Top 15 Worst Sports' Fans

GQ Magainze issued a survey of the 15 worst sports identified by their teams in the country. Their introduction says it all:

GQ's heavily researched, highly scientific accounting of the bleacher creatures, bottle-throwers, couch-torchers, sexual harassers, projectile vomiters, and serially indifferent bandwagon-hoppers marring our national landscape. Residents of the City of Brotherly Love: You might want to start planning your victory parade right now.

To be sure, alcohol drenched boorish behavior is a shameful phenomenon that the public appears all too willing to excuse or push aside, but assault, arson, vandalism, malicious destruction of property, intimidation, and general hooliganism is never to be tolerated -- yet all too often sporting events are an excuse for way too many to act like common criminals.

How often does a city erupt into riots when its team wins a national championship  -- cars turned over and set on fire, store front windows broken, facillities looted and vandalized?  However, the University of Maryland, #5 on the list for its basketball fans not only shout, "Fuck Duke, Fuke Duke" when playing the legendary North Carolina private college and create pure havoc for anyone associated with the Blue Devils, after the game, the College Park community erupts in flame.

Naturally, horrible things happen within stadiums where taunting fans of opposing teams is treated as fair game and screaming obscenties has become way too common place. One has to look at places like Cleveland Browns footballs games (not on the list) and wonder how there can still be a fine father and son bonding event at a major sports' game be it baseball, basketball, hockey, or football.

Some suggest reducing alcohol sales might be the answer. Where do fools get the money to buy $8 beeres in enough quantity to get trashed?

This writer, for one, is one fan who gets very offended when the "Steelers suck! Steelers suck! Steelers suck!" chants start echoing through out the Batlimore Ravens' stadium. For the record people who behave like that suck. They need to know it in no uncertain terms.

Have fun looking at the GQ survey. Their explanations are right on target.

1—(tie) Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies
3 – University of West Virginia (football)
4—Oakland Raiders
5 – University of Maryland (basketball)

Baltimore fans will be consoled that the Red Sox rate #6, Duke basketball rates #8 and the New York Yankees rate #9. That the Terps are #5 says a lot about how much the fans need to improve as much as their hapless team does.

Fans should be passionate, enthusiastic, and loyal. It's okay to make noise and direct some good natured taunting at the opposition. Clearly, way too many fools don't know the difference. Let's demand better.

Forty Years Ago Today: Four Dead in Ohio

Four innocent students were murdered by the Ohio National Guard on May 4, 1970 for simply being on campus at the wrong time. These were not fire breathing radicals. All indications were they were good kids going to Kent State University at the wrong time.

The town of Kent was a riot zone. The town was ransacked by opportunistic radical jerks who fed on the anger students felt because of President Richard Nixon's recent decision to escalate fighting in Vietnam including incursions into Cambodia. In a struggle that had already become a blood bath of American youth since 1966, American youth of draft age were refusing to offer themselves up to be human sacrifices in a senseless war of no strategic or national security interest to the United States where the United States government put its entire might behind a corrupt and unpopular South Vietnamese government.

In addition to the four Kent State students whose futures were snuffed out by an overly aggressive and poorly prepared National Guard Unit, over 58,000 young Americans would be killed, their lives destroyed in the jungles of a distant land. History clearly shows how wrong our government was. The so-called domino theory made it sound as though stakes were much higher than what was already essentially the case before our forces left South Vietnam. South Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia would all become communist states but a monolithic communist movement sweeping across Asia never materialized. The North Vietnamese surely knew they wanted no part of the world's whore house in Thailand.

Today, although not free by our standards, Vietnam is a peaceful country struggling to become part of the world economy. The United States still hasn't gotten over Vietnam as the horrors of that war were so intense, we cannot commit to wars clearly in our strategic interest such as in Afghanistan and Iraq without some seeing those wars as being the same kind of mess Vietnam was.

Make no mistake about it, the Iraq war wound up being fought for less than what we thought was at stake as no major stockpiles or development programs of weapons of mass destruction were ever found. Regardless, we did discover plenty of abuses and horrors that surely justified the riddance of Saddam Hussein. Meanwhile, our ongoing efforts to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan, where safe sanctuary was provided for Al Qaeda to function freely, present our military with a dreadful challenge defending a corrupt government essentially installed by our government forces whose economy is maintained by the opium poppy trade. We cannot simply defeat the Taliban, we must help Afghanistan convert to a legitimate economy, and develop a political system they can believe in that will never pose a threat to the world.

