NBC, One Network Under Attack

In covering the US Open from Congressional Country Club outside Bethesda, Maryland, attempting to show an element of patriotism given the setting outside the nation’s capital, NBC produced a video segment presenting the Pledge of Allegiance. There were sweet little kids reciting with images of the military and flags. They recited:


I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
And to the Republic for which it stands,
One nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

The radical God haters had their way in production, WHERE IS “UNDER GOD?”

Here’s NBC’s official apology:

“We began our coverage of this final round just about three hours ago and when we did it was our intent to begin the coverage of this U.S. Open Championship with a feature that captured the patriotism of our national championship being held in our nation’s capital for the third time. Regrettably, a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance that was in that feature was edited out. It was not done to upset anyone and we’d like to apologize to those of you who were offended by it.”

You always know pure BS when you see an apology that states “to those of you who were offended.” Those bastards offended our country for starters, the nation based on founding principles that read as follows:

“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.


We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

The leftist will perhaps point out that’s just the Declaration of Independence not the Constitution so it has no force of law. Really? It’s the very justification why this nation exists in the first place and the recognition that rights are bestowed by God and not man be it despot, king, or government is the very heart of our nation’s being.

As such, when it’s time to honor in ceremony our Republic, it’s only natural that we recognize that we are “one nation under God.” The freedom established that “congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion or the free expression thereof.” It is understood this is the basic understanding of a man’s relationship to his nation.

For those who attempt to articulate the Constitution as an exclusively secular document, perhaps they’ve overlooked the preamble, those words that frame the context the whole meaning of the Constitution defining its context infers exactly what’s in the Declaration:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Where do blessings come from?

The ideologues with their extreme secular outlook at NBC simply fail to grasp the significance of that which they find so easy to overlook. This so called mistake or oversight will not be taken lightly.

Obama Kool-Aid, Paul Krugman, Because I Say So

Elitism sucks. Once upon a time, the law was whatever the king said it was. Of course there are sleazy dictators and unscrupulous potentates who still uphold such notions and the consequence of speaking the truth can be lethal. Of course there are those who are just the messenger -- don't blame them, they speak for a higher power, but if you don't do as they say because they speak for Allah or some bizarre evil distortion of God, you'll wind up dead too.  Elitism rules the mainstream media too as its number one source, The New York Times claims to cover "all the news that's fit to print." Of course who decides what's fit to print. The message is, this is what's to print BECAUSE WE SAY SO.

Like a corrupt kingdom or religion, the New York Times has its own psycho-disciples, who spread the creed not just presenting what they say is fit for our consumption, but who is right and who is wrong and exactly how the huddled masses are supposed to feel about their edicts. It takes little time before their most mighty mouthpieces and arbitrators of all that's fit, Maurine Dodd the erudite naysayer and ultra bitch of Paul Krugman, the fellow who's so big a mere chip on his shoulder isn't good enough, he requires a fine California sequoia for that purpose.

We, of course, are just a bunch of average Joe's, like the fictional Los Angeles detective, Joe Friday from Dragnet, his credo was, "The fact's, ma'am, just the facts." Is that too much to ask.

What American couldn't be outraged, angry, and scared by the horrible massacre where innocent citizens gathered and were murdered, congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords was shot, outside a Safeway in Tucson, Arizona?

The story was just beginning to unfold through out the news media, but within minutes of the report, there was Paul Krugman, the ominsicient seer, "it is because I say so," no time to gather facts, blaming the incident on rightwingers inflammatory speech being the cause suggesting that some whacked out, right wing extremist pulled the trigger. The edict hath been declared from high atop the great Ivory Tower of Wisdom, well maybe the gaudy bankrupt New York Times headquarters. okay truth be told, some grumpy old dork sitting at a computer keyboard. Quickly, the lower barkers started to yip from MSNBC to NPR. Quickly the facts piled up and their template simply didn't fit, but did they correct their error, hardly, they just barked louder and louder.

Meanwhile, their compatriots accused the other side of being Nazis, baby killers, racists, and just about any other label they could dream up. When it comes to inflammatory rhetoric and hate speech, what would they have to say about the union thugs and the spineless Wisconsin Democrats who fled the state, abandoning their jobs and resposibilities, screaming in heated hostile rants full of personal attacks and threats? If hate speech and inflammatory rhetoric is so awful doesn't the Wisconsin situation count?  Nope, it doesn't fit, but if the Republicans tasked with trying to save the state from financial offered the slightest criticism of their adversaries -- look out!!

The bubbling hot domestic issue right now is economy. Would not one want to know how an Ivy League educated professor at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University hired to write substantial, highly informed column for the New York Times assesses such economic matters as the Federal Government's massive debt, should not us lowly subjects hang on his ever word?

He thinks so.

Normal folks and some lesser economists see higher gas prices, a huge debt with a government unwilling to reel it in, uncertainty on how the Arab world's chaos could affect fuel costs, how might the Japanese mess destabilize the world's markets, what will the impact of "Obama-care" and escalating health costs do, and how much more regulation and government restrictions further choke financial growth. This issues seem real and very threating. Some are very quantifiable. The world's economic state of 2011 does not provide a good climate for investment, hiring, and expansion.

Paul Krugman doesn't think so.

Things aren't bad. It's those horrible people who want to blame everything on Obama. Based on earlier columns he's written along with the wicked witch or is it blabbering bitch of the Ivort Tower, Maurine Dowd, they know what those people are all about -- THEY'RE HATERS, THEY'RE BIGOTS. They're trying to scare everybody and have tried to make that noble and nice Barack Obama the scapegoat. His opinion is Obama skeptics are flawed human beings whose judgment is so clouded with prejudice, one need not even be able to repeat what their point was, Krugman can simply dismiss it as out of hand. They're not Nobel Prize winners. they're just low life yokels they don't even have the stature to respond, because in the Land of the Ivory Tower, they'd have their tongues cut our to spare the impressionable masses the temptation of exploring notions that counter their edicts. The Empiror Obama is just and wise. The Empiror would never mislead the public and the Empiror would never bee seen in public without his luxurious clothes on. The public cannot believe what their lying eyes tell them. The Empiror is a man of exceptional style in splendorous fine adorments from head-to-toe. Yes, as messenger for the thrown, we should all heed,

"All This Stuff About Uncertainty is a Myth Made Up to Blame Unemployment on Obama."

Well there you have it. Somehow the little girl who shouted out the Empiror Obama isn't even wearing gym shorts and a Harvard tea shirt is making a lot more sense than Rube Krugman. If a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it fall, does it make a sound?  If the New York Times publishes a Paul Krugman column and no one heeds his tale, is it still real news?

While the empiror can't find his tea shirt for his grad school alma matter, maybe Mr. Krugman can at least lend him a Princeton tea shirt.  If Ivy League tea shirts are like the prevailing ideologies articulated by their elites, one size fits all.

Media Critic, Brent Bozell, Sizes Up Mainstream Coverage of Wisconsin Insurrection

Let's see, if you're liberal to begin with but act in denial trying to convince your audience you're mainstream, if you're a member of a union that is overwhelming Democrat, how effective and objective would you be covering a showdown between a newly elected Republican governor and his conservative legislative colleagues dealing with a showdown with their Democrat counterparts and tens of thousands of union goons?

