Lord forbid I defend the Palins, however, as the video clearly shows, there's something a little twisted by some folks on the left's point of view. Naturally, this would be shown on MSNBC.

Anthony Weiner is a person in whom the public trust has been bestowed. What he did was sick, perverted, and represents complete moral corruption, a sense that the rules don't apply to him.

Now can Sarah Palin be held responsible for her daughter getting knocked up? Only indirectly. Naturally people might speculate she was too wrapped up in her career or was not a responsible mother, but most folks who've had teenage daughers know things happen.

As for Bristol Palin, she was irresponsible. She exercised bad judgment and a lack of maturity. Bristol can be held up as an example to show the importance of avoiding premature and immature sexual encounters and if participating in the elicit act practicing proper protection. There is nothing wicked, no intent to take advantage of others, nothing perverted about her conduct.

Politics aside, where Weiner, of course, represents the extreme left of the Democratic party, how he conducts himself is the ultimate example of a throughly horrible human being, a sick and twisted mean-spirited man who lacks respect towards others and any trace of civil behavior.

For those liberal apologists who keep carping that Weiner didn't break any laws, first it's premature to say that. Second, if being a responsible person worthy of virtue only means obeying the law, that's an awfuly low standard. Weiner is the poster child for what a horrible, detestable, thoroughly rotten human being is all about.

We offer no sympathy for Weiner. We hope that Mrs. Weinder can steer threw this situation without having her life ruined anymore than what being in the company of a total bucket of scum has already inflicted upon her. God forbid, how sad it would be if reports of her being pregnant are true. Let us pray that there is nothing genetic to Weiner's hateful character, that Mrs. Weiner can divorce this scum bag, and that she can find a man who will love her and treat her child with unconditional love.

No matter how cynical we might be about the political process, we must accept that Anthony Weiner is exceptionally bad no matter who on Capitol hill might be compared to him. Even Nancy Pelosi has moral fabric Weiner lacks.

As for MSNBC and their panelists, what does anyone expect from a corrupt network of left-wing advocates.

Can we just be honest, Anthony Weiner is simply a totally disgusting human being. This writer is sick of the classic liberal non-sense saying that his presence in Congress should be up to the voters and “we don’t know if any laws have been broken.”

If that’s the standard we’re willing to expect, is it any wonder our country is so screwed up and our leaders so contemptuous?

For his entire tenure in Congress, Weiner has made an art out of extreme boorishness and excessive rudeness casually taunting and insulting his colleagues interrupting them contrary to established House protocol. He has demonstrated pure incivility toward reporters scolding them for their attitudes and toying with them avoiding answering their questions.

Now we know he’s used electronic media to share pictures of his penis and other such things to various females he has contacted through social networking. Additionally, the attempt to which he attempted to deny responsibility for his conduct with typical Weiner rudeness underscores the kind of sick scoundrel he is even attempting to have an ABC reporter arrested for attempting to get an interview at his office.

People of such dishonor do not belong in what should be our nation’s most respected institutions and that we might sneer sarcastically at characterizing them as esteemed is thanks to loathsome wretches like Weiner whose conduct is simply unacceptable.

How many believe such conduct would not result in dismissal from jobs in the private sector?

If Anthony Weiner had any honor he’d resign immediately; however, no one should hold his or her breath. This man is a bastard and a total asshole in the highest degrees of possible insult and derision. Human beings don’t come much worse than this man. Find redeeming qualities that would make him anything less than a thoroughly disgusting, totally rotten human being.

No matter how this plays out, Weiner will be treated with more respect and decency than how he treated his adversaries in the past and will probably do in the future. He’s an egotistical pig who finds himself the center of the universe. However, that universe has gotten much smaller this past week and that’s a good thing.

Anthony Weiner will deserve all the insults about a real Weiner showing off his Weiner and lying about it claiming his communication devices were hacked but then creating nothing but insane excuses in response.

If there is a more disgusting American than Donald Trump, who is he? Could there be a more thoroughly mean-spirited, self-infatuated, opportunistic, back-stabbing, two-faced, totally dishonest, absolute bully than Donald Trump? Soon the media will make him the poster child of the American rich. The more he talks the greater the chances of an Obama landslide next year.

As if the specter of Sarah Palin playing a major role in the next election weren't frightening enough, Trump is far more dangerous because he has wealth, power, and persistence Palin could never dream of. Palin's just a simple not too smart dip-shit. She's just talk -- way too much talk. Trump can cause serious ruin.

Trump creates the perfect target for everything the Democrats see as unjust and wicked about our society believing that all those who are enormously successfully and have achieved much wealth are just like Trump. Trump provides the Democrats with a much bigger target who personifies everything they'd ever revile than Republicans could ever gain from holding up Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, or Harry Reid as the embodiment of what's wrong with the left.

Here's the challenge. Now is the time for the Republicans to shut down Donald Trump and do so forcefully. If left for the Democrats to do, it will be at the expense of perhaps the survival of the Republican party itself.

It's time to publicize every one Trump has ever screwed, every business deal he has ever botched, every person who has been destroyed by Trump, every dirty little detail of his personal life. The response must be forceful and as unwielding as how Trump treats his adversaries.

As decent, thoughtful Americans, we cannot afford to let Donald Trump ever be the standard bearer of any political entity or be seen as the personification of American success.  Study what he says and how he says it and the extent to which he constantly bloviates about his own perceived virtues and the total contempt he has for others. There is no way any American could trust this man in the most powerful job in the World. There's likewise, no way any sane person would pay for any Trump product.

We've grown numb with all the liars, scoundrels, crooks, and ego-maniacs in high positions in American society. Barack Obama is not only the worst President in U.S. History, incompetent, corrupt, and ideologically driven steeped in pure Marxist influence. We see the total moral depravity in the character of so many celebrities from Charlie Sheen to Lindsay Lohan. Given such scandals as Enron, the bank and mortgage industry collapse, Bernie Madoff, and the BP spill, corporate moguls aren't looking too respectable right now either no matter how many of them are great people, running great companies, providing wonderful products. Donald Trump is a horrible representative of any major roll he plays. 

The heart and soul of the American people is something he cannot buy nor can he bully his way into controlling. Collectively, what's good in the heart of the American people is far stronger than all the fear, doubt, greed, anger, and hatred Donald Trump is attempting to use as a tool to achieve ultimate power. Okay, the viewers who surf the Fox Life website are probably pretty hardcore conservatives not just day-to-day viewers, but this issue strikes a cord with  some and it is one that will lead to no good consequences for anyone.
Does it seem to fellow, when the Republicans score a huge triumph, soon thereafter something happens that destroys them? In 1972, Nixon won by a huge landslide. Two years later, he was gone – WATERGATE.

Reagan was the one Republican who truly did things right but beneath him, why couldn’t the Republicans in congress get anywhere?

George H.W. Bush declared “No new taxes.” We saw what happened with that.

Newt Gingerich and his guys swept into congress with the Contract with America. Soon, Clinton was playing them like a fiddle. They balanced the budget and Clinton got the credit. Then they did the ultimate act of self-destruction pursuing impeachment of Clinton for getting his on the job blow jobs and the little blue dress. The Republicans could have held that over his head and whacked him, but they pursued inflation knowing the Senate would not support them and viciously divided the nation in so doing.

By the time ol’ Dubya became President and promised a new civility, the congressional Republicans had become almost that which they were elected to replace, a bunch of self-serving entrenched, special interest catering fat cats who spent like there was no tomorrow. Claiming to be the moral party and that morality mattered, how many of them got caught with their pants down?

In 2008 after taking an ass whooping in 2006 bringing in the reign of terror of Reid and Pelosi, they nominated an aged backstabber who sold them out in many a crucial moment including teaming up with Wisconsin Senator Feinstein creating an absolutely pro-Democrat finance bill, John McCain, who then nominated a thoroughly mindless inexperienced shrill fluff brain, Sarah Palin, as VP, setting the stage for the election of the most radical, communist, socialist, and liberation theology influenced inexperienced figures to win the White House in Barack Obama.

