chip away at the free enterprise system and let the government decide who gets what isn’t the United States of America as we’ve known and loved it; it’s an Obama-Nation.

Once more, let's set the record straight, Barack Obama is a delusional opportunist, grotesquely self-infatuated, incapable of accepting criticism, steeped in Marxist ideology, a true sophist, whose rhetorical skills are dedicated to divisive demagoguery in its most hideous form. His very presence as a Presidential candidate cheapens the American presidency to where the election has been reduced to a pop culture extravaganza. Just as disgraceful, what should be a cause for tremendous historic achievement, his nomination as the first non-white candidate, that a bi-racial American considered a Black man by the population has been absolutely cheapened to be hardly more than a vanity issue for a truly repugnant human being who has no lineage to the African-American population, the descendants of slavery who've fought for generations to gain parity with their white counterparts only to have their spot in history seized by the son of a Kenyan immigrant and white Kansas mother giving him no place in the historical struggle of a once outwardly racist society. There is nothing heroic about Obama's pursuit. His story is one of a maniacal egotist hooked on the powerful narcotic of self, yet another extreme example of the "Me" generation at its ugliest. Pay not one ounce of attention to any Obama claims to religion or his faith. His negative influences such as Jeremiah Wright, the hate spewing anti-White misogynistic and Michael Flagger are well-known. If there are positive influences, members of the church, or spirirual influences, who are they? Marxism and radical activists accept their ends justify their means. If cloaking one's message in the Word of God, so be it. Talk the Christian talk, but walk the socialist walk. A survey of Obama's political positions shows him consistently aligned with the most blantant form of secular humanism.

Gustav Takes Aim On New Orleans: Could Katrina Have Been Just The Dress Rehearsal?

HERE COMES GUSTAV

"Brownie, you've done a heck of a job!" With those words to FEMA honcho Michael Brown, the Bush administration began its downward spiral from which he's never required. The Federal response looked big, clumsy, and ineffective while pictures of constant suffering were streaming across televisions and computers nationwide. Further, why was the President playing golf in California when he should have been in the "war room" on Pennsylvania Avenue. Truth be told, the decisions that made the avoidable aspects of this tragedy rest much more on the shoulders of the pseudo-hip mayor, Nagin, who did not order evacuations as demonstrated by a parking lot of dozens of flooded school buses. Everything needed to initiate Federal assistance had to cross the desk of Governor Blanco who insisted on signing off on every minute detail causing long delays. The storm hit Monday. Not until the military got involved on Thursday was real progress taking shape.

Here comes Gustav. The key executives, Bush and Nagin are still in office. Blanco is gone replaced by Bobby Jindal. New bureaucrats are in place on the Federal level supposedly with real hands on experience.

It could work out that Katrina was but a dress rehearsal for what's zeroing in on Louisiana right now. It looks like the storm will either hit New Orleans or go a little to the west. If it goes just a little west that puts the most deadly part of the hurricane right over New Orleans.

The 9th Ward still stands largely empty from Katrina's wrath. Not much to evacuate there. The rest of the populated city is emptied out, gone, not about to repeat tragedy. Reports vary on how effectively the levees protecting the city have been restored. While the downtown business and entertainment districts are back to business as usual, New Orleans is still a devastated city on the mends. Some areas appear to be written off never to be restored.

Three years later, what lessons were learned from Katrina remains an open book. President Bush is where he needs to be -- at the White House. Ray Nagin is singing a very different tune -- all business, this time around. New players seem better prepared. Bobby Jindal has done everything possible to get out in front of the impending disaster in much the same way Jeb Bush handled approaching storms in Florida, taking charge and directing citizens exactly what they need to do. R. David Paulison certainly has the background to handle the job at FEMA far more impressive than Michael Brown's claim to fame before joining the Bush administration was acting as Judges and Stewards Commissioner for the International Arabian Horses Association. Brown was forced to resign after numerous challenges to his disciplinary decisions. From there, he entered the Bush administration as General Council to FEMA. How a person like this could ever have been appointed to the administration in the first place is a mystery. His bungling and stiffly bureaucratic handling of the Katrina aid efforts became the face of a system that wasn't working.

It appears better manpower is in place and those who remain know there will be zero tolerance for mistakes on their part. What can't be calculated is how vicious this storm will be. By Tuesday afternoon we'll know.

Held in the balance is the Republican Convention, after all the hoopla and specticle of the Demcratic Convention in Denver, perhaps a low key, all business affair respectfully scaled back for the sake of Gustav could be exactly what the Republicans need to put the right face on their run for the White House. Rest assured, every human tragedy will be laid right on the feet of the Republican Party with the classic Democrat, "They're killing babies! They're starving seniors!" rhetoric reverberating through out the media. No matter how well Bobby Jindal handles the situation as Governor of Louisiana, the Democrats won't miss an opportunity to attempt to tarnish his golden boy image. Naturally, any opportunity to lay the smack down on President Bush will allow their usual feeding frenzy and then by extention to John McCain...four mour years of Bush!! Watch what they do not what they say.