The way the battle lines have been drawn the viewer would see some rather obvious parallels between how the media covered the Egypt rebellion and the Wisconsin labor riot. Of course, Governor Scott Walker cast as the evil dictator Mubarak and the teachers, Obama union thugs, and other clowns as the Egyptian rebels.

It is also interesting to note how obscene, mean-spirited and filthy many of the chants, taunts, signs and banners are and what did these same reporters have to say about the conduct of the tea party rallies? These are the same people who scolded the tea party and conservatives for their angry rhetoric and insisted it led to the Tucson massacre. Truth be told, if one were to compare the vulgarity, viciousness, and over-the-top insults the tea party would be like a small town Boy Scout troupe compared to the Wisconsin thugs who'd be more like the vandals sacking Rome. The lack of proportion and honesty in this regard is inescapable for anyone who has paid careful attention to the coverage.

Brent Bozell, head of the Media Research Council brilliantly sizes up the press coverage in Wisconsin. Should anyone be surprised that the legendary pseudo-intellectual masquerading behind her snobbish foreign accent, Christiane Amanpour, should be responsible for some of the most ridiculous reportage.

George Soros Attack on Fox News has Merit

Make no mistake about it, George Soros is a bastard. A multibillionaire, Soros invests his wealth in pursuit of his extremist left wing agenda clearly aimed at thwarting the free enterprise system, American political, military, and economic dominance, propping up numerous left-wing causes including the Tides Foundation, Center for American Progress, MoveOn.org, NPR, and Open Society Institute. To his credit, he helped thwart eastern European Soviet hegemony supporting Hungarian liberation, but his dastardly deeds include investing fortunes unsuccessfully to defeat George W. Bush in 2004, supporting drug legalization, and manipulation causing the devaluation of the British Pound. While from an American political standpoint, Soros is a dangerous villain, but that he contributes to promote “open societies” in some of the world’s most oppressive countries, his work is worthy of praise.

That George Soros would have it out for Fox News, the news outlet which has consistently reported his exploits should come as no surprise. Media Matters, a site Soros finances is largely dedicated to discrediting the news network often taking material out of context to affect vicious smears. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that in a CNN interview, Soros would claim Fox News (is) like Nazis in the way it deceives people.

On the surface that would seem like a sweeping generalization full of sour grapes since his exploits are reported in exasperating detail on the Fox network, but Soros then zeroes his criticism in on the Glenn Beck program. In typical apocalyptic overstatement, Soros is routinely used as convenient scapegoat, the mastermind behind conspiracies world wide and operating a shadow government for which Soros functions as the puppet master. While Beck does reveal some truthful activities of Soros and his operatives, the extent to which he uses bits and pieces to stir up fear and paranoia, Beck went so far as to assert that Soros was deeply involved with the Nazis leading up to World War II including “helping to round up Jews.” Given that Soros was born on August 12, 1930, he would not have even been 15 years old on V-E day, so just how much of a Nazi could have Soros been? Yes, at 13 years of age, he worked for the Jewish Council in Hungary that helped facilitate rounding up Jews, but how much can this biographic detail be used to legitimately vilify Soros?

To compare Beck’s techniques to Hitler’s is not really a stretch. He plays on peoples’ fears and sense that boogie men like Soros and Van Jones, not front line figures, but shadowy figures from behind the scenes doing much of the harm. His presentation ranging from frantic uncontrollable tantrums, to vicious mean spirited sarcasm, to blatant demagogic appeals appealing to his audiences’ vanities, fears, and prejudices creating fears of such things as impending food shortages are all techniques right out of Hitler’s techniques. Calling his faithful into action to do such things as hording food, buying gold (his sponsor) while creating a sense of desperation are also long standing techniques of notorious demagogues -- first fill them full of distorted information. Second, appeal to their fears and insecurities. Third, implore them to pursue a specific course of action, all lay the ground for mobilizing the faithful to act like mindless zombies. Of course, to various degrees, Soros agencies like MoveOn.org with their many letter writing, petition, and boycott drives do the same.

This creates a difficult conundrum for Fox News. Commentary based programs hosted by Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Neil Cavuto are also harshly critical of Soros, but their opinions are much more reflective of true editorial commentary that while certainly biased reflecting each commentator’s values with O’Reilly and Cavuto being more analytical and Hannity being more the partisan in opposition. Any of these hosts might engage in debate with Soros supporters allowing for a responsible exchange of ideas.

During hard news programs, George Soros is nowhere to be found since his conduct seldom is part of the day’s headlines since his activities tend to generate news not actually be news.

The bottom line is Fox cannot absolve itself from Glenn Beck by claiming he’s just a commentator. That they provide him a forum where he does not subject himself to debate or no counter points are made to his insane assertions, Beck’s boogie man paranoia demagoguery reaches the public unfiltered, unchallenged, and somewhat legitimized as being the product of a news entity as huge as Fox and its parent company, Rupert Murdoch’s Newscorp.

The implications are clear. If Fox is to be a major force in world journalism, they must maintain extremely high standards of performance and ethics. While they are certainly welcome to pursue a conservative point-of-view in contrast to the highly liberal slant of many news organizations like the New York Times, to engage a paranoid, emotionally challenged, raving demagogue like Glenn Beck gives adversaries like George Soros firm footing to stand on in discrediting the network. Certainly, open-minded viewers who try to make sense of Glenn Beck’s insanity are easily prepared to agree with Soros if they can be put in a position of equating Fox News with Glenn Beck.

Fox News has brought this mess upon themselves. The longer Glenn Beck remains with their network, thankfully he has been disposed of from New York and Philadelphia radio, the more FNC will be increasingly associated with Beck’s lunacy which seems to be getting more radical and over-the-top as Beck feels more entrenched and unchecked at the network.

We call upon Fox News and ask for others to support us in our plead to the network, to promptly dismiss Glenn Beck and end the reign of insanity his show represents. For whatever short term ratings gains the ranting madman affords them, responsible advertisers are heading for the hills. The entire organization suffers from how the cancer of one bad apple infects the entire enterprise. To see that gold vendors and telemarketing promotion for the complete colorized and black and white works of Shirley Temple shows the Bizarro world is an unhealthy place to be. Responsible news reporting is no "Good Ship Lollypop."

MSNBC -- Left Wing Advocacy Journalism in Wisconsin

Who'd be surprised that MSNBC's coverage would be biased in favor of the criminal behavior on display in Wisconsin? 

It probably wouldn't be surprising that MSNBC is also patting itself on the back for the great job they're doing reporting the story as Lawrence O'Donnell giving his colleague Ed Schultz "attaboy's" for "taking this story national."

Schultz goes on to call the governor's actions as an "attack on the middle class" of Wisconsin and pledging to show the "radical" influences including "tea-partiers" with one blast after another against Governor Scott Walker. You will not see more dishonest, politically biased, pure rabble rousing disguised as reporting in this clip from Ed Schultz on the Rachel Maddow show.

Naturally, in supporting the radical insurrection afoot in the Cheese State, they're also reporting absolute lies fed to them by the union such as there is no budget crisis in Wisconsin and that they are fighting pay cuts of 20%.

It would be no surprise for Fox News, perhaps on "Fox News Watch" or News Busters to report MSNBC's failings, but this information comes from David Zurawik of the Baltimore Sun who blasts MSNBC's disasterous coverage of this dreadful event.

