The American Flag and the Rules: Fox News Distortion

What’s so terrible about flying the American flag? Nothing, unless someone displays a flag on property where he or she signed an agreement that prohibited doing so.  The story is told again and again. It appears every time there is an instant where a private citizen is facing consequences for flying an American Flag, the Fox News network will sniff out the story and attempt to gin up a sense of outrage that private citizens are being prohibited their right to express their patriotism as if the First Amendment to the Constitution itself is under attack. They’ll trot out distinguish awarded World War Two veterans, purple heart recipients, and other sympathetic characters all of whom have a common refrain that they have sacrificed for their country, and they should be allowed to honor the country for whom they’ve sacrificed.

Hold back on the sympathy and outrage.  In every case, the person protesting flag flying restrictions had either signed a lease or a neighborhood association agreement which indicated what they were doing was restricted. As such, the true outrage is not the outrage for not being allowed to fly the flag but instead anger at getting caught.

When properly displayed, the American flag is source of pride and inspiration to those who appreciate the gifts of American citizenship; however, location is everything. Some cases have involved the display of ghastly large flags as if the bigger the flag is, the more patriotic the intent of the person who displayed it. Some are so large to be tacky and disrespectful.

While there are plenty instances of citizens being unfairly prohibited from flying the American Flag or expressing their religion in public, where people have signed contracts where they have agreed to certain restrictions, ignorance of the agreement is no excuse for non-compliance. There is no ground for real sympathy. Their only course of action is to petition to have the regulations changed.

That Fox News continues to make these episodes hard news sympathetic to those attempting to fly American flags contrary to regulations is hardly fair and balanced reporting. It is advocacy journalism reported on the basis of a false premise. Such reportage doesn’t to anybody any good. It only stirs up emotions on nebulous grounds. If that’s a ploy to hype up ratings shame on them.

Here's an article from Fox News' website that makes our point:

Glenn Beck is GONE!!!

The world is a better place because the scary little man, Glenn Beck has completed his last broadcast as radio stations increasingly drop him from their programming. Take your paranoid pills and follow the twisted little leader who will certainly have some choice words about his exit. He's careful not to bad mouth Fox, but he's at it again stirring up the spooky forces of evil and that it's just a matter of time before the whole thing blows up.

Broadcasting hit a new kind of low, though certainly his show is no worse than some of the sickly fare on MTV or something like Jesse Ventura's sick conspiracy theories.

What a sick specticle the Glenn Beck show WAS. A fellow who in almost every way, shape, and form is a BORN LOSER, a pathetic journeyman radio flop, and washed up drunk, who sobbered up and realized exploiting peoples' fears and prejudices might be his ticket to success. Every night at six, we were treated with this little pompous ignorant ass lecturing us on how the whole world's heading down the crapper led by radical leaders like van Jones, financed by "Spooky Dude," George Soror whose evil boogie men are in the process.  He implored his viewers should study history and the Constitution while misrepresenting both, twisting little things out of context to support his warped prophecies of doom.

Yes, Glennn, we did pick on you. It was our patriotic duty to stomp on a little shit like you. Now Fox News has to attempt to redefine itself to make your crap a distant memory. We do not wish you well. Please, just shut up and get lost.

Huckabee Reveals Beck for Being the Dishonest Fear Monger He Is

We congratulate former Arkansas Governor/current Fox TV host, Mike Huckabee for shooting down Glenn Beck for his divisive slander, personal attacks, and shooting off his mouth with no regard for consequences.

As we have documented many times before and what would be obvious to any mature person with the slightest bit of psychological insight, Glenn Beck is a psychologically unstable madman who dabbles in political commentary as an outlet for his deep seated paranoia, delusional hallucinations, grandiose conspiracy theories, and mad ranting and tantrums. That he is also conspicuously engaged in self-serving corruption is also clearly obvious that his show is sponsored by gold vendors and his program constantly attempts to create tremendous fear in the stability of the US dollar while extolling the virtue of investing in gold.

Glenn Beck has no credentials to speak authoritatively on the issues he speaks as the ultimate expert on his program. He is nothing more than a washed up radio hack with deep seated personality defects intensified by years of drug and alcohol abuse who bounced around from radio station to radio station alienating his fellow broadcasters in the process. Finally, he hit pay dirt with the rise of conservative talk radio which has its own lunatic fringe of shock jocks, fear mongers who feed upon listeners’ fears and insecurities seeing all issues in extreme black and white terms with boogie men lurking behind every conceivable threat whether the threat is real, exaggerated, or contrived.

In Beck’s world all is reduced to a grandiose apocalyptic struggle between good and evil. Good is those who embrace his self-righteous religiosity who believe the world is on the brink and that only some kind of despotism based on extremist interpretations of what the “founders” ideals were but to say that Beck reports what the Constitution actually says or interprets it rationally is false. Further, the founders are presented as deities not historical political figures who are above debate. Conversely, all evil in the world is part of an integrated progressive plot which embraces big government Democratic Party ideology, the labor movement, socialism, communism, radical Islam, and anyone else to whom the label “progressive” can be affixed. Any sense of context, nuance, or shades of gray cannot exist – everything is right or wrong, progressive or justified, you’re with us or you’re an enemy.

Mike Huckabee on the other hand, might have some limitations that would make him an unworthy Presidential candidate grounded mainly in his literal evangelical belief in The Bible – that the world was literally created in six days and that evolution bears no validity is simply not intellectually defensible. That not withstanding, Mike Huckabee is thoughtful and fair to a fault. Mike Huckabee is absolutely conservative – morally, economically, and socially. However, he is also one who seeks consensus and exhibits a strong sense of pragmatism. In Huckabee’s world, people are seldom all good, or all bad. We look at their stance on issues and take it from there. Above all else, Mike Huckabee has a strong sense of decency and civility.

Let’s be real, unless a person is left of center, there’s not much to like about the Obama’s, but the responsible track is to take them on focused on the issues not shredding them on personal grounds. Calling them bogeymen and progressives doesn’t in and of itself make them wicked. Michelle Obama’s big crusade is fighting juvenile obesity. Many of her ideas have merit. There is no suggestion that there should be huge government programs, regulation, or spending initiatives to solve the problem, but the very thought that her suggestions are seeking to have people change their behavior and that parents re-evaluate certain decisions they make in supervising their children to extremists like Beck go far over the line. Public schools absolutely SHOULD teach children about nutrition. School lunches should provide a good balanced meal that kids will eat. Of course, there’s no denying that schools jump of the deep end eliminating ALL sweets and other foods that are not politically correct by the diet police. Yes, some schools are even going as far as to not allow parents to send lunches from home for their kids or they must comply with what the school judges acceptable is wrong. Some of the attacks on the fast food industry like outlawing toys and trinkets in “happy meals” are wrong. There is nothing wrong with Michelle Obama encouraging parents to be more conscientious feeding their children or that they should get more exercise and spend less time in sedentary pursuits playing electronic games and watching television.

Mike Huckabee thinks dealing with juvenile obesity is a good idea and praised Michelle Obama for raising awareness of the issue. Huckabee ought to know given his struggle and eventual success dealing with obesity. For all the issues on which Huckabee is a strict conservative that he endorsed in general terms just one thing from Obama Nation got him blasted by the frothing fruitcake who promptly kicked Huckabee off the good guys team and now he’s a fighter for (GULP) the progressives. Beck stated, (Huckabee) “is the perfect progressive candidate for the Republican Party.”

Time out: remember both Beck and Huckabee have programs on Fox News.