After enduring a thorough whipping in the 2008 election, the Democrats sewed the seeds for Republican resurgence seizing control of General Motors, Chrysler, and the nation’s health care system as radicals popped up like flowers in May like Van Jones, Valarie Harper and a host of Chicago political machine operatives. They were poised to retake both houses of congress, but thanks to Sarah Palin’s involvement in some key Senate races, what would have been sure Republican gains in Nevada and Delaware, the intellectually challenged dingbats she endorsed won. Nevertheless, the turnover in the House was impressive. After the 2010 election, they were poised to march on and create living hell for the Democrats hand-cuffing the Obama administration.

Somehow assertiveness and forceful dedication to the issues seemed to give way to personality issues, but regardless of that, seeing figures like Sarah Palin shaping up as possible nominees for the 2012 Presidential nomination were bad enough to make losing their recent gains a true reality, then comes a long Donald Trump spewing a lot of hot-tempered knee jerk inflammatory right wing flamethrower talk show issues introducing it all surrounding the most nothing issue of nothing issues in ages, whether or not a birth certificate can be produced proving Barack Obama is a legitimate US citizen.

Suddenly the Democrats have exactly what that want, tangible proof the Republicans are a bunch of yokel racists. While many Republicans are way too smart to engage in such stupidity ad John Boehner did on “Meet the Press” despite substantial goading by left wing attack dog host, David Gregory. Now enter Donald Trump, the bully’s bully, the manic master of self-promotion making the birth certificate issue his rallying point indicting he might run for President. In using the TV talk show circuit as his platform, he’s continued to “trump up” the “birther” issue while making outrageous claims how he’d play tough with everyone else in the world or who would hold a position contrary to “The Donald” basically pounding his chest screaming “my way or the highway” and inviting anyone who’d dare question him to kiss his butt. Now the Trumpster is sending investigators to Hawaii to attempt to determine if a birth certificate exists. On has to feel Barack Obama couldn’t be delighted more. As horrible as things looked for him, with Sarah Palin and now Donald Trump diverting attention from the serious Republicans who are working hard to unravel his policies giving the media and his supporters tons of raw red meat to portray the Republicans as a bunch of racist rubes, Obama can surely see opposition amounting to far more hot air than substance.

Muzzling Trump will be no easy task. There is no charismatic front running candidate for the 2012 nomination…Chris Christie and Mark Rubio aren’t ready yet. Some could ultimately prevail on the issues, are being drowned out by two of the most polarizing shrill showboats getting all the media’s attention.

If Barack Obama is smiling more recently, maybe he envisions running against a Trump/Palin ticket. That could make the landslides the Republicans enjoyed 1972 and 1984 look tiny by comparision.

Wake up conservatives. Your prompt destruction is appearing on a television program somewhere tonight. It’s time for reason and focus to prevail.

2010 was a bumper crop year for idiots, lowlifes, liar, loud-mouths, losers, and generally maladjusted individuals to make their mark. While surely Barack Obama could top the list just has he has since his emergence in the public eye – what can we say about O-blunder that we haven’t said already. Whether it was publicly dressing down John McCain during a White House meeting on the economy, the countless sorties around the globe he and his Mrs. embarked upon, his failure to take seriously the day-to-day administrative roll of government demonstrating the incompetence borne of inexperience, his constant whining and finger pointing and lightly veiled efforts to push the republic ever closer to European style socialism, ol’ O-blunder deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award in the sphere of hateful politics.

Nancy Pelosi
Close behind Obama’s performance and surely one of the most despicable figures in recent American history would be Queen Nancy. Good old Nancy Pelosi, we needn’t list her many crimes here. We do allow ourselves a little schadenfreude that she will now be flying commercial stripped of the elegant military transport she demanded upon ascent to her Queen Bitch position. She best summed up the kind of arrogant idiot she is when addressing a supportive audience of special interest lackeys concerning Obama-care when she stated: “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy….”

Sarah Palin
As if the previous two years weren’t long enough for Sarah Palin to wear out her welcome, her self-serving publicity gag about Momma Grizzlies is enough to elicit vomiting. Attempting to seize the Tea Party movement as the “Elect Palin in 2012” mob, her involvement in the mid-term elections turned something very good into great possibilities squandered. Her personal vendetta against the Murkowski family in Alaska saw Joe Miller defeat Murkowski in the primaries then to lose to her in the general election through write-in ballots. Nevada was well on its way to ridding itself of Harry the horrible with a strong field of challengers. Palin supported Sharon Angle, a nice lady but someone so hopelessly confused, she just wasn’t cut out to be a senator, thus, Harry Reid remains. The Republicans even had a rare chance to gain a Senate seat in Delaware filling what had been Joe Biden’s seat. Their incumbent congressman was poised to slaughter the democratic opposition. Enter Christine O’Donnell, a world class dip shit who many would see as Sarah Palin’s version of mini-me. Another Senate seat remained with the Democrats. Palin has unprecedented media access with Fox News who finds a spot or more for her just about every evening. How nauseating it is to hear a grown-up crying about the naughty boy sitting next to her trying to poke her eye out Her name calling, blame-storming and whining far exceed anything she has going for her. She dare not articulate policies as what little she says about US History or the Constitution wouldn’t reach a middle school level of achievement.


Brett Favre
Brett Favre should have known the party was over when the Vikings lost to the Saints in the NFC championship. That he was staying at his Deep South digs while the rest of the NFL players reported to camp and had to be coaxed into joining the Vikings when a cadre of team mates flew to Mississippi to bring him up north clearly indicated it was time to hang it up. From the very beginning his performance on the field was a disaster then came the charges of hanky-panks with a female member of the New York Jets from two seasons earlier. Finally, his Iron Man streak was over. He was no longer the Huck Finn lovable eternal boy wonder. He was a tired old fart over the hill.

Glenn Beck
Outside a handful of HNN viewers and hardcore devotees to right wing radio, Glenn Beck was a mere nobody two years ago. Like a sickly pestilence, his presence has oozed its way into the conservative voice and if rational folk with traditional values don’t start ostracizing this charlatan the credibility of American conservatism could take a severe hit. The man is a fraud, a fear monger, and a raving demagogue. Beneath the showmanship and wild raves, there is little credible substance but plenty which we find distorted, overstated and misrepresented.

Nothing could demonstrate how dangerous Glenn Beck is than the huge rally he hosted in Washington DC on August 28, 2010 at the Lincoln Memorial, the anniversary of the Martin Luther King “I Have a Dream” speech held on that spot 47 years earlier. To stage a rally dedicated to the whitest of white people couldn’t be a symbolic slap in the face to all who were engaged, liberated, or supportive of the civil rights struggle of that time.

While Beck speaks of the value of learning history and the Constitution, he is a master of neither showing an uncanny ability to selectively take things out of context weaving a quasi-religion that is fundamentalist Christianity at heart but where the disciples and lesser deities are the American founding fathers whose lives were so pure, their wisdom so brilliant, today’s society should stand in awe-struck unquestioning reverence of their contributions. Those who align themselves with those values, “traditional American” values are the good guys. Beck attempts to demonstrate how the world and the United States in particular are speeding like an out of control train toward inevitable destruction lead by a monolithic progressive movement which has been in the driver’s seat in America since Teddy Roosevelt paved the way and Woodrow Wilson got it moving full speed ahead. There are the outwardly obvious “progressives” who are not so thinly veiled communists and socialists such as Barrack Obama and major media and government sources, but there are creepy people he believes the public doesn’t know about such as billionaire financier George Soros who he describes as the puppet master.

Beck screams, cries, and pleads that his followers make a decision – there are but two choices, the traditionalists versus the progressives. History is rapidly moving to an apocalyptic showdown where one side or another will reign supreme after our culture is ravaged by economic collapse, moral decay, and other bad things promoted by progressives.

In preparing for the judgment day, Beck even goes as far as suggesting that his followers horde food and invest every spare dime they have in gold (gold sellers sponsor his show) so they will emerge secure when the rest of the world collapses.