David Gregory's Attack on John Boehner --Case Study in Left Wing Media Destruction

 David Gregory – the Left Wing Press and its Agenda


The radical left starts 2011 behaving very badly. After their horrible attempts to blame the Arizona massacre on conservative press and talk show programs for which they were thoroughly rebuked (At least until Sarah Palin shot off her mouth with her “blood libel” comments starting the whole debate up anew), the new year looked like the usual gang of idiots – MSNBC, Jack Krugman, Bill Maher, Maureen Dowd, and Joy(less) Behar were in rare form with their usual demonization, false accusations, contempt for facts and logic, and pure demagoguery.

Of course it would be one thing if this frantic angry chatter was limited to the lunatic fringe but given The New York Times itself is deeply entrenched in presenting the world’s news through radical blood red rose colored glasses and such ideology controls the NBC broadcast network, the extremist ideology which shows pure contempt for free markets, limited government, gun ownership, and traditional particularly religious values has a death grip on conventional news sources in print and over the air.

Meet the Press, from its inception in 1947 at the dawn of the television age through Tim Russert’s untimely death, presented well-respected news figures skillfully interviewed followed by thoughtful and probing commentary and analysis. In his later days at the peacock network, the even-keeled thoughtful moderator served as an oasis of sanity at a network that was rushing like lemmings to full-blown left wing advocacy “journalism.”

All that’s changed with the appointment of David Gregory, former White House correspondent and Today Show host who made a reputation of hectoring the President’s spokesmen with supposition-laden questions rudely hectoring and nagging them in an accusatory tone which almost seemed to say, “This is the answer I want to nail you to death with. I will not stand down until you repeat it verbatim.” To say he perfected the “do you still beat your wife” technique would be such a blatant understatement. Much to the peril of the George W. Bush administration, Gregory made mopping the floor with the timid Scott McClelland look like child’s play.

It was fascinating to read Tim Russert account for how thoroughly he prepared for his interviews and what he sought to accomplish. Truly, for such a professional, it was the relentless pursuit of the truth. No subject had better have any tapes of what he had said in the past that might contradict a recent statement as the good old vet would make many a mighty figure squirm asked to explain the variance. Gregory’s style is shooting straight from the hip and the purpose is to make those who dare have convictions contrary to the orthodoxy of the media’s ideology look as evil as Richard Nixon in combat boots and a pink negligee. After the Republicans’ huge victory in the house last November and the press establishment reeling after making asses of themselves with the Arizona tragedy, to say David Gregory was loaded for bear having the opportunity to interview newly installed speaker of the house, John Boehner.

The interview boiled down to two questions: did Boehner believe Barack Obama was born in the United States and did he believe Barack Obama was Christian. Polls still reveal that a substantial number of Republicans and Conservatives including some congressmen continue to maintain “the birther” conspiracy, a notion that Barack Obama was not born in American and that no one has had access to see an official birth certificate. Likewise, many believe that Obama is Muslim though there has never been ANY verifiable information showing Obama actively engaged in the practice of the religion. Folks can say what they like about Jeremiah Wright’s church in Chicago. It IS NOT Muslim. There can be little question about what fuels these contentions, fire breathing unprofessional sensationalistic talk show hosts who prey on their audiences’ fears and ignorance. All kinds of misinformation are plentiful on the Internet—fools believe what they will believe. For the record, left wing gabber, Bill Maher insists that Obama is not Christian -- he argues Obama is an obvious “secular humanist.”

To make the issue absolutely clear, John Boehner was never suggested in even the most subtle sort of way nor said anything in the slightest degree that could be taken as an endorsement of these totally unproductive rumors. So why would these two issues be of such importance to David Gregory wanting to pursue them with such persistent intensity?

With issues concerning foreign policy, particularly Egypt, budget issues including variances between “establishment” and “Tea Party” Republicans, the job Markey, and plenty of pressing issues, that such a topic would come up makes one question Gregory’s judgment from the onset, but fair enough. That he would pursue it as rudely and aggressively as he did should certainly make it clear what a hack has inherited one of the most prestigious seats in broadcast journalism.

Citing that what fueled his speculation was a Fox News Broadcast where on Hannity, a focus group of potential Republican voters conducted by Professor Frank Lunz showed a substantial number, perhaps 40% or more of the panel, believed Obama a Muslim and that Boehner has not stepped forward to speak out on the matter, Gregory first asked Boehner his understanding of where Obama was born, Boehner made it clear Obama was born in Hawaii. On the matter of Obama’s religion, Boehner asserted that Obama had clearly stated he was Christian and that he takes Obama at his word.

Fine, should that not be end of this line of questioning? Certainly it was not for Gregory who persisted irritated that Boehner had not personally scolded those who continue to maintain the “birther” and the Muslim issues. Boehner refused to be drawn in and affirmed that the he believed he stated the facts clearly making it clear that they speak for themselves. He has more important things to do than essentially play mommy and daddy with those who don’t toe the line.

It became clear quickly that Gregory was baiting Boehner and nothing short of saying he hadn’t done enough to debunk the fringe misperceptions and that he would aggressively pursue those who don’t measure up to Gregory’s dogmatic level of compliance would be acceptable – either that – or Gregory was baiting Boehner to lose his tempter. On neither score would Boehner yield patiently but obviously irritated trying to move the agenda to another topic.

What came through so clearly was David Gregory’s overinflated sense of self importance and disrespect for one of the highest officials in Washington. After all, the Speaker of the House is third in line in succession to the Presidency. Tangentially, Gregory also ignored the esteem of his own program as a venerated platform from which the nation’s most powerful figures can address their colleagues and constituents. If there were any people within the sound of Boehner’s voice who weren’t clear what he felt on the birth and religion issue, they would know from that program forward. How can that not be enough in light of the Speaker’s responsibilities?

For the chattering class who subscribe to the kind of nonsense Gregory presented Sunday, perhaps they feel content, “Boy, he sure told him a thing or two.” For the rest of us, Gregory looked like a smart ass, a punk who didn’t have the common courtesy to listen to his guest to moderate the discussion and move forward.

The importance of this issue is that it reveals the real loser is the interested public being denied what was once a trusted resource in analyzing the issues of the day. The viewer got little insight into the true person Boehner is, how he understands the issues, and far more breadth covering what a very powerful person in the legislative process intends to do in molding the direction of our country. The harm reverberates because instead of having a provoking discussion on how Boehner and House Republicans are appraising the nation’s budget situation as just one possibility that as responsible citizens we should be probing, the discussion instead winds up sounding something like the content of this blog.

When the public wonders how the media has deteriorated so extensively in the last couple decades and what’s behind it, a careful examination of what happened on Meet the Press Sunday couldn’t make it clearer. Such destruction isn’t generally as clearly in the open or broadcast on the kind of scale Meet the Press is; however, every day on news casts around the nation and printed in the dozens of remaining newspapers, today’s left-wing journalists are chipping away at the authority of those who don’t endorse their agenda, work to redefine the agenda what’s important in America, and through ever technique imaginable including gross dishonesty and distortion, attempt to make all news coverage fit preexisting templates which tell the story they want those tales to tell that questions our essential social, moral, and economic values while promoting their values of political correctness, redistribution of wealth, multi-culturalism, and secular humanism.