Mike Huckabee BLASTED Beck for his criticism indicating the “inept” talk show barker’s remarks “blew up in his face.” His response not only defends his concern for childhood obesity brilliantly, but he also clobbers Beck showing that he, Mike Huckabee, clearly understands Beck’s treachery.

Here’s Huckabee’s response. http://www.huckpac.com/?Fuseaction=Blogs.View&Blog_id=3450

Needless to say, Beck went ballistic that Huckabee would challenge him and cranked up his paranoia Wizard of Oz machine to further distort the issues, play the pity angle on how everybody’s picking on poor Glenn Beck, things are far worse than they seem, double-talk galore, and a lot of the usual Beck insults. However, Beck went on to attempt to prove Huckabee is a dangerous progressive through and through pointing out he raised taxes in Arkansas, true, but the governor or Arkansas is required to do so by law, a little inconvenience that Beck’s spin ignored. He also cited Huckabee’s huge spending increases – partially true BUT he was required to do so under court order. Name calling, ranting and raving, and half baked half truths – that’s Glenn beck.

Beck went further taking things out of context, a great technique he and other demagogues like Alex Jones use to smear their adversaries, blasting Huckabee on Beck’s website quoting Huckabee discussing raising taxes, one of the proposals being raising tobacco taxes – a quite acceptable tax increase to deal with a budget shortfall. Huckabee did what he had to do by law but also did much to straighten out economic issues in Arkansas and business flourished. There’s always a rest of the story every time the scary little man tries to quote someone else.

Mike Huckabee is a man of true faith and humanitarian intent. Glenn Beck’s religiosity is one more symptom of his overall sickness.

By the way, RMF proudly clobbered Beck’s feeble defense on his website.

THIS JUST IN: Glenn Beck accuses Donald Trump of being a conspiracy theorist. As the children say, “It takes one to know one.” Further, Trump, rightfully, asserted there is far too much attention being devoted to George Soros. For that, Beck accused Trump and Soros must be connected somehow. His evidence – oh this is awful, they both attended the same social function in New York.

Beck’s TV program will be gone soon, but in the meantime, he seems hell bent on setting his fear and paranoia machine to overload. We wish him all the worst where ever he winds up – hopefully on a long term confinement in a mental hospital.

Glenn Beck -- Show Cancelled

Finally, the little turd will be going goodbye and when that day comes, it won't come a day too soon.  Has anyone ever seen such a thoroughly rotten human being, a person with such obvious serious personality defects, possibly mental illness or at least the product of a life of terrible decision making -- drugs, alcohol, and some sense that he's now on some kind of message from God. Looking for any redeeming qualities for the scary little man are hard to find unless one appreciates he provides an outlet for the video sellers to market, "Little Darling"  the works of Shirley Temple and a bunch of gold merchants including one fronted by J. Gordon Liddy.

As if he's not creepy enough, he has his camera guy pan in unbelievably up close so the rotten creep is right in your face. Beck's such a true asshole, there's just something about him that would make even a gentleman want to take Beck's glasses, stick them in his mouth, and then pound him with a powerful upper cut to the jaw. He wears the "hit me" sign well.

Every day it's the same old stuff -- something terrible is about to happen any day now. All the bad guys from radical Islam to socialists, communists, labor unions are all in cahoots together waiting for the right moment which might have already happened. George Soros is the arch villain who Beck makes look capable of simply using his wealth to buy the world and somehow a little shit of a black communist radical, Van Jones, who was known only to the extreme left academic elite circles were it not for Barack Obama appointing him Green Czar, is some highly powerful leader of a communist insurrection. Well, George Soros is a big danger, but the paranoid rantings of talk show nuts like Beck enhance his notoriety far more than Soros deserves.  Van Jones is a would be nobody, but thanks to Beck harping on him on a nightly basis has now made Jones a far bigger phenomenon that he ever could have dreamt of being without Beck.

Beck has almost single handedly destroyed the credibility of Fox News. Always under attack for presenting the conservative viewpoint, Beck provides Fox's critics a "see there...see this is what they're all about."  For all the quality people like Brit Hume, Chris Wallace, John Roberts, Carl Cameron, and Catherine Herridge among others are all top rate pros of the highest standard, but when one appears in a segment on Beck's trash show, they are at least complicit in supporting whatever the topic du jour is. Beck is a master of taking things out of context and twisting them into supporting his warped notions.

So in his departure, we wish him nothing but the worst and hope he will be held to account for everything he's distorted, misrepresented, or created irrational fear about. May the people he's misrepresented and lied about get their pound of flesh as worthy justice is always a good thing.

This is a sick man who has no place on mature media. Here's hoping the remaining radio stations who carry him see the wisdom of pulling the plug.

Meanwhile, Fox has a real mission ahead of them to restore their credibility and distance themselves as far from this surly little cretin as they possibly can.

Geraldo -- Live from Libya

Oh boy! Who wouldn't have seen this coming. Geraldo Rivera has taken his roll as "senior war correspondent" to travel to Libya and imbed with the Libyan "who the heck are they, really?" rebels while under direct gun fire pressumably Momar Gadafhi's thugs. It might be hard to describe somebody dancing around dodging flying bullets as being over-dramatic -- let's just say it's "vintage Geraldo."  Nevertheless, through it all, he attempts to opine to the maximum extent possible editorializing far more than reporting. He's inviting his audience to ask questions through Fox News HQ via Twitter.

Somehow, it seemed like an act of Divine justice the last time he was reporting from the Gulf Coast during an approaching hurricane and getting clobbered by wave while yapping on camera. The romanticizing Latinos can do no wrong is, if nothing else, quite a showman (or showboat).

Fear Mongering in the First Degree

Well, well, well, believe this scare monger, and Al Qeada has it's dude working in the Pentagon!  The Japanese radiation is here and killing us. This is Alex Jones and his wicked paranoia demogoguery. These guys are quick to say they are being taken out of context, but no one like Alex Jones and his wimpy shadow Glenn Beck live off of doing the same. So here he is, direct from his own show. We need all rational thinking Americans, progressives and conservatives alike to flood the radio stations who serve as a conduit for this sickness to get rid of this hateful liar immediately.  See for yourself. This is his daily fare. Even Glenn Beck doesn't come close to this level of retchedness.

We will continue to monitor those who lure conservatives off course and demonstrate their dangerous hate rhetoric.

Nukes, Japan, Talk Radio, and Reality

The situation regarding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants is extremely serious if you're Japanese. Efforts to get the damage caused by the recent Tsunami under control is not succeeding, and at least one worst case scenario is realistically possible. The #3 reactor, the most dangerous of the three since it is driven by Plutonium as its fuel source is also the most damaged. Nothing attempted so far has manged to cool the reactor to safe levels. The core appears to be leaking. Radiation emissions have reached a much higher, more critical level. While few will say it directly, a meltdown looks quite possible. How that would affect the other three reactors with various degrees of damage too is hard to determine.

What won't happen is that any of these reactors could explode like a nuclear bomb explosion. What could happen would be environmental and atmospheric exposure to extremely dangerous radiation. Still, there is no evidence the reactor would explode wide open like the 1986 Ukrainian Chernobyl disaster from the Soviet Union. Currently, adding to the overall scare is reportage that "millions" died from cancer suggesting Chernobyl was the cause. This is not true, but the death toll was significant. 336,000 people were relocated to uncontaminated land. Territory in the Ukraine and Belarus remain contaminated today. 31 people were killed directly from the Chernobyl explosion, but the radiation deaths are harder to determine. Of the many cancer deaths over the likely geographic area, how many were truly caused by this disaster?