Beck’s gift for extreme overstatement, misrepresentation, and all out pure emotionalism make him a most dangerous fellow attracting the fearful and anti-intellectuals who feel at odds with today’s political picture.

Alan Grayson
Thankfully, Alan Grayson will have a hard time making the list for 2011 since the Florida voters in the Orlando area had enough of his foolishness and voted him out.

Grayson shocked the country with the extreme anger and malicious mischaracterizations of his opponents. First, he did a poster board talk on the floor of the house where successive posters accompanying his narration indicated the Republican health plan were as follows: Don’t get sick. If you get sick, the Republicans want you to die.

In his campaign against Republican Daniel Webster, he ran a campaign ad taking clippings from a completely unrelated Webster speech attempting to establish Webster’s devote Christian faith to being akin to the Taliban that created a message that was in complete opposition to what Webster’s original speech had been about using the phrase, “submit to me” to characterize Webster’s attitude toward women. If there were ever a more mean spirited political ad, it would be hard to imagine what that ad would look like.

Julian Assange
The principle of WikeLeaks appointed himself as a one man arbiter of world order seeking to attempt to undermine American influence by releasing a series of classified government and military documents with threats to do the same for major US corporations including the banking industry. Charged with raping two women in Sweden, this loathsome scumbag has used the Internet as a tool of espionage consistent with the sense of anarchism which infects the radical left and which surfaces in every locale where world leaders gather for G-8 conferences. Interestingly enough, there are at least some connections between Assange and George Soros.

Meanwhile, Assange has become a celebrity of the highest order to some figures in the radical left including Michael Moore. Likewise some extreme right wingers who represent a warped sense of distorted libertarianism embrace his revelations as well.

Hopefully the world justice system will lead him to the United States where he’ll spend the rest of his days in a high security federal prison though Gitmo might be a better setting that Obama would never consider.

PFC Bradley Manning
We’ll soon discover how strict the code of military justice is in the new millennium. Army PFC Bradley Manning assigned to a support battalion with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division then based in Iraq gained access to the government’s Secret Internet Protocol Router Network. He copied the data onto CD or DVD media which he had labeled as a Lady Gaga recording. Working through middlemen, the material was transferred to Assange resulting in massive disclosure.

Perhaps the military should have engaged in more due diligence before assigning Manning to any operation involving intelligence. His biographical details indicate a young man who was defiant, rebellious, confrontational, and willing to defy authority.

Like Assange, Manning is being elevated to celebrity and hero status by the radical left who are attempting to create a furor claiming Manning is being mistreated in custody even imploring the United Nations to investigate. Michael Moore and others are raising money for his defense. Manning is also openly homosexual and has participated in “Gay Pride” events in defiance of the military’s archaic “don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy. For some he is being cast as a victim of an anti-gay military which is of course nonsense given the nature of his crime and that he can hardly be cited as the victim of being framed given the extent to which he has acknowledged his misdoings.

Ultimately, his crimes as a United States soldier constitute treason of the highest order for which he could be executed. Regardless, anything short of full acquittal which is highly unlikely, for the radical left, he will be made into some kind of martyr while rational society will seem him for what he is a treacherous criminal hell bent on damaging national security.

Christine O’Donnell
Just when she was starting to become a fading bad memory, Christine O’Donnell was thrown back in the media spotlight amidst allegations she misused campaign funds in her run for Senator of Delaware.

We can say one thing of Christine O’Donnell. She was not the most unqualified and stupid person to run for Senate in 2010. That award goes to Alvin Greene who ran for the Democrats in South Carolina with zero chance of defeating incumbent, Jim DeMint.

The Republicans had a rare opportunity in Delaware generally a very predictable liberal state. Joe Biden’s long held seat was open. Congressman Michael Castle, well-known state wide having also served as governor, looked like a shoe-in to be Delaware’s next senator, a most important net gain for the Republicans marching toward majority status. Far-left Democrat, Chris Coons, with a reputation for lavish spending and raising taxes, would offer but token opposition. Enter Sarah Palin and her ability to arouse the Tea Party sympathies while perhaps many voters would have seen it plausible Castle could be defeated, and suddenly a person with no meaningful experience and a closet full of personal, financial, and legal issues ripe for revelation, Christine O’Donnell won the state’s Republican Party. Almost immediately, now Coons looked like the shoe-in and O’Donnell the long shot. Perhaps her greatest accomplishment was organizing a political group SALT, “The Savior’s Alliance for Lifting the Truth.” Among topics O’Donnell would select for public speeches were naïve and highly doctrinaire views on human sexuality including sex out of wedlock and masturbation. All the while, her ability to manage her personal responsibilities proved elusive even having been sued for foreclosure and other debts. The IRS initiated a lien on her fiancés to recover $11,000 in unpaid taxes. On top of all that, her stated college credentials were not accurate.

One biographical detail showed where she apparently engaged in some kind of witchcraft ceremony as she revealed on an appearance on Bill Maher’s television show. This provided the ultimate source for all kinds of fun at the hands of political comedians. This led to the ultimate concise statement why Christine O’Donnell simply lacked any kind of political credibility when she appeared in a black dress against a black background for a campaign ad where she stated, “I am not a witch. I’m you.” That line would become the butt of many jokes through the campaign. At her best, she seemed like a shoddy Sarah Palin recreation, little wonder then, that Palin would find her attractive.

That she was defeated having received 40% of the vote that one would have to wonder how many of those votes were for her or were protest votes against the Democratic agenda, it appeared she would disappear from the headlines. Lo and behold, it would only stand to reason someone as inept as she would be likely to screw up using her campaign finances properly and in the closing days of 2010, headlines surfaced she was facing Federal grand jury investigation. Naturally, she claimed she was being setup and that Joe Biden was the instigator. What she fails to realize is she is most likely far too small a flea to be worthy of such.

The one transcendent good O’Donnell offers is that every bit of attention she draws helps demonstrate how unsuited for any roll in national politics Sarah Palin is worthy of. She and her Alaskan mentor are two of a kind to be sure – loud mouthed, naïve, and intellectually vapid.


LeBron James
LeBron James had it all, as one of the NBA’s top talents, he reached supreme stardom for his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, more recently, James indicated Akron was his hometown, and folks from Akron aren’t big fans of the larger Cleveland thinking that Clevelanders look down their nose at the lowly folks from Akron.

After a standout showing as one of the nation’s top high school players, James signed directly into the pros with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. It took little time for James to rise up as one of the league’s top stars possibly rivaling players like Kobe Bryant as the game’s top talent. Just as quickly as his star rose in the media so did his ability to attract controversy. While worthy of praise for his giving to charity, his lack of cooperation with teammates and others plus blatant self promotion quickly cast him as the poster child of the excessively indulgent overpaid star athlete completely devoid of any humility whatsoever right down to having a huge tattoo reading “Chosen 1.”

At the end of the 2010 season, LeBron James became a free agent and quickly sought to burn all bridges with the Cavaliers string them out while evaluating his options. As the ultimate expression of blind hubris, James announced that ESPN would provide him his own announcement program where he would announce the team for which he would play. To add insult to injury, he did not inform Cleveland of his decision to play for the Miami Heat until just moments before the broadcast.

Working in tandem with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, the threesome negotiated contracts with the Miami Heat to form the power nucleus that was supposed to ensure championships heading to the land of South Beach for years to come. To further the made publicity campaign, James, Wade, and Bosh arranged a huge coming out celebration where they would introduce themselves in a highly choreographed to hip-hop tastelessness show with multiple theatric gimmicks before an adoring crowd of screaming Miami fans.

The reaction in Cleveland, not the most mature sports fans in the nation, was swift and vicious supported by a wrathful open letter from the team’s owner bashing James for his decision. In some media circles the Cleveland fans were portrayed as something more than shunned lovers but as racist bigots infuriated by a young black man setting himself free from the plantation even getting Jesse Jackson involved.