What happened forty years ago in Kent, Ohio changed the world. What innocence our country still held was forever obliterated. Those in power had blood on their hands. Those blood stains will surely never fade as the memory of those four normal Americans guilty of going to college were executed for that offense.

The Commish Rules: Take That You A**hole

NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, handed down a six week suspension which can be reduced to four weeks for Pittsburgh Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has been more or less caught with his pants down in a number of embarassing episodes of drunken, boorish, and abusive behavior which culminated in potentially facing rape charges after an incident in a bathroom with a 20 year old girl in a nighclub bathroom.
x
Hey Ben, you big slug, how do you expect fathers to explain to their sons who worship the ground ytou walk on wearing your jersey with Big Ben posters on their walls, why you're being suspended? You owe us, big guy. You owe us some real straight talk. No excuses. No half-assed "if I offended anybody" weasel talk. You owe us.
x
While many think the suspension is justified, some point out that he hasn't been convicted of anything, so how can he be punished?
x
Well, duh, the NFL needn't have a player be convicted as a criminal to take disciplinary action against one of its employees particularly when one's behavior brings shame on the organization for whom he serves. The NFL has enacted a code of conduct that players must obey or face the consequences. Roesthlisberger has had his share of episodes where the mixture of alcohol, testosterone, a screwed up male ego, and limited intellect have combined to get the Steelers' QB in hot water. That the Steelers organization is working in concert with the NFL shows the team's management understands what's going on too.
x
The only thing that might seem out of sorts is that Big Bad Ben could face six days off when Michael Vick only got four days for torturing and killing animals. While both QB's show very sick and demented states of mind, it comes down to what is more wicked behavior -- aggressive conduct toward human females or torturing and killing dogs. Both are reprehensible and reflect the absolute lowest degree of human character.
x
We have no sympathy for Ben Roethlisberger nor do we wish him good luck in his so called "recovery." His is not a situation worthy of pity. He'd damned well get the message, play it straight, do some soul searching, grow up, and prove that he can behave and be trusted. Only after he has turned the corner and shown he can behave like a civilized human being, can we then talk about forgiveness.
x
It's all up to Ben Roethlisberger.

Inexcusable Insanity in College Park After Terps' Magnificent Win Over Duke

The University of Maryland and Chesapeake area sports fans had much to be proud of Wednesday night. The University of Maryland’s Men’s’ Basketball team dealt the archrival Duke Blue Devils a convincing 79-22 defeat giving the team a share of 1st place with one game left to play in the regular season.

The vast majority of Terp fans were jubilant, joyful, and proud, but sadly once again, the conduct of some total losers tarnished the victory and gave the University’s reputation a most unneeded black eye.

After the victory, crowds took to the streets of College Park, Maryland and quickly some turned violent. 27 were arrested, many of whom were students for charges including rioting, assault, theft, vandalism, arson, and various other forms of misconduct.

Surely, some will blame this episode on alcohol, but there are thousands of pubs where sports fans gather. It’s very rare that riots break out on the occasion of the home team winning short of the all-to-familiar burn the city to the ground idiocy that accompanies some city’s winning national championships.

Were most of these jerks drunk, probably, but what the media will tap dance around saying assertively, that anyone engaged in this kind of moronic behavior is little more than a world class loser.

No excuses! Let’s not hear the usual, oh they’re just college kids and they got a little carried away with themselves. There is no excuse for destroying property, damaging automobiles, confronting police officers and getting into fights. There is no, absolutely no justifiable reason for this behavior.

There is no need to analyze the offenders, no need to psychologize their motives, and no need to attempt to put these actions in a greater “societal” context. If society is to blame, it does not absolve any of these morons from their actions. If there is a societal context, it would be that we live in the “me” world, a permissive society that is far too tolerant of behavior without consequences, do your own thing hedonism, and the “if it feels good, do it” ethos.

We encourage anyone who might have interaction with these lowlifes involved in the Victory riot, to shun them aggressively. Make them social outcasts. Do not welcome them into any social circles. Make it clear to them their behavior has brought shame on their community and the University.