We are all responsible for watching all news media with critical eyes ready to identify and correct misrepresentation of the truth whether conducted by left wing hacks like Gregory or some content on Fox News which can get distorted supporting unsubstantiated right-wing talking points. News coverage is riddled with analysis, subjectivity, and bias no matter how much a news agency attempts to show objectivity. The Tragedy of Phylicia Barnes: Cupcakes and Colored Girls

The Sad Tragedy of Phylicia Barnes versus Natalee Holloway


Phylicia Barnes disappeared without a trace on December 28, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland last seen around 3:00 am presumably to buy some food. She had everything going for her, a straight A student, a young lady with a bright future from Union Academy in Monroe, NC, an outer Charlotte suburb. To all who knew her, she had it all, a winner among winners. She vanished when visiting her sisters in Baltimore. News coverage on both the Baltimore and national level are scant, but in the initial article in the Baltimore Sun, there is a curious passage that perhaps tips off a disturbing attitude implicit handling this case, “Barnes is an A student who does not have a history of running away or of criminal behavior, according to Anthony Guglielmi, a Baltimore police spokesman.” Why does it even merit mentioning that this young lady has no criminal history unless one would be inclined to predispose she does, and on what basis would the question arise when examining an A student?

While Baltimore is no Aruba, the tropical “paradise” where conspicuous hedonism is the national identity, these two cases appear so similar. Natalee Holloway came from Mountain Brook, Alabama, a high income community just outside Birmingham. She had just graduated from Mountain Brook, High School, an honor’s student who was an enthusiast participant in school activities including the drill team in the school marching band. She was destined to head to undergrad school at University of Alabama with a full scholarship where she intended to prepare for medical school. This young lady was on the fast track to be a fine doctor.

So why is it that Phylicia Barnes receives relatively little attention in the news media even cable news and the localities involved where viewers could not escape the Natalee Holloway tragedy from her disappearance on May 31, 2005 until Hurricane Katrina took all the attention though Holloway coverage would return getting far more attention on a regular basis than Miss Barnes? Is it because the chances of murder seemed so obvious in the Holloway chase? After all quickly villains emerged, a young man who’d quickly become a world renowned punk, Joran van der Sloot with his shady looking sidekicks, brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe . Is it because such an occurrence is so unthinkable in tiny Aruba the island where fantasies of pleasure come true? People getting killed and disappearing in Baltimore aren’t that rare. Last year 222 people were murdered. More disappeared. However, most of those were involved in urban street violence. For a very impressive young lady like Phylicia Barnes such a fate is quite rare. Natalee Holloway’s saga would occupy the lead slot on at least one Fox News program every night interviewing detectives, lawyers, forensic experts, friends, family, and classmates of Ms. Holloway, Aruban officials, and people from Natalee’s home town. Her plight would find Greta Van Susteren travelling the globe searching for answers and Geraldo Rivera would make her a cause de célèbre for tabloid journalism. Phylicia Barnes received almost no primetime coverage relegated to the day time and weekend morning shows with relatively few viewers. More than two weeks after her disappearance, Fox News interviewed her father on “Fox and Friends Weekend.” While some might accuse the networks of going overboard on Natalee Holloway, what could be employed as a greater power that could call attention to her disappearance than the national and even world media? While her story does not live up to the urgency of national issues including conflict in Iraq and Iran (gee, don’t you think those military families of deceased service men would like at least a nod of appreciation telling their loved one’s tale), perhaps bumping up the priority of her case would be justified if it helped to bring the tragedy to conclusion? Still, the irony remains – two promising young ladies who were brilliant and popular students – one received saturation coverage, the other almost escapes notice?

Did we tell you Phylicia Barnes is African American? Natalee Holloway was pin-up girl gorgeous, blonde, blue-eyed, makeup verging on the trashy side – in other words, white and sexy.

There in lines the difference between the two cases. Young white woman and girls are our culture’s dream of human perfection as long as they’re pretty. Somehow they seem to be the embodiment of every American dream. Think of the iconic all-American images we bestow on the girl next door (of course we know what kind of neighborhood that would be as right out of Norman Rockwell Americana). We ascribe and associate titles of royalty which just aren’t associated with black girls – homecoming queen, prom queen, and all kinds of princesses, or Miss State Fair, Miss Alabama, or Miss America regardless of the small handful of minorities who have been so honored. If it’s any consolation to African Americans, white men, not particularly attractive fully grown white women, Asians, Latinos, and white boys the same age as Natalee or Phylicia don’t get much press either. Only babies and grandparents get more attention than the vast spectrum of our sea of humanity, but nubile white females get the highest degree of attention when they are victims. Conversely, black males of that age don’t even get mentioned unless they’re valedictorians or stars on their school’s sports teams which would at least earn them mention in the news – but after a day or two, they’re gone too.

Clearly, not all men and especially women even more so women are created equal where the ratings driven mainstream media is concerned. The public gets very worked up when seemingly innocent white girls’ fate meets evil. Fear and horror grip the population. Demands for resolution become deafening, the young lady’s biography becomes a tale of human virtue. Families blessed with a lovely girl of that age reassure themselves nothing happened to their little cupcake but oh how gripping is the fear that she might meet a horrible end even though the chances of being a victim of violence remains incredibly low.

Racism is not always in your face hatred. When it’s as obvious as to where white folk call black folk “niggers,” it’s easy to recognize and fight. There is a tendency for some to say, “racism, what racism, we elected Obama after all!” None of this recognizes that more insidious and less obvious forms of racism. How do we account for not developing the resolve and simply allow things like the total failure of urban school systems to function in productive and supportive ways to effectively educate the next generation of those kids who have every right to escape the grips of the squalor. How can we tolerate and not intervene with full-force to end the kind of street corner genocide where in many communities such as Baltimore where on any given night the odds are better than not that at least one young black man will be killed in the streets. We deprive the personal tragedy and that each of these deaths is some mother’s son by associating the killings as gang warfare or drug violence. Such labels strip the victims of their humanity making them disposable human beings. That we mention failing schools and urban violence side-by-side helps us understand in many ways, one leads to the next. Where kids challenged, encouraged to see goals and ideals for themselves, taught effectively so they could achieve it would be unthinkable to think such kids would waste away and ooze out on to the mean streets of the big cities. Nevertheless, the master culture feels that it attempts to address these issues through a myriad of social programs continuing to believe that these problems could be solved if only more money were spent as if not taxing those selfish rich people to death is the answer. Plenty of money is being appropriated. The money is being spent, but HOW is it being spent and WHERE does the money go? Look at the largesse of urban school bureaucracies often incredibly bigger than suburban schools but look how those additional offices provide nothing that help kids on the classroom level. Nevertheless, millions and millions are spent on studies and blue ribbon panels that invariably reach the same conclusion – spend more money, create more programs, but where does it become someone’s responsibility to get results?

Fast forward back to the Phylicia Barnes case, both North Carolina and Maryland are states with large populations of black middle class citizens and a significant number of people who reach high positions in corporate and government settings. They almost seem to be stealth accomplishments because so little is made of their success and held up as goals for achievement when it seems like the only place blacks truly excel in our society is entertainment, especially sports. Ghetto kids start to believe their ticket out of the ghetto rests in the NFL and NBA. The odds that any particular kid will realize such glory is probably far less likely than being gun downed in the street or struck by lightening.

A wonderful young lady has vanished without a clue. Would anyone recognize the face of Phylicia Barnes? Would we have recognized the face of Natalee Holloway? Five years later her graduation picture and several others we identify almost instantaneously with Alabama’s up and coming angel who disappeared in the tropical paradise of Aruba. About the only consolation one can find is that Aruban law enforcement is more inept, corrupt, and ineffective than even the worst police departments in big city America.