If anyone needs evidence that MTV is a sickly cancer eroding the moral fabric of America, we provide Snooki (Nicole Polizzi) and the rest of the ensemble of misfits, social dropouts, and dysfunctional youth elevated to cult hero status by this MTV “reality” program. The program follows these eight cretins horrible misrepresentations in many cases of Americans with Italian pedigree as they engage in their hedonistic, decadent lifestyles including Snooki’s addiction to exposure to ultraviolet rays as if there were some secret agenda to discover just how fast one can develop skin cancer in pursuit of a nauseating overdone tan. While perhaps too young to have a resume of failure akin to Christine O’Donnell this Chilean born, Italian raised train wreck aspires to be a veterinary technician but her greatest accomplishment would appear to be her July 30 arrest for public intoxication.

If pornography is material with absolutely no social redeeming value, “Jersey Shore,” is smut of the highest order. Like so many other MTV phenomenon of the past, we can only hope the ratings plummet only to see what the purveyors of puke will come of with next.

These ten figures by no means represent the complete list of scoundrels. Several others are worthy of attention including Nevada Senator Harry Reid, Washington Redskins coaching father and son combo, Mike and Kyle Shanahan, the ever present dufus face of the Obama administration, Robert Gibbs. Surely, Maryland Governor, Martin O’Malley, with his crass and dishonest reelection campaign for reelection loaded with boldfaced lies about Robert Ehrlich deserves notice. We’d also include wussy deluxe disposed coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Wade Wilson, but his situation involves greater villains than his meager ineptness. We fear that if such a list is composed for 2011, we might have to report on some Republican members of the 111th Congress who might squander the rewards granted by the voters. We went light on the media because while folks like Joy Behar deserve inclusion, where would we stop chronicling a parade of losers?

Russian Adoption Tragedy: Message to Mother -- Kids Don't Come with Satisfaction Guaranteed Warranties -- YOU IDIOT!

What kind of weird reflection on the American psyche is the case of a Tennessee adoptive parent who sent her child back to Russia because she felt she could not control the child’s behavior?

Reality check: Parenting is the ULTIMATE responsibility. Even the most perfect children provide some mighty tough challenges. There are, of course, many children with special needs, some of which could involve behavioral issues. Such things don’t make these bad kids, but do require greater effort and more skill on the behalf of the parent.

The bottom line is one’s child, whether natural born or adopted, represents a profound responsibility for which the parent must accept until the child has completed his or her schooling and is ready for living independently which we generally accept as 18 years old in our culture.

With this in mind, the case of parent Torry Ann Hansen in Tennessee is most disturbing and the twists and turns of this case are even more bizarre. The mother, an east Tennessee resident, claims her adopted son, Artyom Savelyev renamed Justin, from Russia had been terrorizing her family since his arrival in the United States. Rather than attempt to work with any social services agency or seek help for the boy, she purchased a one way ticket from Tennessee to Russia and sent the kid all by himself back to Moscow with a note taped on his chest, “I no longer want to parent this child. He is violent and has severe psychopathic issues/behaviors.”

The seven year old boy was sent away with just a backpack with some cookies and a coloring book.

The Russians, outraged at this tragic occurrence, have threatened to end all adoptions between Russia and American parents. While the Russians are understandably upset, this event in no way reflects on the adoptive system in the United States or our government. There’s little anyone could do to stop a woman who executed her sickly plan on her own.

Thus an international episode now has bureaucrats in Washington scrambling to resolve with the State Department fully involved in the issue. While we could comment on the dysfunctional relationship between the United States and Russia and bemoan what a mess the Russian system is, we find this episode a very sick reflection on a mindset that manifests itself on many levels in today’s society. The episode is serious enough that a high level state department has been dispatched to Moscow to resolve.

A child is a human being, not a commodity. Adopting a child is not like ordering the latest book or gizmo from Amazon.com. Anyone seeking to adopt a child must do so with eyes wide open and realize there will be difficult challenges along the way. Children can get sick, get injured, have learning difficulties, or have behavioral issues. Kids don’t come with operating manuals or guarantees.

The arrangements she made for the child upon reaching Russia were transacted on the Internet for $200. Who the heck was she dealing with to receive this poor boy? Could that Russian entity have possibly been a pedophile or some other kind of deviant?

This sick woman had options through state child services and charitable foundations. The kid could have taken care of in any number of humane ways where he would hopefully get some proper attention.

Regardless of what the particular issues are with this kid or what behavioral problems he might exhibit, what Ms. Hansen did is a grotesque example of child endangerment and abuse.

We sincerely hope she will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We fear what is more likely is that she will make the afternoon talk show rounds selling her story while playing the roll of victim.

Torry Ann Hansen represents the worst of the “ME” generation that everything is all about her and that a child is simply an object that can be used a commodity to be transferred about as she sees fit.

The mother claims she was misled by the Russian adopted agency. Oh well, let buyer beware! She had the responsibility to investigate all aspects of the tremendous commitment she was undertaking. There’s no way out for Ms. Hansen. She screwed up and is responsible for her decisions.

One more question… was there a father in the picture? If not, why?

What a horrible slap this is against all those who adopt children responsibly and open their hearts and homes to give a misfortunate child a good life.

The Matthew Snyder Case: An American Tragedy

There simply are not words strong enough to express this writer’s outrage and total hatred of what the Westboro Baptist Church is all about. If any organization short of the Taliban reveals the face of pure evil, this disgusting assembly of hateful people under the direction of Fred Phelps and supported greatly through the efforts of his family. Phelps preaches of God the hater, a god who HATES homosexuals and considers other religions including Roman Catholics as devil worship. Any religious entity that does not actively condemn homosexuality is sending its membership to burn in hell. To get a better glimpse of what this hate group is all about, one can see them in their own words through a number of websites including godhatesfags.com and godhatesAmerica.com. They are especially harsh on Catholics, a “fag” church, they contend that one third of the Catholic clergy are gay and that priests are vampires or Draculas who suck the semen out of their parishioners calling the Pope the Godfather of Pedophiles. On their “Priests Rape Boys” website they’ve even posted, “Every time any person gives any amount of money to the Catholic Church, that person is paying the salary of pedophile rapists.”

Their treatment of Jews is pretty consistent with what might be expected not only promoting the time-honored bigotry toward Jews that they killed Jesus, but also that they help lead some of what they consider the worst efforts in American society. References to members of the Jewish faith are preceded by slurs like “bloody” or “evil.”

They also direct hatred toward ethnic groups singling out Italians for even more abuse as being “mobster breeding perverts” and “God REALLY HATES Italy.” Should anyone be surprised they also maintain a website “GodhatesIreland.com?”

These hateful rotten bastards challenge everything we hold as decent and dear as freedom loving Americans, but even more challenging, they face the ultimate gut check on those of us who value the First Amendment and its protection of freedom of Speech and Religion. Yes, even the Westboro Baptist Church has the right to express their obscene and vicious hatred. In how many other “tolerant” cultures would they be identified as a hate group and prosecuted for their actions?

This is where the real rub comes in, because they have chosen as their battlefront funerals for fallen servicemen as the front line for their public display of their hatred picketing funerals shouting and taunting the families of the fallen with protest signs, expressing “God hates fags,” “Your son deserved to die,” “God hates America,”

Something is stinking rotten in America. Every single one of us should be thankful for the first amendment realizing opening the door to some folks saying and printing things we find absolutely unthinkable and obscene. Still, even our most sacred freedoms have limits. Taunting families attending the funeral of a fallen family member is certainly one such instance. In the past, the court has abridged freedom of speech to certain restraints regarding, “time, place, and manner.” As such, it is reasonable that even if a burial ceremony is close to a public street, a safety zone should be able to be established. Here is a situation where the rights of the grieving family conflicts with those of these lunatics. There is a way to solve this problem without violating the first amendment no matter how much we legitimately hate all that the Westboro Sicko Church is all about.

Sadly, the case of the death of Marine Lance Corporeal Matthew Snyder of Finksburg, Maryland lead to one of the most hateful things one can imagine. Snyder was killed in an accident in Al Anbar province in Iraq in a non-combat vehicle accident on March 3, 2006. This young hero was twenty years old. A week later, as his funeral was held in nearby Westminster, Maryland the Westboro creeps arrived creating their vicious display of hatred and evil.