The World Health Organization reports 50 deaths as of 2005 appear certain and the overall toll over time could reach 4,000. Greenpeace, an activist environmental group believes the death toll could reach 200,000. Where are the millions that scare monger talk radio hosts suggest?

We report this neither to minimize Japan's emergency or use Chernobyl as the big scare. Chernobyl is the one fatal nuclear disaster so far. Three Mile Island suffered a complete core meltdown, but there was not one death. Fukushima Daiichi will be worse than Three Mile Island. Predictions are just that and we do not know what the end of this story will be.

Worst case scenario is a lot of precious land could be ruined rendered unusable for countless generations. How much radiation reaches fatal levels and how many people will be exposed is not possible to be calculated yet. What is for certain, residents in the United States have absolutely NOTHING to fear. Might Geiger counters make a little more noise -- yes. Is that indicating a danger -- no. We are exposed to radiation sources daily, and x-rays, CAT scans and MRI's subject us to higher levels. We exposed ourselves to radiation for years with CRT tube televisions and computer monitors. Plasma TV's emit radiation too.

No matter what happens in Japan, there will not be enough radiation crossing the Pacific Ocean to hurt even Hawaii.

So how should society deal with those who use the public airwaves to misinform us, scare us over insane speculations, lie about how the government is dealing with the disaster, and suggest us to do irresponsible things like taking prophylactic doses of Iodine supplements?

Fear mongering on the Japanese reactor problem is all over the Internet, but few are more conspicuous than the mastermind behind infowars.com and prisonplanet.com, Alex Jones. Early, Jones boasted to his audience and on video, that he has obtained a huge quantity of iodine capsules so his people will be safe. Now today, in his absence, his substitute host cranks up the paranoia machine even to a higher degree. This makes Glenn Beck look rational.

We present this to show the kind of nonsense that's fueling the fear. That any radio station licensed to serve the public good would broadcast such nonsense is appalling. This is Paul Wilson filling in for Alex Jones. The insane paranoid conspiratorial message is the same.

If this program is broadcast in your community, you must write, email, or call station management and tell them what you think of such irresponsible programming. To the extent that listeners might believe such outrageous spin becomes the station's responsibility for allowing it to be broadcast.

We must demand better of the broadcasting industry in our country. While individuals' freedom of speech allows them to lie and scream "the sky is falling" this does not mean broadcasters can continue to provide outlets for serial liars, vicious demagogues, and filthy fear mongers.

Please join us in demanding responsible (regardless of political stance) broadcasting. This cannot stand.

Japanese Nuke Disaster: Soon We'll All Be Dead or Mutants

Two of broadcasting's worst nightmares -- FEAR FOR FREE!!!

"Never let a good disaster go to waste." We remember that as Rahm Imanuel's creed when he served as Barack Obama's Chief of Staff as how to take emotionally charged issues and use them to rush through ridiculous overreaching laws and policies. The same holds true for fire breathing talk show hosts who feed on the publics' fear and mistrust to pump up their audience ratings.

The Japanese nuclear disaster very well could be worse than reported and the worst could be yet to come, but there is NO scenario that would create harm for the United States. Yes, radiation detectors will make little blips. Some particles will cross the ocean and possibly circle the globe, but SO WHAT?

We expose ourselves to more radiation than we ever realize. Maybe it's those arches we walk through entering and leaving retail stores, maybe it's some electronic device we use, it could be lots of things. While the safety zone might exceed the 12 miles the Japanese are enforcing, thousands of miles away, we're just fine.

However, talkers like Nancy Grace and Alex Jones don't want you to think so. Nancy Grace interviewed a climate specialist someone who knows far more about all the issues on the subject, but she couldn't keep herself from shouting over this expert brow beating him to death on a subject she has no credentials to second guess him. Alex Jones, perhaps the biggest blowhard on talk radio, stirs up the boogie men as the U.S. government and Japanese conspiring together not to let the truth get out. Jones feeds little bits and pieces together, exaggerates them, uses the to play into his greater fear campaign and leads his audience to draw conclusions for themselves we're in deep trouble.

As we have posted earlier, our country is way too self-obsessed with the Japanese tragedy seeing the horrors of what beset Japan mainly in terms of how it might (but won't) hurt us. The nuke plant is serious for the Japanese not us, but death and destruction is the overwhelming problem we're just too insensitive to see clearly.

We are surprised at CNN to resorting to cheesy sensationalism to boost up its ratings perhaps because there is an element of radical environmentalism and anti corporate thinking there, but the more intellectual aspect of the issue is not conveyed in the shadow of Nancy Grace's bitchy yapping.

Alex Jones has no umbrella to tone him down and stand accountable for his nonsense. His program does not make it to the major stations and few major markets carry his nonsense. Outside of Texas, probability Norfolk, Virginia is the largest market to carry his foolishness. His following comes more from satellite radio and the Internet.

How we're reacting to the Japanese disaster and thinking back to how quickly Katrina digressed into blamestorming and finger pointing, we must be very concerned when the big earthquake finally hits the west coast. Scientists suggest that day is long over due.

It's time for America to grow up and also trivialize the fear mongers for what they are. Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.

Bill Maher Calls Sarah Palin a Bad Name -- For Fox That's Hard News

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble, twit, twot, twhat?? TWEET, TWEET, TWEET.
Sarah Palin versus Bill Maher, TWHAT THE HELL???

For the record, we will opine that Sarah Palin is a TWINKIE, a stale, moldy TWINKIE -- all sweetness is purely artificial, substance malnutritious, content heavy on artificial ingredients.

Here we go again, left-wing, Christian hating, atheist left-wing extremist comedian/commentator, Bill Maher, on his HBO program slammed Sarah Palin first with what was actually a funny joke that captures Palin’s idiocy beautifully.

So you heard how Sarah Palin reacted when she heard Japan was hit by the Tsunami?

She responded, “Well, by golly we’d better go bomb the hell out of that Tsunami?

Ha-ha-ha, folks can make a career out of trashing vulnerable figures in the public eye, and Sarah Palin. Good enough, but Maher also called Palin, “a twot.” Okay, that’s a very offensive term and overtly sexist in polite society, but Maher is not “polite society.” His audience is a group of idiots who’d characterize themselves as “hip progressives’ the kind of detached elitists who live in cities like New York and Los Angeles plus have a strong following on college campuses.

In typical form, each time Palin gets jabbed in the media, her faithful mouthpiece, Fox News, publishes a story concerning the snub, gives it top story status, and at very least, the deed will be noted with a fair amount of outrage on Sean Hannity’s program.

Predictably, the next time Sarah Palin is in front of the cameras, either responding to a question or making a statement, she’ll not just express her outrage at being insulted, she’ll toss in some nasty insults of her own like in response to former Pennsylvania Senator, Rick Santorum who had found some humor in her turning down a speaking engagement. Santorum’s taunt against Palin was hardly vulgar, just a light-hearted jab, but not to the Wasilla Wench who responded, “I’d like to call him a knuckle dragging Neanderthal but I’ll leave that to his wife to do.”

Of course, Fox News coverage was just short of play-by-play, blow-by-blow every step of the way. What’s ironic is Fox dismissed Santorum and Newt Gingrich for their status as potential Presidential candidates – but who’s making the biggest noise in that regard?

Did somebody say the Wasilla Wench??/

Sarah Palin appears able to get the lead story position on at least one Prime Time Fox program almost on demand which amounts to every time an insult directed at her is made public, and it’s usually Fox News, if no one else, publicizes the taunt.