We pretty much know what happened to Natalee Holloway; Joran van der Sloot killed her. Any doubt he didn’t was erased when he killed another young lady in Peru That he might spend the rest of his life in one of the world’s nastiest prisons is just rewards for his treachery even if it weren’t specifically for Natalee, but the Holloway family deserves better closure than that.

We have no idea about Phylicia Barnes or even to what extent she is a priority in Baltimore. Just add one more to the body count of black people in a city where there’s not a huge difference between 222 and 223 murders for 2010 as if to say what’s the value of one particular human being compared to the rest, just one more report to file. This kind of dehumanization helps show why society is so tolerant of such high murder rates to begin with. Some human beings aren’t as human as others.

Phylicia Barnes disappearance should challenge all of us to challenge these assumptions and demand justice. The similarities of these two cases parallel in so many ways, but when a lovely white girl vanishes, it is such a real life case of the damsel-in-distress motif it somehow appeals to every sense of chivalry. Chivalry is an ancient concept borne in European and British aristocracy. As much as American society eschews notions of royalty and privilege based on class, those ancient rituals lurk just beneath our subconscious, and we see the dreadful contradictions they breed.

Despite the many resources employed, millions spent, and saturation media coverage, Natalee Holloway remains missing though Joran van der Sloot surely looks like a guilty murderer. There is still hope, albeit getting slimmer by the day, Phylicia Barnes, might turn up okay.

Keep Phylicia Barnes in your prayers. A tragedy like hers demands to be told.

How NOT to React to What Happened in Arizona

While we still work on making our definitive statement on the Tuscon Massacre killing a Federal Judge, a nine year old girl, and some citizens participating in representative government and seriously injuring a dedicated congresswoman, how quick some are to assess blame.

How quickly the blog world had the worst of the left spewing their hatred and intolerence blaming this horrible event on the Tea Party and Sarah Palin. While we are harsh critics of Palin, this is not her doing; however, we put her on notice, as someone who is prone to meanspirited knee jerk reactions, she'd damned well better chose her worlds carefully.

Paul Krugman is a creep, a New York Times elitist whose viewpoints reflect the worst of what the American left believes. Is it any wonder he couldn't wait to get his warped view of the tragedy posted at 3:22 pm yesterday.

Sarah Palin – Foxy Lady

When has a major national political figure had the instant access to the media Sarah Palin enjoys with Fox News Network? Hired as a consultant by the Fox News Network after her resignation as Governor of Alaska, she has not assumed any formal role in the network’s programming but while jetting all around the country pursuing her political agenda, she has unprecedented access to the media on the highest rated news network where she is assured friendly treatment and continuous exposure.

On any given weekday night where there is a hot political topic leading the news, it is not unusual to see Palin on any of Fox’s commentary programs though most often (Sean) Hannity or On the Record with Greta Van Susterain. Frequently getting the lead slot and possibly two segments, she is able to provide her spin on a wide range of issues getting nothing more than softball questions and sometimes even fawning attention if she is on Sean Hannity’s or Glenn Beck’s program. Given the huge amount of time available to her, she seldom goes beyond her redundant talking points amounting to little more than bumper sticker slogans. The typical Palin segment begins with her outrage over whatever is the story of the day followed by her shots at the “lame stream” media, a derogatory characterization of the biased conventional media as critiqued by former CBS reporter, Bernard Goldberg whose expression is now a common fill-in-the-blank response in any typical commentary. She’ll soon transition into her limited insight on matters providing cliché talking points about “founding fathers,” “The Constitution,” or traditional values not citing anything in particular but only mentioning them as if divine proclamation in elementary simplistic narratives. Where possible, she’ll plug some of her agenda items like her childish, “Mama Grizzly” campaign.

Only Bill O’Reilly, the dean of Fox commentators, will ever hold her feet to the fire and attempt to sharpen the focus of her discussion. As if such access isn’t an amazing perk for such an unqualified public figure, all too often when a media figure, a late night comedian or show business figure makes some joke or sarcastic remark about Palin, it becomes news worthy on Fox portraying her as a victim of hostile media. While the media can be harsh and even dishonest about Palin, much of it goes with the turf when one is a public figure, As those episodes occur, quite often Palin is able to get a segment on camera to express her outrage and shock being insulted once again, launch into another “lame stream” media segment, and generally engage Fox viewers into a “Poor Sarah” pity party.

Fox News Network saying it is “fair and balanced” surely breaks that credo in its very obvious support of Sarah Palin. While they provide a valuable service providing the nation with the conservative point of view which is conspicuously absent elsewhere, they compromise the quality of that benefit by becoming active supporters of a highly controversial public figure who deserves much scrutiny and whose claims must be challenged if a news organization is to be truly objective and balanced.

Does Howard Dean have the kind of access to CNN or MSNBC that Sarah Palin enjoys at Fox? The answer should be disturbing to all Fox viewers.

George Soros and Friends Assault to Destroy Tea Party Movement

George Soros's big fat wallet and the usual suspects are at it again...


The radical left is at it again. Their obsession against the average middle class American has reached a new level of hysteria as they attempt to go all out to destroy the Tea Party movement.

Those who consider themselves, the mainstream in American politics and media, simply cannot accept the legitimacy of the Tea Party Movement. In truth, their agenda is anything but mainstream or what the majority of Americans support, but as the messenger they are struggling to control the message and bashing the Tea Party movement is essential for them to maintain their supremacy.

A coalition of the NAACP, Center for American Progress – a leftist group led by former Clinton associate, John Podesta, Media Matters – assembled by organizers of MoveOn.org to attempt to discredit any media reports that criticize their cause are all united to form another George Soros funded operation, Think Progress, whose first main operation will be “TeaPartyTracker.org with the intent to monitor “racism and other forms of extremism within the Tea Party movement.”

This is on the heels of a unanimous resolution on July 13th from the NAACP’s national convention which condemned the Tea Party as a racist organization.

For the radical left – as in the new face of the Democratic Party, most major news networks and many newspapers, and the elites in entertainment and academia, the notion of a grassroots movement is their property. A movement that comes up with a groundswell of support from the population must inherently be leftwing because all issues that negatively effect the population must be “progressive” concerns.

Much to their dismay, when the forces they’ve supported for so long have taken the reigns of power with a President more left-wing and socialistic than even the most well-established leaders in Europe, the heart and soul of the American people accustomed to individual freedom, free enterprise, and limited government would rise up against the collectivist ideals of the Obama Administration supported in the Senate by Harry Reid and fanatically embraced by House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. With a multibillion dollar bailout package that did little to serve the unemployed but instead being a goody-bag for a wide variety of left-wing causes – organized labor, leftist activists groups, and other key elements of the radical left, the public quickly reacted in anger. Add to that the government takeover of General Motors, Chrysler, and a large chunk of the banking industry, the march forward toward a state controlled economy was underway and the people were disturbed. When the government moved to take over the health care industry passing a bill which few who voted for it understood anything but the very basics, the anger boiled over into public confrontations as prior to the heavy brokered vote, angry citizens lit up their elected leaders who dared support the bill. Adding insult to injury, ACORN, a nationwide syndicate of corrupt supposedly community based organizations, an environment from which Obama’s political career emerged, was shown to be thoroughly corrupt on many levels but none the less were one of the key organizations that would get massive handouts from the bailout goody bag.