As if losing a precious son was not enough, the young Marine’s father, Albert Snyder pursued legal action in Federal Court in Baltimore, Maryland. Fred Phelps, the Westboro leader and his two daughters, Shirley Phelps-Roper and Rebecca Phelps-Davis were found liable of invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress in the amount of $10.9 million. In defiance, the Westboro thugs insisted they would never change their hate message. Not only did the Phelps sickos carry out the demonstration they also slurred the Snyder family on the Internet even taking a swipe at their Catholicism. The court would not pursue the Internet charges, but trial was held on the funeral disruption.
At the Baltimore Federal Court level, justice was served though the award was reduced to $5 million, but this story does not have a happy ending.

The Phelps hate clan appealed to the Fourth District Court of Appeal, not only did a three judge panel of Robert B. King, Dennis Shedd, and Allyson Duncan throw out the charges, they held Albert Snyder responsible for court costs and the Westboro Baptist Church’s legal fees. Mr. Snyder is responsible for paying the court $165,100, a heavy burden for a working class family man.

The next stop on this case will be the Supreme Court, and it is our hope that the Supreme Court sides on the side of decency and not a contrived ACLU kind of judgment. It would appear the typical 5-4 conservative leaning verdict should be in order. God help us if it is not.

In the meantime, many Americans are raising money to help the Snyder family with its legal defense. Television personality, Bill O’Reilly has offered to at least pay the court fees should that be required.

Right minded Americans must rally behind the Snyder family and insist on some measure of civility in our society. Some will find ways to put the screws to the Westboro haters as well, but let’s be clear, any action taken against them must never resort to tactics worse than the ones they employ.

They are the lowest form of scum in our society. Let’s make sure we keep it that way until the mess can be properly cleaned up and disposed of.

We don't question Sarah Palin's stance on most issues. We question her judgment, her ability to reason, her intellectual ability, emotional maturity, and ability to deal with nuances and subtle distinctions inherent in complex issues.

She's been on a tear again this past week, first hitting the campaign trail in Arizona to help John McCain's senatorial re-election bid. Then it was off to Nevada, Harry Reid's home town to serve as keynote speaker for a tea party gathering.

Her shrill recitation of talk-show conservative bumper sticker lines might serve well to stir up a crowd of blood thirsty citizens fearful of the state of the United States economy, angry about the seizure of the American medical system and how the Democratic party thrust it upon the country, and the ever increasing roll of the nanny state. While she might be able to recite the headlines, she can't tell the story. She can't provide any analytic or creative perspective. Everything is in slogan ready headline form, easily shouted to a crowd, but where's the rest?

Where's the rest for a person who is supposed to be a leader who does not complete choosing for nebulous reasons to resign?

Where's the maturity and sophistication differentiating between truly sick abuse and just the routine abuse a figure of his stature would endure from the "lame stream" media?

A true leader must walk the walk, talk the talk, and show some mature judgment. Examine the photo that accompanies this article and decide for yourself if this is anyway for a person who seeks to be respected and seen as something more than a simplistic rube from the wilderness of Alaska. Would anyone from a school's PTA President to a Corporate Executive to a television commentator get away dressed like a biker chick or a dominatrix?

Hell no! It's all about showing mature judgment? For a person who some champion for her "common" touch what seems so lacking in her whole presentation since we first met her late in the summer of 2008 is common sense.

The sooner Sarah Palin gets out of the way the better. For Americans who believe in limited government, a constitutional democracy, and cannot accept the quasi-socialist attempt to transform American society thrust upon us by the Obama Administration and Pelosi led House of Representatives, strong leadership with a mature logical voice is desperately needed. That voice is not the shrill whining of the former governor of Alaska.

Mike Leach: Go Away and SHUT UP!!!

Fired Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach

is just the kind of fellow who's so easy to dislike.

Mike Leach is a world class idiot. To hear his excuses and attempts to pass the blame for his conduct, forcing player, Adam James into isolated confinement in a shed after suffering a concussion reflects a kind of irresponsibility and a bully mentality that has no place from any kind of leader in American society much less scholastic football where building character is one of a coach’s most important responsibilities. If a coach deems a player is not putting forth sufficient effort, there are plenty of forceful acceptable ways to handle the situation, but what kind of discipline can be justified of any sort when a player had just suffered a head injury no matter how mild or what circumstances led to the injury. Sports fans would have to be living under a rock not to know that concussions are very serious business in today’s world as witnessed by how the NFL has recently stepped up its attention to be sure players are not forced to play or practice until they are cleared by responsible medical professionals to resume.

Reports indicate that James was injured during team practice on December 16th. He reported to practice the afternoon of December 17th after being treated by a doctor for his concussion not dressed for practice at which time Leach directed James to be confined in an equipment shed. Two days later, James returned to practice dressed appropriately and then was confined to a media interview room. Leach was reported to have launched a tirade of obscenities in scolding James on both occasions. James was told if he were to leave his confinement he would be kicked off the team.

When the episode was reported to University officials, they directed Leach to take appropriate measures to correct his behavior including apologizing to James. He refused. Initially Leach was suspended, but for his absolute insolence and lack of cooperation the University fired him.

For some it is noteworthy that Adam James is the son of Craig James, currently an ESPN commentator and former NFL player. Craig James was involved in seeking remedy for how his son was treated.

While the way Leach treated James was absolutely unacceptable by any measure, the university appeared to give him every opportunity to resolve the incident and make amends. Once dismissed, Leach’s statements reveal a personality and attitude reflecting total lack of character accepting no responsibility whatsoever for his behavior, viciously trashing the student athlete, and assailing Craig James as being a meddlesome parent using his status to throw his weight around to influence the school’s decision making. He went on to accuse James of demanding preferential treatment for his son and insists that the school fired him so they could escape continuing his contract which would have continued if he reported to work the following week.

Leach is no stranger to being in the hot seat for shooting off his mouth when earlier in the year assailed his players after losing to Texas A&M for “listening to their fat little girlfriends.”

He accused James of being “lazy” and having “a sense of entitlement” who’d fall back on having his father intervene on his behalf. Through the course of the interview Leach had harsh words for both Craig James and the university. He continued his inflammatory statements to other media outlets including the New York Times, again taking swipes at Craig James.

Meanwhile, James denied all special relationships with the university and refused to get embroiled in the controversy other than to point out what happened to his son.

Making matters worse for Leach are statements from others including the team’s trainer that denied the fired coach’s contentions.

Mike Leach is a world class moron on several accounts. First, his failure to take the matter of head injuries seriously and treating an injured player the way he did is an extremely grave matter. Coaches on all levels must put health concerns paramount above all else.

The contemptuous attitude, sarcasm, and mocking tone of Leach’s remarks about a college student on his team, the student’s father, and the school administration show a lack of self control and serious character lapses indicating he simply does not have the emotional makeup or character to be deserving of a leadership position.

Leach also presents a contemptible pseudo-tough guy image, a kind of distorted macho impulse that serves as a terrible example to the young men on his team not only in his comments from the Adam James incident but also statements like “fat little girl friends” from earlier in the year. While some bravado might be appropriate in the heat of battle, there is a kind of sickly chauvinism displayed here that should not be tolerated.

It’s sad to note that the university clearly wanted to give Leach a chance to make amends for his behavior and continue to serve as coach. Not only did Leach burn his bridges, he bombed the city to which the bridge led. It’s hard to imagine as such he’s likely to get a job coaching in a major football program again. However, in this competitive world, if some team sees hiring him as a coordinator or assistant coach, he could resurface again.

While we would generally mock the concept of sensitivity training, if there were ever a person for whom such a program would seem desirable, Mike Leach is the man. Unless and until he shows some contrition for his behavior, he deserves the banishment from sports he has forced upon himself.