We likewise encourage the authorities to “throw the book” at this culprits. The University should expel the students as quickly as due-process permits. All sanctions the school can apply should be strictly enforced. The local law enforcement community should prosecute all criminal acts and if they just so happened to have other chargeable issues such as possession of open alcohol containers or possession of alcohol by a minor, nail them, nail them hard.

Finally, as these cases are adjudicated, every effort should be made to make their deeds public with photos in appropriate media outlets in the College Park area.

For thousands of students and fans who were treated to a great sports spectacle who behaved properly and those in the community not involved, they deserve to have their joy or privacy honored and those who violated their world must be dealt with harshly.

The university issued the following statement:

In the aftermath of last night’s exciting win for the men’s basketball team, there were several incidents representing poor judgment on the part of those participating in the postgame celebration. The postgame behavior of some students is inconsistent with the high standards – in academics, attitudes, and in behaviors – that we have set at the University of Maryland College Park.

The University of Maryland has policies that provide the authority, with police documentation and following due process, to suspend or expel a student for riot-related behavior whether or not he or she has been convicted in a criminal court.
To that end, the University of Maryland is taking steps to assure that those incidences are fully investigated, documented and, where appropriate, fully addressed by the university’s judicial process.

So Who Hurt Sarah Palin's Feelings Now?

This is getting old. Somebody on television makes fun of Sarah Palin. Instantly Fox News makes it a news item surely to be mentioned on the O’Reilly Factor and one of the other evening commentary programs and Sarah Palin will blast the insulter with an angry sense of indignation either on Fox News or to an audience at a speaking engagement.

The offender this time is Seth McFarlane through his primetime animated comedy, Family Guy, an episode in which the dullard middle child, Chris gets a rare date with a girl with Downs syndrome. While dining, Chris asks his date about her parents, and in her response she indicates, “…my mom’s the former governor of Alaska.”

Put two and two together, it was a slimy way to mock Palin and her son, Trig, who was born with the genetic condition in response to which Palin has attempted to be a voice for children with special needs.

There can be no denying that the program content was a tasteless low blow, but that’s what The Family Guy is all about. The program deals with shock humor, cheap shots at anyone MacFarlane finds an easy target, and attempts to push the envelop on tastelessness as far as the network censors will allow which is pretty far when it’s Fox TV.

Seth MacFarlane is a dedicated leftist and the show was developed with support of David Zuckerman. He has used the cartoon program as a convenient prop to joust public figures he disagrees with to the right including portraying Nazis as Bush/Cheney supporters. It’s not surprising to find a marriage between tasteless content, sick abusive humor, and pitches from a leftist point-of-view. It works for David Letterman doesn’t it. However, on a certain level for a huge audience not just staunch lefties, Family Guy is gut-busting funny. On many levels what he does is not that far off from what might be seen on The Simpsons or South Park.

Long story made short: MacFarlane is an idiot. His show is tasteless. Lots of people find it funny. He takes cheap shots at anyone he thinks can generate a cheap laugh. The past episode was Sarah Palin. That he would ridicule people with Down’s syndrome shows what kind of character the fellow has.

Sarah Palin is too stupid to realize that her making a big deal about MacFarlane’s jab only gives him more publicity enhancing his credibility. Most would have seen the show and reacted “what do you expect?” from Family Guy. That Palin is so thin-skinned to make a big deal about something this inconsequential not only distracts from more legitimate charges of insensitivity to “special needs” people such as Rom Emanuel calling adversaries “fucking retards.” Emanuel is a person of considerable authority expected to act professionally and appropriately. If there is any standard of decency which applies to Family Guy be assured Seth MacFarlane will push it to its limits.

These continued distractions that Sarah Palin cannot resist makes most of us who she reaches dismiss her as little more than a common whiner.

It's time for a quaint little tradition at Orioles games (which has spilled over to lots of sports events in Maryland) to end. Fans must stop screaming "O" when the "Star Spangled Banner" is played and gets to the land "Oh say does that star spangled banner still wave?" If there's anything that makes Baltimore seem like a low class town full of moronic rubes, it is this insult to the solemn nature of our national anthem and the purpose saluting our country serves at the beginning of a sports event.