That the American people won’t accept such massive changes imposed upon them by a power-starved corrupt band of leftist politicians could only have one underlying cause to the radical left: the American people are racist. Their driving force is not rational thought or sincerely held values, but nothing less than loathsome racism refusing to accept mandates from a multiracial President.

As such, it has become an obsession with the left to prove their thesis, though evidence of such is non-existent. They point to a demonstration at the Capitol as congress rushed into the building to vote on the health care bill where angry words were exchanged and they maintained that there were some racial taunts, but where’s the evidence? There are no tapes, no videos, and no photographs. Further, it is no secret that MoveOn.org among other left wing groups have been recruiting infiltrators to mingle in with Tea Party events to attempt to stir up a scene.

Sadly, most Americans are not aware of the man behind the scene, George Soros, one of the world’s most corrupt and wicked figures who is attempting to use his massive wealth to slander legitimate institutions and use the media, the Internet, and organizing campaigns to forward an extreme leftwing agenda. Because they are sympathetic to Soros and perhaps fear his reprisals, the mainstream media will seldom even mention him as anything other than a wealthy philanthropist in their reportage.

So they are at it again, a massive smear campaign aimed to destroy those who don’t tow their line. Soon, lies and fabrications will be reported as fact as they attempt to use charges of racism and demanding the Tea Party respond to their criticism to get them off their objectives.

Up until now, no term could be more demonizing than to brand someone as racist; however, the term is being thrown about so freely so often against people who clearly are anything but wickedly prejudiced, its attack value will soon lose its punch while the real scourges of racial oppression move on in areas which are under the Democratic party’s control where things are run by the rules they’ve created. The prime example, obviously, is the retched conditions of urban school systems where despite huge increases in funding continue to produce every increasingly unsatisfactory results. Lord forbid the government would get tough with the corrupt and powerful urban teachers’ unions. What could be more seriously racist than building a political system which imposes a school system totally incapable of satisfying the needs of providing all children a quality education?

Who are those on the left wing to make accusations on any issue regarding finances, morality, or social justice when their efforts don’t work and are at best misguided but in truth an all out attempt to centralize power in the hands of an elite few who answer to nobody.

Beck's Reasoning -- Unhinged and Unwelcome

For those not familiar with Glenn Beck’s warped thinking and treachery, here are his comments about the upcoming event he has planned for Saturday, August 28 at the Lincoln Memorial, the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous March on Washington, the occasion for his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, an event which marked a significant turning point in the nation’s support in favor of civil rights for all citizens.

Beck writes:

As Saturday approaches, it's pretty interesting to see the opposition to the 8/28 Restoring Honor event coming from the usual suspects on the left. They are dutifully organizing counter rallies and doing their best to label this a gathering of a bunch of hatemongers. Leave it to the partisan hacks of today to stand firmly in opposition to a non political event centered around 'Restoring Honor' and the values and principles that made America great in the first place.

Note: Quickly Beck seeks to take up sides – those for and against him attempting to generalize about who stands against his charade. This writer is conservative on most issues but is steadfast in his opposition to staging an event on such a significant historical anniversary for the sake of self-promotion for himself and Sarah Palin. To say it is a non-political event when Beck’s program deals primarily with political issues and that Sarah Palin is one of the most polarizing political figures in the country makes that argument a shallow lie.

But there are people opposing it, and yes that means you may hop off the bus after riding 3000 miles only to have some anti-honor stooge calling you names. And the media may even join in as they did with the tea parties. But whatever hassle you endure, it will be nothing like what the people faced on August 28, 1963. Being part of the civil rights movement back then meant risking a whole lot more than just being the object of ridicule. That’s bad enough, but it's only the first small step on the way to what eventually happened during the civil rights era: segregation, beatings, and even death were all common place. Can you imagine what was going through the minds of people as they marched through Washington on the way to the Lincoln Memorial? Cautiously moving forward, surveying the landscape to see if anyone was making a move, knowing at any moment all hell could break loose. Imagine as they listened to the speech, the excitement and hope were matched only by the fear of what would or could happen next. It wasn't unfounded - less than a month after the speech, 26 children walked into the 16th Street Church completely unaware that a timed bomb had been placed beneath the steps. The blast killed 4 young girls and wounded several others. Why was it set? Because racist bigots disagreed with desegregation in schools. Nearly half a century later, as crowds set to gather once again, the threat is the not nearly the same - but people are still risking a lot.

How shallow Beck’s understanding of August 23, 1963 is. People like Dr. King put their lives on the line every day. Beck and Palin risk nothing other than further revealing was misguided asses they are. Glenn Beck wasn’t even born on this historic day nor was Sarah Palin. Ironically, they were born one day apart, Glenn Beck was born on February 10, 1964; Palin on February 11. Their upbringing and lives provide neither one of them with any significant contact with biracial society or the issues struggled with since 1963.

Thankfully, we've come a long way since then. But one thing that remains the same is that those opposing the rally do so from a position of ignorance. They have no idea what this rally is going to be. I know that because the complete program details haven't been released yet. They are relying on the tired old partisan talking points. Those who are mocking and calling names aren't listening to, or are choosing to ignore, the actual message. It's not about bigotry or politics. It's about the content of character and merit. I hope those at the counter rallies this Saturday and others opposing this event actually listen to the words with an open mind. Who knows, maybe they'll come join us and lock arms as we celebrate the principles and values that unite every American.

The clear contradiction -- Beck choses to divide and point fingers, being petty and self surving. Doctor King sought to unite and truly understood the phrase Beck throws around like a cheap tennis ball, "the content of their character." King inspired deep spiritual thought requiring soul-searching for answers where Beck and Palin live in a fill-in-the-blank world of bumper sticker slogans.

Glenn Beck is dead wrong to argue those opposing his rally do so out of ignorance. One would hardly call Greta Van Susterain, a fellow Fox News commentator, ignorant but she has published her opposition to this staged event. Sure some will oppose this event simply because Beck is a right-wing talk show host and Palin is an outspoken member of a faction of the Republican party; however, those who understand American history (something Beck pleads his viewers should attempt to do) understand why what he and Palin are planning is so inherently offensive. Who cannot see this scheme as something that doesn’t reek of self-serving opportunism?

For a media figure hell bent on exploiting his media exposure and a politician who has a mad craving for craving an audience’s approval to satisfy some basic narcissistic impulses, choosing this particular date and site for a “restore honor” campaign cannot be seen in isolation of the bigger picture, that for those subject to the evils of racism, Beck’s plan is a wicked intrusion into a most solemn foundation of their lives as Americans.

Beck and Palin are on record as being opposed to the Islamic Center, a mosque being built in the shadows of the New York World Trade Center. Many Americans see the blatant insensitivity of something giving praise to Allah near such hallowed grounds horribly out-of-touch with reality given 2700 plus Americans died on that site when two hijacked airlines were crashed in the twin towers. The last thing the passengers on those planes heard were radical Muslims screaming all glories to Allah.


For African-Americans, a rah-rah celebration of good old heartland American values presented by a slickster like Beck, reminds them that the Americanism Beck celebrates used to be used as agents of their oppression until brave men like Martin Luther King stood up to the powers that be to change things.