2009 Horse's Ass Awards

We can't name them all because there were so many. This list is in no particular order aside from by the gravitas of the position alone, Barack Obama must be #1. We find folks from show biz, politics, the media, and sports all of whom have helped cheapen our culture in significant ways in 2009. We hope they will just go away and become obscure in 2010, but.....

Barack Obama’s lethal combination of faith in far left radical ideology, an astonishing lack of experience, being groomed in governing by the corrupt Chicago machine, and a hearty dose of extreme self-infatuation contribute to make Obama perhaps the most dangerous chief executive ever to reside in the White House. His desire to “transform” America amounts to essentially a pledge to grow government’s involvement in the private sector and each citizen’s life to an extent only known in totalitarian societies. We’ve seen a series of embarrassing blunders as the notorious background of some of his radical advisors became known. Other key figures most notably Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Chief, Janet Napolitano have signaled a shift in focus away from an all-out war on terror to a nuanced stance of appeasement. When one considers their initial phobia against using terms like “terrorism” and “terrorist” as witnessed by Napolitano calling a terrorist attack a “man caused disaster” and then substantial actions like the closing of the Guantanamo Bay Detention center and seeking to try the worst of the terrorists in civilian court, the reality of 9/11 escapes Obama’s grasp. As the real Barack Obama becomes known to the American people who are quickly seeing through his shallow façade, the public will come to terms with the fact that we are currently governed by a corrupt, incompetent left wing extremist who is perhaps the worst President in American history making Jimmy Carter look capable and equaling Richard Nixon for inability to deal with critics.

Let’s not forget about Obama’s irresponsible racist comments about how the Cambridge police behaved arresting one of his Harvard cronies leading to the so-called beer summit.

No one would ever accuse the aged, constipated looking, senate majority leader of being personable, but we have more substantial accusations. Senator Reid is one of the most thoroughly corrupt partisans to infect Capitol Hill leadership in a long time. His efforts to craft a government takeover of health care with such provisions as the buyouts for Louisiana and Nebraska to gain fence straddling senators’ votes is the tip of the iceberg of a thoroughly gutless immoral leader who will almost certainly lose his job when he stands for reelection next November.

Show some class and don’t call Nancy Pelosi a god-damned bitch. We should show more respect for female dogs who are loving creatures who bring joy and comfort to the human condition. When it comes to character, Pelosi occupies a spatial plane lower than snake excrement. For calling the CIA liars, for her blindly partisan leadership, and for her overall dishonesty and lack of any sign of human character, she stands out as one of the most hateful figures of 2009 and the entire decade. Perhaps she’s about all one could expect from San Francisco politics.

Her fifteen minutes of fame ran out a long time ago, but we can’t get rid of her. Now having published her own book, Going Rogue, Palin has invaded the media with her “aw shucks, by golly gotcha” superficial demeanor offering simplistic pseudo-conservative platitudes appealing to the most anti-intellectual impulses of her audience. Sarah Palin should use her undeserved fame to land a spot as a small market drive time talk show host or maybe find a late afternoon television spot with a pseudo-conservative version of “Oprah.” It’s hard to take someone with such limited experience who’d quit the one source of experience she has, the governorship of Alaska, seriously. We do regret some of the shameful smears that have been thrown at her by left wing idiots like David Letterman. However, Sarah Palin was not ready for prime time in the 2008 elections and has shown no evidence of intellectual growth since, by golly.

Glenn Beck’s presentation makes this writer shiver as one who generally fashions himself as a conservative advocate. Glenn Beck’s presentation is a disgraceful mess between his insane emotional outburst from mindless tirades to breaking into tears over some sentimental “where have the good times gone” sob stories. His critique of the left and the status quo over reaches making it sound like environmentalism and social justice are in and of themselves bad principles not the way they are carried out by the left wing. What makes Beck especially dangerous is that he makes a convenient whipping boy for the left who will quickly characterized mature and reasonable conservative values as sounding like the nonsense Glen Beck spews. His attempts to argue there is little difference between Democrats and Republicans is also grossly irresponsible. One cannot imagine “cap and trade” or socialized medicine coming from Republican leadership. That alone makes the two sides light years apart and for Beck not to recognize that shows the kind of flaming asshole he is.

Jeremy Mayfield flunked a drug test testing positive for meth, but he simply won’t go away quietly suggesting NASCAR has engaged in some big time conspiracy to push him out of the sport. His characterizations of how he has been treated and what goes on behind the scenes in NASCAR reflect a paranoid and delusional character. His days in a race car are over. He wouldn’t qualify for a job as a cab driver in Tijuana.

Mark Sanford, Governor: South Carolina
The story was he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail in “do not disturb” mode, but in fact he was getting frisky with his mistress in Argentina. After initial denial and fumbling the truth came out and that the governor was traveling on the people’s time and that his personal life was costing the taxpayers’ money, it was time to go. He has steadfastly refused to resign creating a furor among South Carolina Republicans.

When Jeffrey Immelt became head honcho of General Electric after Jack Welsh’s retirement in 2000, it was one of the most successful and respected companies in the world. Since that time, he has run the company into the ground to where its once valuable stock is practically of junk bond status now. Among his misdeeds, hiring left-wing ideologue, Jeff Zucker, to head its broadcasting division, NBC whose ratings have plummeted and its news coverage has drifted to the extreme far left often to embarrassing extremes. General Electric has illegally sold technology to Iran. Further, Immelt is an Obama insider seeking great corporate privilege for supporting Obama’s radical environmental policies.

We could write a book about this character’s misdeeds but we need only to focus on one. Taylor Swift was giving her acceptance speech for her VMA award. West took the microphone and complained that the award should have gone to Beyonce leaving Ms. Swift obscenely embarrassed though brushed off the abuse with class.

Giving a presentation with supporting printed poster board material, Grayson announced that Republicans “want you to die” and that their answer to health care is that people should “die quickly.” He also suggested that the current health care crisis was akin to the holocaust as well as launching numerous tirades against Republicans, his critics, and the Fox News Network. For such boorish and uncivil behavior one would expect censure, but in today’s world, he has been crowned an outspoken darling by the radical left and some of its supporters in the media.

Gates created an uproar when questioned by a well-respected police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, who was investigating what appeared to be a break-in at his residence. Rather than cooperating with the officer and diffusing an obvious misunderstanding, Gates turned on the officer, initiated a shouting match, while the officer maintained his professional demeanor accusing the officer of among other things, racial profiling. Unable to control his outbursts and not obeying the requests from the officer led to Gates arrest. Gates continued to insist that the police were racist when Crowley was noted for his work on dealing with effective race relations. The episode became highly inflammatory when President Barack Obama stated he didn’t know the facts but that the Cambridge Police acted “foolishly.”

Are you sick and disgusted? Whatever humanitarian contributions Mr. Vick has made recently through community service has been with the gun of what he was required to do for reinstatement against his head. He'd darned well better carry his weight in an acceptable manner after the unspeakable horrors he is responsible for committing. He will carry the burden of his misdeeds for the rest of his life, and the actions of one football season are only a token first step for what needs to be a lifetime commitment to doing the right thing.

The Philadelphia Eagles voted unanimously to honor disgraced dog-killer Michael Vick with this year’s nomination for the venerated Ed Block courage award for reasons simply faint and half-assed in light of the unspeakable horrors Mr. Vick is responsible for inflicting on helpless dogs. That one should make efforts to do the right thing in light of one of the most despicable examples of depraved and immoral human conduct is simply not the kind of thing for which one should ever receive an award. It’s simply the right thing to do.

We know what Michael Vick has done. For what he has done, any attempts to praise him should force those considering doing so to withhold judgment until he has much more experience in his attempts to perform appropriate deeds to show he has completely accepted the horrors he unleashed.

His comments upon being informed of the award show grotesque insensitivity and the kind of extreme hubris that was probably a part of his character in the first place that would have enabled him to act so cruelly in the first place.