Can anyone not see the conflict in interest? Palin is both the story of the news and the commentator hired to reflect on the news. It’s hard to call what she offers as commentary since it consists of her responding to her situation in the context of a newsmaker not in a segment specifically put aside for her to conduct news analysis (something obviously far too complicated for her limited intellectual skill set) or a space specifically for commentary (She’ll gladly run her mouth on anything no matter how simplistic, immature, or ignorant the content might be0.

It’s a fundamental observation of child psychology that when bullies torment a worthy target, and the child subjected to torment responds demonstrably, the bullies realize they got their adversary’s “goat” and pile it on more relentlessly. Those who keep their cool and brush off moronic attacks soon are relieved of any bully torment. Alas, Sarah Palin's outlook on insult is to return all taunts with equal or greater ferocity. Those who torment her realize their torment hit its mark. VICTORY.

Imagine if George W. Bush or Barack Obama responded to every insult directed at them especially if they tried to get “down and dirty” with them. Satire, harsh and unfair criticism, even outright hatred goes with the turf. The mature responsible figure brushes it off with perhaps nothing more than a polite “no comment” or “I wouldn’t dignify that comment with a response.”

Sarah Palin can take the heat and reveals herself as not just immature and thin-skinned but at heart a very mean-spirited and hostile woman. She not only lowers herself to the level of her attackers but that she returns fire on the same level reduces her even lower.

The media must stop dealing with the slapstick which allows the media starved should-be nobody from getting undeserved face time. Clearly Palin realizes that if she can get her puss on television, she’s a winner.

Instead, the Media needs to dwell on the real Sarah Palin story that proves she has no educational background to be an expert on anything and that her political experience is very limited. She could not fulfill her one term as governor, and report abound she was clearly in over her head. Further, the gubernatorial needs of Alaska are a far cry from the far more complex issues faced in most of the lower 48 states.

Responsible Republicans and conservatives MUST not only distance themselves from those who are a tremendous liability to their fortunes, they must acknowledge and criticize those who claim rights to their cause who clearly embarrass them at large with independents and easily swayed supporters. Sarah Palin is unfit to govern, period. It doesn’t matter where her heart appears to be. A person with no intellectual curiosity, an obviously socially immature personality, one who never has articulated any issue beyond a mediocre primary school level, and clearly has a very limited knowledge/experiential base does no one any good. That she preaches to peoples’ fears, hatred, and insecurity so effectively is an unacceptable rational for acceptance.

Clearly, Sarah Palin has a dedicated base that hangs on her every word no matter how misspoken it is. Somehow, that formula must translate into ratings and ad-revenue for Fox News since there couldn’t be a more explicit demonstration of leaping away from their stated ideal of being: “fair and balanced.” Of course, MSNBC, likewise, will never sway away from grabbing the pencil and attempt to gouge her eyes out.

The credibility of Fox News is at stake as the 2012 Presidential election heats up. It’s bad enough they have a prime show host suffering from a myriad of severe psychological impairments that consistently show obvious paranoiac and delusional who has severe personality defects in an ongoing struggle dealing with alcohol and substance abuse dementia. Is it any wonder Glenn Beck speaks fondly of Sarah Palin being a close personal friend? Of course any conspiracy theorist trying to sell a book who appears on his program is always a “good old friend.”

Responsible journalism is discredited by trotting out pandering to the prejudices, fears, and anger of fringe elements in the public at large. Doing so makes them appear part of the fringe and not the greater majority. Fox News cannot pretend to show any journalistic objectivity given their cozy relationship and open advocacy of Sarah Palin. A network cannot present commentators screaming extreme views without being perceived as open advocates of the commentator’s positions when there is no clear contrary programming presenting other viewpoints or any attempt to provide rebuttals. The public at large perceives Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck as all right wing fire-breathers despite the huge difference between the three hosts’ stances. The national media selects the most extreme of the three and use his positions as characteristic of all three. O’Reilly’s defense of traditional values with a strong populist element contrasts significantly from Sean Hannity who enthusiastically articulates the mainstream conservative Republican stance. Either one of them is a far cry from the sense of monolithic doom, bizarre secret agents out to destroy all, and rambling delusions from the scary little man. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin is on the marquee showing up as what should seem to be an uninvited guest when there are far more important issues with consequences of far greater gravity than whether or not Fox’s little snarling grizzly got her feelings hurt again.

That Bill Maher said something outrageous and controversial about Sarah Palin should surprise no one. That’s his job. That the folks at Fox or Sarah Palin think NOW or any feminist cause would step forward and scream in defense of Palin is a waste of hot air. They’re a left-wing political front not an organization supportive of all women. Does somebody expect otherwise.

At some point somebody’s going to smear Palin and something will happen, probably the extent to her overreaction or the significance of the forum where she blasts off will make the circumstances much higher profile and the national news will report her insanity for what it is. They’ll turn their analysts loose who will carry no water for Palin. Someone will do as we have attempted to do, put her behavior in perspective that will make Sarah bashing mainstream, inescapable, and absolutely accepted. Any continued support for her rag-tag old-timey reactionary simple mindedness from Fox News will erode their posture and if the Republican Party doesn’t distance itself and ostracize Palin, the damage the GOP will suffer could be severe and long lasting.

Let’s see if we can get on Fox news, “Sarah Palin is a ___________________________!” Pick the most demeaning term that comes to mind and fill in the blank. That should do it. Sarah, we’re loaded for bear too. POW!!!!

Shame on Us!!!!

Are you scared, are you really scared, ARE YOU REALLY, REALLY SCARED???
Wake up America!!! Look at the folks in Japan. They have sustained the 5th worst earthquake in recorded history. The ensuing tsunami caused unprecedented damage and loss of life would be much higher were it not for Japanese preparation. Every picture from Japan shows humanity at its best. Sure there are mother's weeping, but we don't see folks arguing, there's no looting, there's no "poor little me" interviews in front of TV cameras. Images of people working together are second only to the overwhelming sea of human suffering. The damage is widespread.Essentially, once one gets north of Tokyo, particularly on the east side of Japan, the scenery is horrible. Take a look at the picture above.

The tsunami whacked a four reactor nuclear power plant shutting down its cooling systems and causing the reactors to fail. Some radio activity has been released. Reliable information suggests that areas within 50 miles endured some contamination, but so far none of it appears lethal. There is much to learn. Take a look at the picture above.

The reactors could melt down, but the plants are designed to contain the damage. Given the special circumtances of this horror, the containment might not be completely successful. It won't be as bad as Chernobyl that laid to waist a huge piece of real estate in the Ukraine. More than 50 people died as a direct result of the reactor's explosion. How many died from the far reaching effects vary tremendously from those who try to minimize it to those who madly exploit it. Surely, somewhere in the low thousands sounds most realistic. Take a look at the picture above.

The worst case scenario in Japan would suggest a Chernobyl like experience is almost impossible. It's way too soon to talk about permanent damage or how bad this will be. By this time next week, much more will be known.Take a look at the picture above.

Even if things blew up like Chernobyl, damage would not travel across the Pacific Ocean and harm the United States. Sure there would be a radio-active cloud. Sure detection devices would indicate an increase in radiation. Almost certainly on television news some blonde anchor girl who has roasted herself in a tanning bed and is frequently seen with a cell phone pressing against her ear who peered into CRT monitors for years, will be asking frightening rhetorical questions about what does this really mean to us, How much should YOU be concerned about YOUR safety.Take a look at the picture above.

The news coverage is all about the nukes, the nukes, the nukes, the nukes, and more about the nukes. When will they explode? Just how bad are they? Folks fear they're not getting the whole story? What should YOU do to be prepared?