Fox news is complicit in this horribly misguided plan. Whether they are sponsors of this event or not, Palin and Beck are on their payroll and as one of the nation’s most widely viewed sources of news, whether intended or not, their connection with this event and any possible negative outcomes will not escape their perceived responsibility.

No doubt, regardless of the intentions of those involved. There will be those intent on fermenting chaos Saturday. Whether plants from the left infiltrate Beck’s crowd, or others intent on creating a scene, this event is so loaded with possible sources of tremendous treachery. Few will investigate into the real sources of the trouble. Simple rumors that anyone from the Beck gang engaged in any kind of racist behavior could be used as proof positive that the tea-party movement is exactly what opponents want it to be seen as.

Beck and Palin are too ego-centered to realize when they are walking into something unwelcomed and their blindness combined with the extent to which it can create dreadful consequences supports Right Minded Fellow’s longstanding opposition to both of them as detestable figures in the national political/media scene. Beck and Palin have thrown themselves into something that is way over their heads full of their shallow sense of craving for attention with no intellect or meaningful thought to offer in return.

Write Fox news, comment on any websites supporting Beck or Palin, but make it clear as sensitive Americans, you are not supporting their dangerous publicity stunt.

Fox News and the Wasilla Wench

Is there any clearer example of "advocacy journalism" than how Fox News supports Sarah Palin?

First, she is employed by the network as a commentator. As such, how can any hard news coverage of her behavior not be considered possibly biased or used to promote her work for the network?

Second, all to often, critical comments of the Wasilla Wench or abusive comments from the entertainment industry receive top line news coverage as well as substantial notice on commentary programs from Neil Cavuto, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Greta Van Susterain.

Sarah Palin is an active participant in the political process because the conservative, libertarian, and anti-Democrat population has seen so much vicious attacks against the former Governor of Alaska who resigned due to the pressures of her office have helped create the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" phenomenon to set it. Sarah Palin's intellect is limited to little more than a passionate recitation of bumper sticker slogans. She is clearly as George Will noted, one of the least intellectually curious people he has ever observed. She lacks the critical thinking skills or analytical abilities for leadership.

Fox seldom broadcast anything critical of Ms. Palin unless it's giving left-wingers a chance to throw bottles at her.

While we often cite Fox News as the source for much of our commentary, we cannot let their organizational errors go unchallenged and certainly Geraldo and Glenn Beck are two of the most irresponsible figures in all of media.

We can never accept any news organization without keeping our skepticism in tact. Question everything!

We pulled our posting on the Shirley Sherrod posting. While she certainly harbors some values and beliefs we find abhorrent, her prompt dismissal by the Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was an example of politically motivated railroading if there ever was one. The initial posting widely circulated was a snippet taken out of context perhaps using the same “gotcha’ technique the democrats and its supportive members of the media resort to way too often for the sake of character assassination.

For good measure, we did not source our posting based on Brietbart or Fox News. While we find their regular news coverage is generally quite acceptable on an issue like this, we felt another source not as actively involved in some current issues involving the NAACP, race, and manipulation by the Obama administration would be helpful. We used The Christian Science Monitor.

The video was produced and owned by an Atlanta chapter of the NAACP.

All this reveals some very troubling issues. On this issue, could perhaps Fox News or Brietbart be guilty of jumping too fast without doing sufficient “due diligence” on this story? Absolutely, this is the consequence of the 24 hour news cycle where news sources are so quick to get stories out perhaps some need to age a little for being dead on sure the story is presented in the right context.

In recent days, we’ve seen the NAACP use race as a wedge to attempt to destroy the Tea party movement demanding they make public statements denouncing racism among their ranks. Media reports of true tea party members exhibiting racist conduct have NEVER been substantiated. Yet when Mark Williams of the Tea Party Express wrote a satirical letter pretending to be the NAACP writing Lincoln about abolition, a very idiotic and senseless work of trash, he and his faction were immediately banned from the Tea Party – to the extent there is central authority to do so in the Tea Party.

This week a story broke that showed there was an active conspiracy among journalists who setup a website that orchestrated pro-Obama coverage seeking to quash the Jeremiah Wright issue and brand any Obama critics as racist.

The extent to which left wing sources are lashing out with charges of racism establishing in essence any objection to Obama, his policies or positions, are racially motivated simply because he is the first African American president has clearly become such a widely used tactic it amounts to the boy crying wolf or screaming “Fire” in a movie theater.

The whole issue of racial divisions and real problems are being trivialized. Once a sure fire way to demonize an opponent and do irreparable, identifying a person as racist now has become a new version the old “Do you still beat your wife?” intimidation. It becomes difficult for responsible public figures to advance their agendas and policies when they must answer to charges of racism regardless how false and scathing they are. Knowing how quickly the race card stirs up emotions, the left is well aware of this and uses it as yet another hateful tool in their arsenal of dirty tricks and filthy tactics as their methodology supports that their ends justify whatever means they can generate to get the desired result. Fundamental human decency, civility, and the truth quickly become casualties to power hungry corrupt political operatives who use Saul Alinksky’s Rules for Radicals as the framework for their operation.

Clearly, the notion circulated as Barack Obama rose to power as being a “post racial” person is a classic Orwellian big lie, but it’s clear how much this mythology helped bolster his campaign and sell his appeal to the gullible media drenched public. The Obama presidency now halfway through its second year has proven to be one of the most openly divisive mean-spirited and hateful administrations, perhaps the worst in American history, and surely in modern essentially free nations throughout the world since World War II. The Obama administration, the kingpins of the legislative branch, and much of the mainstream media is quick to use any means to demonize those who don’t accept their politics, values, and rhetoric faithfully and unquestioningly.

The affairs of the last few weeks has added tremendous fuel to the opportunistic left’s efforts to further divide the country into victim groups using identity politics to attempt to sucker in converts to their cause. Meanwhile, commentators, news sources like Fox News, Brietbart, Matt Drudge, corporate executives, or anyone who can be classified at the hateful rich continue to be painted as the villains responsible for everything wrong with the country as if all companies were as irresponsible as BP. Wall Street is used as a label to describe the enemy in their warped frame of mind. Never mind that they have plenty of corrupt businesses that they kowtow to for a stream of incoming funds.

Against these issues and the current political and mass media landscape, it’s time for people guided by principle to stand up and assert themselves. Whether people in influential positions speak up in proper public forums or regular citizens step forward in Town Hall meetings, local municipal functions, or just conversations with friends and family, all of us who appreciate how badly the very foundation of our culture are threatened, must speak out. We must understand the promise of the Declaration of Independence and how our laws and government are built upon the foundation of The Constitution. We must attack media outlets that mislead us and lie about the affairs of state. Do not watch network or local news that demagogues the issues. Cancel subscriptions to biased newspapers and magazines. Refuse to purchase products from corporations that engage in crony capitalism or function in unlawful and unethical way as against the public good.

We cannot let race divide us. We’re all just people. That a person is of a different race should matter no more than their hair color, height, or any other innate visual quality. Contrary to what the Obama radicals believe, at heart, at the essential level all Americans are far more alike than they are different and most will do the right thing if properly educated and motivated.

Media Bias -- Worse than Imagined

Did even the most cynical among us think that the left-wing journalists had a truly orchestrated plan to slant the media?

Probably not.

The assumption many of us have thought is that the mainstream old media consists of a lot of likeminded people who reinforce their biases and beliefs through their interaction and socializing, but to think that some members of the media were actively engaged in producing purposely slanted news might have seen like a stretch, until now.