"It means a great deal to me, I was voted unanimously by my teammates. They know what I've been through. I've been through a lot. It's been great to come back and have an opportunity to play and be with a great group of guys. I'm just ecstatic about that and I enjoy every day."
"I've overcome a lot, more than probably one single individual can handle or bear, You ask certain people to walk through my shoes, they probably couldn't do. Probably 95 percent of the people in this world because nobody had to endure what I've been through, situations I've been put in, situations I put myself in and decisions I have made, whether they have been good or bad.
"There's always consequences behind certain things and repercussions behind them, too. And then you have to wake up every day and face the world, whether they perceive you in the right perspective, it's a totally different outlook on you. You have to be strong, believe in yourself, be optimistic. That's what I've been able to do. That's what I display."

Can anyone see the theme of Vick as victim in these remarks? While reciting the kinds of clichés some would expect in a situation like his, there is so much self-pity and rationalization that shows this writer he just doesn’t get it, and apparently the Philadelphia Eagles don’t either.
The Ed Block Courage Awards are awarded each year in Baltimore, Maryland to one player from each NFL team as part of a campaign to raise awareness on the evils of child abuse. Though the Christmas holiday represents a time for reflection and forgiveness, Michael Vick has a long way to go before he can ever be given credit for rehabilitating a shameful reputation for his horrible behavior. North Korea: The Roach That Roars Like a Lion

What is more dangerous than having a mad man as a head of state? Surveying the world right now, it’s difficult to find any leaders particularly praise worthy, but some are serious like Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; however, perhaps one alone exceeds their madness, Kim Jung Il.

The world became a more dangerous place in recent days as North Korea tested a second, more powerful nuclear bomb and began a series of missile tests. Soon, any nation within their rockets’ range will be in peril. Further, would keeping nuclear technology a secret be in Il’s value system? Hardly, his weapons displays seem to be marketing presentations for future buyers.

On this grand scale, the world has work to do to contain Il’s treachery, and it will take much more than just more nasty letters from the impotent United Nations. However, Il’s madness extends to smaller levels that reveal pure wickedness.

The world should unite in outrage for his taking two American journalists hostage, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, forcing them to stand before a North Korean magistrate on trumped up charges, and then sentencing them to twelve years in a forced labor camp.

The reporters were taken hostage by North Korean soldiers patrolling along the Chinese border. Though North Korea offers little on what their rationale is for holding these two Americans, they indicated the ladies were guilty of trespassing and committing a grave crime. The North Korean communist dictatorship held a five day “trial” in Pyongyang.

Make no mistake about it, this case cannot be taken in isolation. It is one of a series of provocative moves by the North Korean government which in addition to the weapons displays includes harassing boats in international waters and sending a trawler into South Korean territorial waters.

What the end game Kim Jung Il and his thugs have in mind is difficult to calculate. Is it a shakedown game to extract bounty from the west? Is it a slick move to attempt to see how far the oppressive dictatorship can press the civilized world without suffering tangible consequences? Is it flexing its muscles to attract interest of the other criminal regimes and outlaw factions in the world with anti-western agendas as possible customers for its weapons? The infamous Scud missiles Saddam Hussein launched during the first Gulf War, Desert Storm, were of North Korean origin. On going dialog between the highest levels of the North Korean government and Iran are ominous signs of what could lie ahead.

The world must deal with North Korea forcefully and concede nothing. Sadly, how much real clout does the west have short of all-out war which regardless of the eventual outcome could prove catastrophic for South Korea, whose capital city, Seoul is less than 50 miles from the demarcation line separating the two nations. The potential harm to the population of the south and even Japan such across the Sea of Japan, the North Koreans have the means to cause tremendous harm regardless of what the obvious outcome would be for their fate.

The answer rests in Beijing where the Communist Chinese hold all the cards. It is through their support providing food and fuel to the North Korean dictatorship that this atrocity is able to continue in the first place. The country is starving to death thanks to the insensitivity and isolation of its government whose wicked behavior has locked it out from the world at large.

The response by the Clinton and Bush administration lacked urgency and a sense of punch, now the Obama administration seems even more prepared to allow the United Nations to write nasty letters easily ignored to Kim Jung Il. Further, by running up the national debt with China one of the largest customers for U.S. debt, our country has lost any bargaining with the communist government being literally indebted to them to the tune of billions of dollars.

While the fate of these two enterprising American reporters is an intolerable atrocity no rational person can tolerate, the fate of just two Americans might be tiny compared to the horrors that lie ahead. The surest thing in the world is how dictatorships react to signs of weakness and waffling. We don’t think the Obama administration understands this basic truth of world politics based on its behavior so far.

That Immelt is an advocate of the insidious “cap and trade” energy tax will be hailed as the ultimate of corporate responsibility, a visionary who sees the long term benefit of a program so costly in the short run.

Baloney!!! General Electric, who does a monstrous amount of business with the Federal Government, stands to make billions in new technologies they already have a leg up on. Further, Immelt’s support of Federalized medical care is also a huge benefit to GE. One component, that we strongly support, electronic patient records IF PROPER SAFEGUARDS ARE TAKEN, requires an infrastructure so huge few companies can bid on such a product. General Electric is working to get the inside track on that business which would amount to huge income for the company.

It is very disturbing that a company that wields so much power can use its presence in the news media through its subsidiary NBC-Universal to provide what would appear to be impartial news stories that provide the rationale for huge taxpayer investments in General Electric products. Whether it’s examining the health care system in such a way to favor solutions favorable to General Electric or coloring its reportage on the environment to similar ends, viewers watching NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC could be duped into reaching false conclusions crafted by a huge corporate propaganda machine.

While the leftwing bias of these NBC news outlets is bad enough, for them to be pseudo news for corporate advantage is far more costly.

Michael Vick will get out of jail this week, but is he ready to seek employment with the NFL?

Our answer is an emphatic, NO!. While he has paid his price in society’s eyes serving the time he was sentenced, the next move is the NFL’s. He should now be dealt with by the league for conduct detrimental to football and face an appropriate suspension determined by the commissioner which we would suggest should be two years.

From there, he’s an unrestricted free agent, and it’s up to the thirty two NFL franchises to weigh whether his potential athletic ability after a long layoff is worth the certain public relations nightmare a team would face with his baggage. In some cities, signing Vick would be organizational suicide. Somehow, why does Oakland, the silver and black, look like a possible destination? Perhaps because Al Davis is the kind of character he is, and he’s certainly welcomed some pretty shady characters in the past.

Make no mistake about it. Michael Vick will be vilified on every road game his future team plays. Not only will the reaction in the stands be brutal, but there could surely be demonstrations outside each venue he visits for the first time.

His crime was not only something of a serious criminal nature, but the pure savage cruelty against creatures for whom people dedicate so much affection is almost impossible to forgive and forget.

We can see the ESPN gang covering his back with all kinds of focus on his playing ability and maybe even some soft interviews to attempt to create an image makeover. Surely Vick will have publicists trying to get cozy interviews with the right celebrity interviewers who will toss up softballs that will let him seem like a mere victim of circumstances.

We will never forget. As dog lovers, forgiveness will be next to impossible. How Vick lives his life from here is all important. Any attempt to make excuses or minimize his sins will not be tolerated.

Reality Check on the So-Called Torture Debate

One on the loose, two others still at "Gitmo" all threats to American safety.

As the debate on interrogation degenerates into a highly partisan, mean-spirited witch hunt, the American people must consider the context from which this debate emerged and the issues at stake that required the most forceful interrogation possible. The more the public understands what was at stake, the more the current grandstanding, ranting and raving by members of the Democratic party will not only seem like a vicious attempt to mischaracterize the Bush administration, and by extension, the Republican party, but also attacks the entire intelligence gathering and defense operations undertaken in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorists attacks on the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

The procedure which is creating the most uproar is called waterboarding. A subject is restrained with his/her head inclined downward, then water is poured over the subject’s mouth and nasal passages creating the sensation of suffocation and drowning. Because the subject’s head is directed downward and water does not drain into the lungs itself, it causes no physical harm to the subject. The gagging reaction is reflexive almost impossible for the subject to control. The procedure causes no physical damage whatsoever, but it is, unquestionably, extremely horrifying triggering the body’s defenses as if it were on the verge of death.