Fact; Iodine pills have all but vanished from US suppliers as scared to death Americans have rushed to the stores to grab pills "just in case." Just in case of WHAT?  We're probably much more likely to have one of our plants blowup and spew some radioactivity than anything resulting from Japan. Furthermore, folks who are ingesting iodine tablets, "just in case" are more likely to suffer severe harm from the Iodine tablets than any source of radiation. There's nothing that's going to expose anyone to what one would encounter with an x-ray or CAT scan. Folks gladly expose themselves to all kinds of radiation in pursuit of a lovely tan.

American local news has long specialized in "if it bleeds, it leads." Big fires, shootings, horrible accidents, and stuff blowing up gets the big lead story. Regardless of what happens, they have a tacky way of taking any story and then pretend to report -- so what does this mean to you? They can't come right out and say unless a person has friends or family in Japan, there's nothing to worry about.

Take a look at the picture above.

Alas, the media wants that image -- the atom, the mushroom cloud, the steaming nuke plant fixed in our minds. They want us anxious. They want us on the edge of our seats. They want us wondering what will happen next. Why? They know that's how they can get us to watch their sappy excuse for a newscast that spends more time on women's health issues than what's going on in the state legislature, local schools, or what the city or county government is wasting its money on.

The national news is doing much the same thing, but they'll also concern us whether Washington is doing all it can do. They'll get us all worked up whether Japan is being honest with us -- conspiracies get people worked up.

It's all about us -- terrible things are happening to the Japanese, wonderful people who work hard and have behaved themselves far beyond what Americans would achieve as witnessed by Hurricane Katrina. Things are horrible in the middle East. Qaddafi is killing his own people and now our planes are joining with other countries to enforce a no fly zone. Young men are killing other young men in our inner cities and low rent districts. The situation along the southwest border continues intolerable, and things are very scary in Juarez, Mexico. What's happening down there and how it is spilling into the United States where parts of Arizona are virtually occupied territory gets far too little press, but can that affect us? YOU BET IT CAN. Maryland is encouraging drawing the problem to the once called "Free State" -- well the Free State now offers in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. Real Maryland kids will get bumped out of real Maryland colleges. WHO'S SCARED ABOUT THAT?

The media has proven to be sensationalistic and off focus while the American people are acting smug, helpless, and worried to death. It's all about us, all about me, me, me, and absolutely ME, ME, ME!!!

How are the Japanese folks coping?  What do they need? Are kids getting food? Are old folk getting medical care? WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP OUT?

It's so screwed up right now, if a person from Japan just got off an airplane the yahoo-stupid American would be more likely to recoil in fear frightened that the Japanese visitor might be contaminated and could be contagious. Who'd walk up to that person, voice reassurance, "We're hear for you brother or sister?" and then wish that soul all the good fortune and blessings for him and his family.

2011 is off to a bad start. Terrible things are happening. However, how can the news report or hold up a big mirror that shows us just how ridiculous, petty, and narrow minded our public is as if we're all as thin skinned as Sarah Palin in some way or another. Speaking of the worst America has to offer, look who's off to the Middle East.

Big bad America is living up to its reputation no matter how many resources we've contributed to helping Japan. That's not sexy news and lots of folks don't want us spending our money on helping others ignorant that our best defense very well could be how well we treat our friends around the world.

Japan might be smouldering, but the United States is flaming out.

Jew Hating Bitch Won't Shut Up

Why does Elton John's song, "The Bitch is Back" echo in our ears?

This must be the week for hate speech and media whackos, starting with Glenn Beck returning from vacation, first Reverend Jeremiah Wright surfaced bad mouthing his student in radicalism, Barack Obama, while professing pure socialist ideologies. Now the former White House witch, the unapologetic Jew hater, Helen Thomas returned to the spotlight spewing venom true to form.

Interviewed in the upcoming April issue of Playboy, God pray she keeps her clothes on, Thomas makes no apologies for her hate mongering.“I knew exactly what I was doing – I was going for broke,” adding, “I had reached the point of no return. You finally get fed up … I finally wanted to speak the truth.”

The cranky old bitch then goes for the throat stating, "[The Jews are] using their power, and they have power in every direction. Power over the White House, power over Congress … Everybody is in the pocket of the Israeli lobbies, which are funded by wealthy supporters, including those from Hollywood. Same thing with the financial markets. There's total control … It isn't the 2 percent. It's real power when you own the White House, when you own these other places in terms of your political persuasion. Of course they have power.(directed to her interviewer)  You don't deny that. You're Jewish, aren't you?"

Isn't this ironic for a person who professes to be a dyed-in-the wool proud Liberal professing the kind of reactionary bigotry the conservative movement has fought so hard to distance themselves from.

The ultimate measure of a Jew-hater is weighing in critically on the true horrors of the horrors of the holocaust. Thomas cranked up the bigotry to a more hateful and bizarre level.

"There's nothing wrong with remembering it, but why do we have to constantly remember We're not at fault. I mean, if they're going to put a Holocaust museum in every city in Germany, that's fine with me. But we didn't do this to the Jews. Why do we have to keep paying the price and why do they keep oppressing the Palestinians? Do the Jews ever look at themselves? Why are they always right? Because they have been oppressed throughout history, I know. And they have this persecution. That's true, but they shouldn't use that to dominate."

In American society, it truly appears that contempt for the Jews must be seated in finding the truth is hard to swallow, that those who hate the Jews realize that they will never live up to the high standards or success enjoyed by so many great citizens from the Jewish Community. The American Jews generally live in tight-knit communities which share the values of education, hard work, and achievement. Is it any wonder that they far exceed their percentage of the population in leadership roles. Who contributes generously to the arts, local hospitals, and cultural institutions?  Israel is a beacon of liberty surround by a sea of hatred and failure.

Helen Thomas is a disgusting person who is simply too ignorant to realize that every time she knocks the Jews, she is revealing what a shallow contemptuous loser she truly is. While we would love for her to disappear, her Playboy interview gives us one last chance to pound the last nail in her coffin, to express our disdain of her sick point of view, and to counter her false opinions.

Good night, bitch, your work is done and your days will be soon. It will be no loss that's for sure.

NASCAR and Black Helicopters

We're expecting to see the traditional flyover at the start of the Daytona 500 to be those mysterious black helicopters everybody who loves those AM talk radio guys say are on the way. However, the source of the latest conspiracy has nothing to do with Barack Obama's birth certificate, 9/11 "truther," or even the Kennedy assassination. Leave it to Tony Korn-flakes to report he's heard from mysterious voices around the track that Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s winning the pole was a fix. NASCAR gave Earnhardt some benefit that wold make it happen. Okay, then who put pressed the detonation device that made him crash in practice.

Clearly, Tony Kornheiser has lost his marbles and might be a few fries short of a happy meal. How often have there been rumors of weird conspiracies in NASCAR?

Korn-flakes says his reliable source is Liz Clarke, a veteran race reporter for the Washington Post who  Tony the Kitty Cat said insisted there was a 60% chance Earnhardt's results were a fix. It hasn't been found in Wiki-Leaks has it?

Most of them seem to be from sports reporters from the North East who think NASCAR is not a real sport -- just a big gathering of southern white trash drinking lots of beer, eating funnel cakes and beef jerky watching cars go fast and turn right?  Maybe his source hangs out with Jeremy Mayfield who insists NASCAR must have put those drugs in his pee-pee. It wasn't him. Nope-nope-nope.

If Dale Earnhardt Jr. was running for NEMCO, we'd understand the skepticism, but he has a long record of success at Daytona, and who is his car owner and how many championships have come from that garage?