Starting with the issue of Reverend Jeremiah Wright and its possible harm to the Obama campaign, a group of journalists discussed how to keep a lid on the story and create smokescreens to bottle up those intent on making a big issue of the dangers Wright posed.

The strategy, label key conservatives as racists.

The story is being widely reported today, but rather than offer support from Fox News or Brietbart who the left will quickly attempt to smear as hostile right wing sources, let’s go to The Christian Science Monitor. Today they’ve published an expose revealing some very disturbing media tactics.

Numerous left wing media members belong to an Internet group called JournoList until the list was recently disbanded. It provided a means by which like minded leftists could communicate ideas and strategies to others including spin factors on how to cover certain news events. One journalist, Spencer Ackerman sought to create a smokescreen to divert attention from the Jeremiah Wright flare up by purposely attacking prominent conservatives to make that the big story to supersede coverage on Wright. Ackerman suggested, “Pick one of Obama's conservative critics, Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares – and call them racists."

He went on to state indicating it was meant to take rhetorically, “What is necessary is to raise the cost on the right of going after the left. In other words, find a right-winger’s [sic] and smash it through a plate-glass window. Take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear.”

Spencer Ackerman is an independent self-described national security reporter who worked for the New Republic before termination for insubordination

The conservative site, Daily Caller, went on to report that journalists for Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the New Republic, Salon, and the Guardian were outraged at what they considered rough treatment directed at Barack Obama in debates from George Stephanopoulos and Charlie Gibson (hardly known for having conservative outlooks).

Worse, Michael Tomasky of the Guardian urged Journo-List members to do “what we can to kill ABC and this idiocy in whatever venues we have.”

The implication is clear. What was written off as the ravings of rightwing talk show hosts and columnists has far more real substance than ever imagined previously. The voracity of news coverage must be further viewed with doubt and skepticism. Accusations directed at Obama critics must be further filtered for the motive behind the accusation. Clearly, the insinuation has been since the early days of the presidential candidate selection process – those who don’t buy into the myth of Obama, write gleefully about what a historical wonder he represents, or suggest any criticism of him whatsoever do so at their own peril at the risk of being branded a racist.

Since the victory of the civil rights movement and ascent of political correctness, there is no more damning accusation than one being labeled “racist.” Lives and reputations have been destroyed by such charges. However, with what has been played up in the media and the degree to which charges of racism are being so casually hurled about, the true evil of racism is being diminished where the charges themselves don’t carry the weight they once did because of the intense demagoguery and character assassination voices of the left have perpetrated especially in support of Obama and the attempts to destroy his critics. More and more, Saul Alinsky’s tactics defined in his Rules for Radicals have become the modus operandi of the radical left or self-described “progressives.”

The left have shown time and time again whether it is what the media has demonstrated in this reportage or how the Obama administration with the Pelosi/Reid led legislature attempts to ramrod its agenda into practice, in their world the end result justifies whatever means are necessary to achieve it. Lies, distortions, false accusations, and character assassination are all fair game when going against those who don’t support their agenda.

All right-minded Americans must find this conduct unacceptable and make sure those who practice it are held accountable for their behavior. Whether it is voting out of office corrupt leaders or refusing to support inflammatory media sources, their treachery will not be tolerated. Whether we like it or not, we are all soldiers or prisoners in a great cultural war. Do we support a constitutional republic or will we allow our society to degenerate into a socialist collective?

Newsweek: 24 Year Old Hack Disguises Pro-Obama Administration Editorial as News

Once again, the O’Reilly Factor is right on top of the issue of agenda driven media coverage, this time a 24 year old reporter, David Graham, “reporting” on the case of members of the New Black Panther party engaged in intimidating voters at a poll in Philadelphia during the 2008 presidential election. The feds had charges all but ready for a judge’s penalty pronouncement when Eric Holder, the corrupt and radical Attorney General for the Obama administration dropped the charges.

Press coverage on this miscarriage of justice has been slight to put it mildly. Enter David Graham’s article in Newsweek which essentially establishes in an ignorant and juvenile fashion why this matter is only important as a matter of right wing bigoted propaganda and not a matter of serious law or public concern. Start with his conclusion to his editorial disguised as a news “story” and work backwards. The young boy concludes, “Like the ACORN case, it's not about a real investigation; it's about staging an effective piece of political theater that hurts the Obama administration.”

Graham takes the huge leap to tie together a matter of law enforcement at an urban polling place with the citizen journalist efforts in the Acorn revelations. While the New Black Panthers and ACORN are both organizations pursuing radical agendas using demagoguery and distortion to manipulate uneducated blacks into serving their ideological purposes, each situation stands on its own merits and is significant for different reasons. What they do have in common is how they hold up a huge mirror to reflect the agenda, radicalism, and racial manipulation of Obama’s administration and those who support him.

Through smears, mischaracterizations, lack of documentation, and bizarre insinuations, young Graham attempts to connect allegations the Tea Party movement is racist, the attack on ACORN is racist, and the uproar over the New Black Panthers is much ado over nothing. Part of his case attempts to characterize a former Robert F. Kennedy aide, Bartell Bull as an illegitimate voice on this issue for being a critic of Obama’s administration. As such, Bull’s observation on the Philadelphia case as, "the most blatant form of voter intimidation I have encountered in my political campaigns in many states, even going back to the work I did in Mississippi in the 1960s," has no teeth simply because the person does not walk in step with Obama’s desires.

Likewise, there’s the good old “Blame Bush” element too. After all, the justice official who resigned rather than continue in his role when it chose not pursue charges against the Panthers, an investigation he worked on, J. Christian Adams, could only be viewed as providing “questionable” insight into the facts of the case.

While Graham is glib at using well worn leftist rhetoric and attempting to create bogeymen out of solid fair-minded professionals, his assertions fail for providing no facts, no counter evidence, only insinuations by those who would have an agenda to support Obama’s justice department in the first place.

Not only is this presentation in Newsweek shoddy agenda driven journalism crafted by an immature 24 year old hack, it is also blatant editorial commentary misplaced in the news. Is it any wonder Newsweek is failing so miserably?

Arizona Immigration Controversy: READ THE LAW

The misconceptions about the Arizona effort to control the tide of illegal aliens entering through the state's south border and taxing the state resources are out of control. The agenda driven left-wing crowd who define the truth as whatever needs to be said to obtain their ideological goal are at it again.

While our sympathies do not reside with the approach many conservatives demand, we must have an orderly process which defines how foreigners may obtain residence in the United States. There must be clear, understandable, enforceable policies for those who violate the law. Most importantly, those who traffic in bringing in illegal aliens or entice aliens to come to America to be employed illegally must be held responsible and face legal action accordingly.

We cannot let the current situation drive our country into a state of xenophobia or anti-immigrant hysteria. We are a welcoming nation. All of us come from somewhere that is not from sea to shining sea.

Here's the law. It clarifies the issue and shoots holes through the outrageous claims of racism and persecution the left is screaming. The problem is, resolving immigration issues is supposed to be a Federal responsibility. What is a state to do when the National Government fails to fulfill its duty?

The immigration mess is tangled up in a vicious web between government inaction, the extreme and incomprehensible stance of the left and the knee-jerk reactionary stance of some on the right. Meanwhile, the problems persist and lives are in the balance.