While the procedure is difficult to endure, news reporters including a representative from Fox news voluntarily underwent the procedure to be able to explain their experience. Further, some of our nation’s most elite special forces undergo the procedure as part of their toughening preparation in their survival training.

The debate as to whether this constitutes torture is certainly legitimate. In the context of a “lasting harm” argument, there’s no way waterboarding could be considered torture. That is creates intense distress is likewise undeniable. Thus the debate first revolves around whether the procedure constitutes torture. The prevailing view among the Democratic party, the news media, and many Republicans considers that it is torture or at least cruel and extreme. The other part of the debate centers on given the terrorist figures on whom these methods were employed, given the intelligence they possessed, how timely it was, and the threat to all Americans they could possibly reveal, how far can our interrogators go to extract such intelligence knowing they might have inside knowledge of future terrorist attacks and their understanding of America’s weaknesses that terrorists can exploit.

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed was the highest level terrorist waterboarded. Mohammed was Osama Bin Ladin’s top strategic operative who was responsible for devising, preparing, staging, and directing the September 11, 2001 attacks. Additionally, he had knowledge of other operations under way which included destroying the Brooklyn Bridge in New York and staging a second phase of the 9/11 style attacks on Los Angeles.

The American people need to consider what was at stake. Of what value was that intelligence? How many more American citizens’ lives were threatened? If that is the case, possibly hundreds or thousands of lives, how much pressure is justified against a person responsible for such potential atrocities who already played a critical roll in over 3,000 deaths in the original attacks?

Terrorist captives Abu Zubayda and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri were also reported to have been waterboarded. Abu Subayda served as a senior Bin Ladin official the United States had been following at least as early as 1999 during the Clinton administration. He played a key role in the east African embassy bombings and had plans in various states of development to attack U.S. and Israeli targets in Jordan. He is also implicated in a plot to blowup the international airport in Los Angeles. Zubayda was shown to be the ultimate Al Qaeda insider with knowledge and involvement of the full reach of the terrorist’s organizations schemes.

Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri is most noted for his role staging the attack on the USS Cole in the port of Yemen. He was involved in the planning and staging of numerous Al Qaeda plots.

As the so called “torture” debate explodes into a mad frenzy in Washington and across the news media specifically aimed at prosecuting the Bush administration for the actions it undertook and the means by which they determined such actions as legal and justified, what is lost in the discussion is any sense of context and urgency.

That the United States was caught unprepared and uniformed about the extent of Bin Ladin’s terrorist campaigns through Al Qaeda resulting in the September 11th attacks after the attack on the USS Cole and the African embassy bombings would be an obvious understatement. Given that such horrific attacks occurred within the United States itself provided the highest sense of urgency of any threat to the United States eclipsing the entire Cold War and only possibly being reviled by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December, 1941, the President was charged with the awesome responsibility to use the full weight of American power to protect the safety of all Americans and their vital interests.

In this context having just been attacked and responsible for ensuring no future attacks, the President, his defense, legal, and intelligence experts had to act with the absolute highest sense of urgency to secure our country’s safety. The prevailing mindset of the administration was stop at nothing to get the job done. President Bush would dedicate his administration to quickly and forcefully getting the job done on all levels.

How can the integrity and judgment of President George W. Bush be so viciously assailed and even criminalized in the eyes of his critics in the media and Democratic party? Can anyone possibly argue that the President did not act in good faith and was not attempting to use his position to lead the nation’s efforts to protect every single one of us?

In hindsight, one can critic the effectiveness and validity of what the Bush administration accomplished; however, the attempts to vilify the President and his top officials for such agenda driven political considerations is simply contemptuous, unpatriotic, wicked, and blind.

Through the prism of hindsight always being 20/20, some aspects of the Bush administration’s response were off target; however, did anyone including some of the Democrats who are the most vocal critics of the President, have any reason to doubt, for instance, the intelligence about weapons of mass destruction that served as a major factor for going to war against Iraq? That intelligence was verified as valid from multiple sources from both American and international sources. The necessity of going to war in Iraq is certainly the most off target response the administration launched in the whole scenario, but make no mistake about it. The behavior of Saddam Hussein was extremely provocative and dangerous whether it was attacking US and British planes patrolling the “no fly” zone established by international treaties, the systematic torture and murder of Iraqi citizens, and the vicious brutalization and oppression of Kurdish and Shiite citizens in Iraq. Hussein’s overt and clandestine activities including specific materials procured were all consistent of following the steps toward building nuclear weapons. Hussein had already used chemical weapons against enemy factions within Iraq and against Iranians when the country was at war with Iran. Even if the weapons of mass destruction were not found as presumed, at what point does the world community intervene when a murderous dictator is committing so many vicious acts against humanity?

The interrogation of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and other murderous Al Qaeda thugs is very different matter. Can anyone possibly deny that the intelligence obtained might very well have saved thousands of American lives? To that end, where does the pursuit of intelligence end for other concerns? What actions are too severe to not be considered with our lives as American citizens in the balance?

As the conduct of the Bush administration is considered with all factors on the table, the “enhanced” interrogation methods were not taken lightly, were not applied in an arbitrary and capricious manner, and were only carried out with the highest level approval with all methods carefully prescribed, supervised, and monitored including having medical professionals at hand during the process.

Over time, more documentation will become more widely distributed of other methods used to taunt captured terrorists into surrendering their knowledge of their operation. Of what has been published so far, none of the methods rise above bullying and rough housing, most of them are what could best be described as annoying the subjects into submission but torture?

The leftist position of defining torture when applied by a Republican administration appears to be anything from raising one’s voice or greater. In other words, anything those under President Bush’s direction that exceeded, “Hello Mr. Mohammed, sir. Could you please tell us if there is anything we might be interested in knowing about that could involve terrorists’ attacks?” Some might consider even that would be going too far as he should be read his rights first and given the opportunity to “lawyer up.” This of course ignores that matters of domestic law enforcement and the application of the Constitution applies to American citizens living within the United States. War is a totally different scenario as is the urgency of obtaining the best knowledge possible on the situation at hand.

We accept the debate on whether waterboarding is torture is legitimate. We also must make perfectly clear the extent to which the Bush administration involved all appropriate officials including Democrats on Capitol Hill on what methods were under consideration. There was no outcry or open attempts to contest the decisions President Bush pursued in late 2001 and throughout 2002 as these issues were red hot. Even some of the Pentagon’s and intelligence service’s greatest critics accepted the gravity of the situation at hand.

While there are legitimate values consideration at stake, the attempts to vilify President Bush and his administration’s efforts that were successful in keeping the United States and American targets overseas free of attack for the entire duration of his administration after 9/11 must be seen as crass, vicious, dishonest, political opportunism especially when figures like Nancy Pelosi were directly in contact with the most intimate intelligence as the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee grandstand with after the fact of measures they consented to when the issue was red hot.

The news media is doing a horrible job of providing context for all issues involved in performing “enhanced interrogation” and establishing what various officials’ stance was then and now. Once again, the media is failing miserably to do its job and is acting in a biased, partisan manner in support of the most extreme and vocal advocates of the political agenda they seek to advance.

One question that has been posed again and again in the so-called torture debate, “If the officials had detained someone who had raped or murdered you’re a member of your family or had knowledge of plans to harm more members of your family, what would you considered justified?” President Bush had to consider the fate of 300 million Americans. What is the moral imperative when he is charged as the elected leader and commander-in-chief to provide for those citizens’ safety and security. President Bush and no one else had the luxury of time to debate all the philosophical and moral values involved in an immediate, urgent situation with lives in the balance. To that end we applaud President Bush and damn his critics in the most powerful terms available.

The conduct of Nancy Pelosi among others is inauthentic, dishonest, self-serving, and dangerous. It borders on treason. These adversaries to our nation’s safety must be held accountable and cannot go unchallenged.

Who's looking out for us? What elected leaders are truly focused on those forces which threatened our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness? It's time for a wake up call, NOW!!!