NASCAR is a real sport. It's here to stay. Surely race coverage is far more valuable to ESPN than PTI's cohost, Tony Korn-flakes.

Glenn Beck: Can the End Be Near? Ratings Fall

Imagine writing the profile for a typical Glenn Beck listener or viewer and trying to sell that subject to advertisers! Whoever those kind of people might be, they appear to be a vanishing breed. THANK GOD!!!!

"Philadelphia sucks!!!"  -- Glenn Beck

Here it is!  January saw a tremendous drop off in Glenn Beck's viewers as he took his insane doomsday conspiracy show where the evil Van Jones will kill us all to new levels of insane mania going as far as to implore his audience to start hording food.  Of course, they're already stock piling gold because Beck told his followers the dollar would soon be worth nothing. (Gold dealers and Shirley Temple DVD  sets are his major advertisers.)

Here is some much anticipated news about "Chicken Little."

http://www.businessinsider.com/for-the-first-time-ever-glenn-beck-drops-to-fifth-place-at-fox-news-2011-2

The scary little man has also been booted off the radio in two huge radio markets, New York, WWOR, and Philadelphia, WPHT. Take a listen to Beck's parting shot at Philadelphia....

We regret sourcing from "Media Matters" but this needs to be heard!

"Philadelphia Sucks" says the scary little man. Well, we have a few things to say about Beck and his nightly rants about every faction he doesn't support all being engaged with communists, socialists, radical Islam, and probably the cookie monster are working to destroy his vision of a place he calls America where all the people are white and engage in ritual worship of some deities named "the Founders."

Any parallels with United States history is truly coincidental. No doubt as rating books mounting up showing America has wised up about this filthy little creep, more radio stations will find far better options than Glenn Beck.  The day Roger Ailes gives him the boot from Fox News cannot come soon enough, and if the highly rated network wants any kind of journalistic integrity, they'll flush the toilet and let this worthless jerk with his fecal philosophy rush to the sewer where it belongs.

Pepsi Finally Gets Busted for a Crappy Advertisement

Plot Sequence: A black man is shown getting clobbered by an aggressive wife who kicks him under the table at a restaurant, slams his face in a pie, grabs his burger and sticks a bar of soap in his mouth, and then hectors him while sitting on a park bench while drinking a Pepsi Max where upon the black man’s attention is drawn to a very attractive white female jogger. The mean black lady then throws her can of Pepsi at the black man who ducks and it knocks the white girl to the ground. They both look at each other stunned and then quickly run away– end of commercial.

Reference ad: http://nation.foxnews.com/media/2011/02/09/sheila-jackson-lee-says-pepsi-super-bowl-ad-was-racist

It was certainly an easy ad to dismiss as just another tasteless stupid Pepsi ad. Pepsi has a long history of producing stupid tasteless advertisements. Most of their ads attempt to belittle Coca Cola who continues to rule the soft drink empire. Many are feeble attempts to be hip or edgy, but they are always stupid.

However this time they ignited charges of RACISM to the extent that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee denounced Pepsi on the floor of the house as if the legislative body doesn’t have more pressing issues to examine. Few public figures stir up racial frenzies and toss about the “race card” more fanatically than the Texas congresswoman. Her complaints are so frequent, so loud, so exaggerated, most Americans dismiss her complaints as pure garbage but advertisers generally take note fearful of being accused of a progression of sins: insensitivity through a litany of violations of the politically correct doctrine to RACISM!!!

Google “Pepsi racist super bowl ad” and see how many Internet petitions and pleads to boycott Pepsi are posted. Most Americans could care less but this demeaning ad has to have Coca Cola executives in Atlanta sneering with satisfaction.

While we are sick and tired of ginned up charges of RACISM, cries of things that are deemed “offensive” or “demeaning”, and deplore the whole culture of political correctness which is pure intellectual fascism, this advertisement does traffic in unfortunate stereotypes with no subtlety whatsoever. The black female is portrayed as nothing short of a real nasty bitch. The black guy is portrayed as a total dufus and reinforces the notion that black men lust for white women. The white girl is the sweet pretty damsel in distress knocked out flat on the ground assaulted by black people. There is no subtlety to this. All these elements are as full blown and obvious as possible.

One would think Pepsi knows better. Perhaps some white yahoos might have found this ad popular – the ones who are intellectually challenged enough to think Sarah Palin has what it takes to be President. The bottom line is anything short of censorship, Pepsi pretty much deserves what will come their way. They deserve no pity whatsoever.

It’s hard to determine what is more obvious how racist the ad is or how stupid it is. Rest assured, the ad probably won’t air again but Pepsi will continue to insult their customers with more stupid ads. That’s what Pepsi does.

Media Justice -- Part Two: NY Radio Station Dumps Beck

An idiot's idiot!!

WWOR-AM one of New York's most powerful radio stations is dropping Glenn Beck in favor of Mike Gallagher -- the reason: RATINGS!  Given New York is the number one radio market in the country, this must be seen as good news. While surely some lesser power station will pick up the pathetic fear monger, this is surely a promising sign that the scary little man's tide is turning; however until Fox News gives him the boot (we can only hope and dream), he will remain a high profile annoyance for the foreseeable future.

He deserves relative obscurity along with the other worst of the worst like Michael Savage and Alex Jones.

Reference: New York Daily News

As for Mike Gallagher, he's entertaining, a little off-beat, generally on target, but never to be taken as a final source on any issue. He's a good rah-rah cheerleader conservatism, the next tier down from Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

Media Justice

I can't help but think how cool it would be if some 370 pound, 6ft 8 in beast would elude security and clobber Glenn Beck with a powerful upper cut to the chin and we could watch him spit out his teeth like Chicklets then wallow crying on the floor like the pitiful little puke he truly is. Just the picture of his face beams like a huge neon sign, KICK MY ASS!!!

One can never figure Beck has finally bottomed out on his lies and paranoia. Today's subject -- what's going on in Egypt and the press coverage thereof.  While the media is quite capable of bias, for the most part, Egypt has been covered as best as possible in such a fluid situation. Because a couple networks (and I believe Fox News had also) broadcast figures sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood, he accused them of SUPPORTING their movement. Quickly, his commentary turned to building up the usual paranoia/conspiracy nonsense. As with his usual raves was his "nothing up my sleeve"  -- don't believe me -- check for yourself-- nonsense.  Well, Mr. Beck, this writer didn't need to check anything. This writer has been keeping abreast of the issues and your fear mongering as well. Your collective intellect wouldn't amount to a single piece of mouse droppings.

What a sick and sorry man Glenn Beck is devoting much of his time telling his audience how to live their lives, what values are important, and to hoard lots of food  just in case. Bad things are coming and a huge monolithic choice with await us all with one choice being something like communism or worse the other being the second coming of the Founding Fathers who will gallop across the fruited plain with Jesus Christ as their navigator. All the bad guys -- the goonies in the Middle East, anyone George Soros funds, the Chinese, the Russians, Iran, Chicago politics, the news media, and Charlie Sheen are all part of a global movement who will confront pioused self-righteous digbats (oops, that is Glenn Beck's followers).

Conservatives, Christians and Libertarians who've falled for his fear tactics have been sadly duped. WAKE UP, this fraud is leading you down the drain.

What could be crazier than him doing his screaming and yelling chalk-talk how what happened in Egypt this week will engult all of Europe and all the terrible things from the Greek economy to the Russian Airport bombing, to apparently some heated demonstrations in Ireland to Tunisia and Egypt are going to be overrun by an Islamic Caliphate or China. Islamic tyranny or Communism -- or perhaps a union of those two. NONSENSE.

Nobody like Glenn Beck has the sick imagination to tie together every bad thing he perceives going on in the world, blowing them out of proportion, ingoring the real essence of the problem, and uniting them all in some dreaded conspiracy designed to destoy us. Don't look for any nuance, shade of gray, natural contradictions. Nope, in Beck's world -- it's all "either/or."

Bubba, where are you?  Please lay this idiot out screaming and crying as the pathetic small sick person he truly is.

BUBBA, WHERE ARE YOU???

The Fountain Made Me Do It -- A Case Study in How NOT to Handle Adversity

NO PITY!!!
An idiot's idiot -- outed herself in one of the most classic embarassing situations ever.

Imagine seeing “pennies and coins” right before your eyes. Last thing you remember was texting your and your husband’s birthday to a friend. Ooops. Suddenly Berkshire Mall in Reading, Pennsylvania is suddenly on the map!!!

Before you laugh too hard, is there anyone who hasn’t pulled off some really dumbass stunt at some point?

Okay, so much for the obligatory moralizing. Some folk’s preoccupation with texting has gone WAY TOO FAR. Meet Cathy Cruz Marreno. Captured by maul surveillance cameras and somehow leaked to YouTube, this dim witted dope failed to notice she was taking the ultimate plunge. Here’s the initial report on CNN: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0RA9Pw6Z2o

Hold all responsible parties accountable…. Some how the mall is to blame? Egads, there’s only one person responsible -- FOUNTAIN LADY!!! Who even conceded she could have walked into a bus. Ah, but this is the litigious blameless society where nothing anyone does is ever that person’s responsibility. She’s all lawyered up and ready to kick some butt.

Can you see the outcome now? Malls will surely have big signs all around them that warn, “Danger, walking without stopping into the boundary around this fountain could be injurious to your health. Possible dangers include tripping and falling into the water. Harm could include a bumped head, strained joints, and aquatic immersion.

Hearing this woman speak erases any sense of pity one could have for this person. That a person like this should suffer such a fate somehow appears to be very appropriate divine justice

Shall we pose the obvious question? Who would have even known it was Cathy Cruz Marreno who fell in the fountain had she not lawyered up and gone on television to whine about her fate to begin with.

The story does not stop there as one of an unfortunate desperate housewife from hell. It turns out this fool has quite an impressive rap sheet that should make her “persona non grata” on the mall’s premises regardless.

She has outstanding felony charges for using a co-worker’s credit card to buy $5,000 in merchandise. Additional charges include criminal deception and receiving stolen property. Some of her rip offs involved stores located in the mall in which she took her world famous tumble. She also has a noteworthy record of previous convictions.

Here’s an extended interview from ABC’s “Good Morning America” which reveals just what kind of citizen we’re dealing with here – not the kind of person one would want as a next door neighbor for sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOBZmNVgOz0

Her true character comes shining through in this CNN report filed by reporter, Jeannie Moos. http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/offbeat/2011/01/20/moos.fountain.texter.cnn.html

When all things are considered in this episode, it’s hard not to imagine if one were standing next to Ms. Marreno near a fountain how hard it would be to resist the urge to push her in. Why do grand tours of the talk show circuit, a book deal, and a TV drama biography seem to be right around the corner when doing hard time in the slammer seem so likely to be her “next step?”

File this story under Shakespeare was Right, "Kill all the lawyers!" (Richard the Third)

Amanpour Once Again Proves She Is Idiot Delux in TV's Mainstream News Media

Christine Amanpour has been marketed as the ultra uber-intellectual, worldly, requiring some kind of savoir faire foreign expression that means she's the ultimate "been-there, done-that" bitch. From her exotic Mediterranean features to her snooty foreign accent, she's sold as being so damned smart only the most retarded offspring of sibling-fornicating rube could dare question her judgment.

In light of the Tucson tragedy clearly attributed to a totally whacked out madman, she attempts to crusade for the great ideological radical left's cynical misinformation propaganda campaign trying to argue the right wing "hate speech" provoked not only the killer but creating a dark political climate, salute the patron saints of liberal America -- their mightiest icons -- the Kennedy's and then show some kind of historical smarts by attempting to explore if there was some tainted political climate that set the platform for offing JFK and RFK. It's all in a question she asked in a recent interview.

We'll be kind and say she comes across as a well educated fool.  Anybody who doesn't drink the network or campus Kool Aid can see just how absurd her question is using nothing more than just plain folksy American common sense -- the kind of thinking she will never see as she would not want to mix it up with anyone in flyover country.

Here it is, folks.  You have been warned:

Sarah Palin Attempts to Refuel Red Hot Political Rhetoric over Tucson Tragedy

Palin lashes out. How low will she go?

In her first public appearance since the Arizona tragedy, rather than attempting to calm the heated political rhetoric that had arisen so disgracefully about this horrible event, Palin poured more fuel on the fire lashing out harshly at her critics while engaging in not too transparent blatant self pity.

ABC poll shows only 30% support Palin’s conduct in response to the Tucson shootings. Her most offensive remarks: Journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible." served to reignite fire that the American people wanted quashed.
* * * * *
In the aftermath of tragedy, society often quickly looks for lessons learned or that perhaps something that happened that was so terrible might sew some seeds of good in response. While it is way too soon to see what the total impact of the Tucson tragedy will be, one hopes that the citizens of this country will hold our elected leaders responsible to meet higher standards of conduct and that the back and forth head bashing must stop. We demand passionate debate of real issues not how one person can gain in the one-upmanship game of name calling, bogus accusations, and crude insinuations.

There is a long list of political figures and media icons who are guilty of heinous hateful blame storming perhaps the most stunning initial response being that of New York Times columnist squarely laying the blame on the tea party and conservatives for what he claimed to be hate inducing rhetoric while bodies were still being unloaded from ambulances and the shooter identified.

Naturally, it’s hard for any situation that arouses left-wing anger not to invoke Sarah Palin and associate her with the worst of whatever it is as a major contributor to the worst of that which they criticize.

Well before Barack Obama’s memorial and “chill out” speech on Wednesday, only the most radical leftists could still stick by their guns attempting to lay blame on the right. Their blame game and insinuations were so obviously false. Up to that point, Sarah Palin had followed a responsible course of action, remaining silent aside from an obligatory statement of sympathy and concern for the victims.

There is a time and place for speaking out. There is a time for silence. Clearly, in the wake of what happened in Tucson, any high profile politician should only weigh in on the situation in a very careful way if his or her contribution would be helpful. It’s time for the families to deal with their loss and for the legal system to take care of what lies ahead.

Sarah Palin destroyed herself on Thursday acting as though she intended to show her solidarity with the victims – at least that’s how she would explain her remarks but what followed became another all too typical Palin – poor pitiful me narratives where everyone’s out to get her. That she would invoke the concept of “blood libel” surely ignorant of the term’s historical significance relating to Nazi treatment of the Jews under Hitler the implied analogy linking her critics to Nazis and herself to persecuted Jews took the whole level of her tears and jeers presentation to an even more absurd rhetorical frenzy.

The manner her comments were broadcast was also revealing. She did not speak before an audience. She posted it on her Facebook page where the media immediately ceased up on it, and the results were quite predictable – another media pounding for Palin over-reacting and demonstrating how she never can keep herself from lowering herself into the mire of madness her nastiest critics create. She is once again to rise up above the pig pen wallowing in the slop instead. She comes across as immature and insecure, self-centered in a profoundly childish way.

Her remarks proved to be another Palin hit and run. She issued her inflammatory statement while refusing all media contact until, ironically prime time coverage on Fox News on the date America salutes Martin Luther King. That in and of itself coupled with her involvement with the Glenn Beck rally at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28th, the anniversary of Dr. King’s dream speech shows her absolute insensitivity to Dr. King’s cause and the feelings of his admirers.

The setting was an interview with Sean Hannity occupying the first two programming slots, more than 20 minutes giving her a chance to explain herself, but where Sean Hannity is a fine conservative talk show host, he is way too biased to provide a satisfactory probing interview of Sarah Palin. He tosses up little more than softball questions that are absolutely sympathetic with her campaign.

Palin offered nothing to calm the confrontation. She did nothing constructive to attempt to quell the rhetoric. She plunged right back into the cesspool her critics had crafted for her and attempted to lob the contents of the cesspool at anyone who does not feel sympathy for the self-perceived abuse she receives once again reviving her slut at the media “the lame-stream media,” a term created by media critic Bernard Goldberg, to tear away at her critics.

In having her spot on primetime she accomplished nothing to advance her situation or help cool off the bad feelings Americans feel about what happened in Arizona. She covers no new ground. Intelligent Americans know the score. Their tolerance for more political bomb throwing especially in response to this national tragedy will not be accepted. What she accomplished was to establish herself even more as a crass polarizing figure. Certainly, her hard core supporters will fall for the “poor Sarah’s getting the stuffing knocked out of her again” while those who can’t stand her have been served up a huge serving of fresh meet to feed their passion even more.

New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, clearly understood her dilemma when being interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. He criticized Palin for hiding behind scripted presentations and urged her to take her message directly to her critics.

Sarah Palin only expresses her views in three forums: on the Internet, friendly forums on Fox News, and to live audiences of the most carefully selected Palin supporters. She still carries resentment for how she perceives she was unfairly treated during her vice presidential run in the fall of 2008. While surely a person like Katy Couric would never be seen as a Palin sympathizer, her interview was professional and fair. It’s Palin who made herself look ignorant and shallow. Only Charlie Gibson’s question about a so-called “Bush Doctrine” was the least bit a trick question since there was never a formal Bush doctrine per se. It was a media construction used to describe President George W. Bush’s foreign policy. Rather than looking foolish, if she were prepared she could have clarified the question and presented a fair response if she had any real clue what Bush’s policies were.

That brings us to our final criticism of Palin. When and where can the American people expect her to engage in any discussion of real issues rather than bashing her opponents with tirades of insults while claiming to be a believer in the Constitution and follower of the Founding Fathers showing blind religiosity in her conviction as if the Constitution is scripture and our founders are deities?

Her avoidance of media other than one outlet that pays her to play might keep her from avoiding tough questions but it also leaves it to her critics to complete the narrative of her limitations because she refuses the chance to set the record straight if in fact she has any real defenses worth hearing or has anything of substance worth saying.

Respected News Analyst Juan Williams Fired from NPR for Honest Aside about Muslim Fears

This date, October 21, 2010 marks a very dark day in journalism and free expression where political correctness and left wing elitist ideology exercised its clout while at the same time pandering to a radical identity politics institution. The result reveals that tax supported media is far from as “public” as perhaps the population should expect.

The background is as follows, National Public Radio, journalist and Fox News contributor, Juan Williams, appeared on the O’Reilly Factor giving his insights into the flap which occurred on the ABC mid-day program, “The View,” where on Friday Bill O’Reilly appeared as a guest promoting his book, Pinheads and Patriots. The subject of discussion turned to the Ground Zero mosque in lower Manhattan. O’Reilly was attempting to establish that part of the public’s difficulty with Barack Obama is that he simply cannot identify with public furor over a mosque in the shadows of where the World Trade Center towers stood. When O’Reilly pointed out that Americans were killed by Muslims on 9/11/01, View panelists, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar stormed out in anger setting off a media explosion over the event.

Juan Williams, a liberal proponent, discussed his perception on civil rights and addressing issues of prejudicial conduct indicating that O’Reilly should have qualified his comments speaking too broadly about Islam as if all Muslims were invoked in what happened on 9/11. Williams went on to talk about how perceptions are tricky things pointing out that if he were on an airliner and saw a couple passengers dressed in Arab garb, he might feel uneasy.

For his contrition, not only was he fired by NPR, but his dismissal was handled over the telephone. He was not even given the dignity for a face to face reckoning.

Here are Williams’ words:

I mean, look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country, but when I get on a plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they're identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous,"

Shame on Williams for being contrite and admitting his feelings.

In defending NPR’s actions, their statement on the matter argued,

"Juan has been a valuable contributor to NPR and public radio for many years and we did not make this decision lightly or without regret. However, his remarks on 'The O'Reilly Factor' this past Monday were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR,"

While NPR has no problem enforcing its extreme political correct agenda, it is also noteworthy that CAIR, the Council for American-Islamic Relations demanded NPR take action against Williams. Surely, cow towing to agenda driven identity politics special interests is nothing new for members of the media elites.

How shameful it is that there is no room for debate or diversity of points of view at NPR. Given that the organization is in part publicly funded, its programming and editorial policies should promote diverse points of view but unquestionably NPR is aligned with the radical forces of the far left. Williams is what most would consider at very least a mainstream liberal, but in today’s world of Obama Socialism, identity politics, and political correctness, a person speaking to the difficulty of dealing with prejudices should be slammed for being nothing more terrible than honest.

One can’t help but wonder is it coincidental that just yesterday George Soros issued a press release that he was contributing a huge sum of money to Media Matters, his puppet group to harass those entities that provide diverse views in the media but in this case specifically, Fox News, and their pseudo-libertarian extremist demagogue, Glenn Beck.

NPR’s stance demands action. This kind of radical intolerance and dogmatic approach to editorial policy is not suitable for an organization supposed to act in good faith to maintain the public trust. On top of everything else, NPR’s CEO, Vivian Schiller stated, “Williams views should stay between himself and his psychiatrist.” WHOA, to not believe in NPR’s orthodoxy makes one in need of clinical mental care!?!? OUTRAGEOUS!!!

NPR must come up with an action plan to develop more diverse programming providing for representing the full range of mainstream American politics and do so without giving the appearance of favoring or promoting one point of view over the other.

While the notion of “The Fairness Doctrine” is abhorrent for commercial radio where the market drives content, NPR as NATIONAL PUBLIC radio, must reflect such standards.

While this blogger does not agree with most of Juan Williams’ political positions, there is no arguing this is a man of high integrity who serves to open discussion and analyze positions refusing to function as an ideological drone for one political faction over another. This kind of professionalism sets a high standard for all opinion driven commentators and serves as the exact kind of roll model that demonstrates fear mongers like Glenn Beck have no place in the media; however, Beck’s removal should not be mandated by any kind of censorship or the attempts of someone like George Soros trying to buy a solution.

All those of us who are outraged by what happened to Juan Williams should speak out about media abuses regardless of where they occur. Those who exploit the media to stifle open discussion or to perpetuate fear must be challenged.

Keep abreast of how this issue takes on life in the days ahead. Loud public outcries against NPR are essential to bring about making public radio a voice or all the people not just the Ivory Tower elites who have appointed themselves as our moral guardians and decide what they think we should hear making sure our viewpoints could never be corrupted by those who don’t tow the party line even if done so in such a small departure as what Juan Williams view represents.

Today is a very dark day for journalism and public radio. We cannot let such injustice go unchallenged.