Baltimore should be proud of its heritage. "The Star Spangled Banner" was composed by Marylander, Francis Scott Key, aboard the British Ship, HMS Tonnant, off Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore over the night of September 13 -14, 1814. On the morning of the 14th, Key saw the American flag still flew above the fort inspiring his poem, "The Defense of Fort McHenry" which would be adapted to music to become our national anthem. This story reflects one of Maryland's unique contributions to America's heritage.

The "O" chant originated in the Orioles Magic days from 1979 onward at Memorial Stadium from the infamous Section 34, an area near the end of the upper deck on the first base side inhabitted by truly blue collar fans lead by cab driver, Wild Bill Hagy, who helped develop a passion for Orioles baseball on par with the same kind of spirit shown for the Baltimore Colts which got Memorial Stadium known as the world's largest outdoor insane asylum.

In the context of its time, the roar from 34, the O's chant perhaps was just one more quirkly little thing of a wild bunch of rowdies having a good old time, but that was then, this is now. After 3000 Americans died on 9/11/2001 and our nation is engaged in two wars in response to Islamic terrorism, this silly tradition has run its course. Surely, the Camden Yards is not the home of truly blue collar rowdies that section 34 represented.

Baltimore fans are quick to call sports talk shows and whine about how the city gets no respect in the national media, how the Ravens don't get more coverage for their successes, and the Orioles? Well, start with how much is said of a team that has had a losing record for 12 years. Sure there are jerks in the national media who routinely diss Baltimore like Chris Berman and Colin Cowherd on ESPN, but when it comes to their remarks, consider the source.

Let's put this in perspective, how would the country at large react if Houston Rockets fans screamed "rockets" during "the rockets' red glare" or even more so, if Atlanta Braves fans shouted "Braves" at the end of the anthem, "....home of the brave."

Pretty damned stupid, right? So exactly what is the justification for yelling "O" during the "Star Spangled Banner" have in Crab City?

WARNING ADULT CONTENT: Charges Dropped Against Texas Woman Who Dropped F-Bomb at Walmart

First, let’s set the record straight, we are absolutely in favor of civility and deplore the coarsening of society. There is way too much gratuitous filthy language in Hollywood, case in point, the movie “Sixty One,” the Billy Crystal movie about Roger Maris’s pursuit of Babe Ruth’s homerun record that would have been a wonderful father/son bonding movie were it not for tirade upon tirade of foul language.

Second, there are situations where naughty language slips out. If a person drops a hammer on his toes, he is not likely to say, “Oh, fiddle sticks.” More often, the response would be something like, “God damnit!” “Aw fuck!” or “Jesus Christ.” There are even rare interactions with idiots where there is no other way to deal with the situation than a nice healthy, “Fuck you!”

Here's the story that caught our attention from the Galveston County Daily News.

The story that motivated this little blurb deals with a Texas woman, Kathryn Fridge, shopping for batteries at her local Walmart with her two year old daughter. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for being overheard saying, “They don’t have any fucking more.” She might have been just a little bit anxious as Tropical Storm Edouard was approaching landfall.

Her words were overhead by Alfred A. Decker IV, assistant fire marshall for the town of La Marque, Texas who cited Ms. Fridge on August 4, 2008. Decker handcuffed her, took her to his car, and issued a citation.

At long last, months later, March 19, 2009, City Prosecutor Jay Brown dropped the charge against Ms. Fridge according to Interim City Manager, Eric Gage. Gage issued the following statement from Mr. Brown:

“After completion of his investigation to the facts of the case and existing case law, the state contends there is insufficient evidence to proceed and moves to dismiss,”

Reacting to her charges being dropped, Ms. Fridge indicated she felt her name had been tarnished observing that she has seen police deal with far more filthy language remaining stone faced despite a barrage of obscenities concluding, “Her flipped out about something that didn’t have anything to do with him.”

We make our opinion perfectly clear about this, what Mr. Decker did is a bunch of fucking bullshit, and to his self-righteous holier than thou big shot with a badge attitude, we say, “FUCK YOU.” For being such an pompous asshole, we say, “FUCK YOU!” For wasting public time over something so petty, we say “FUCK YOU.” For not understanding a woman might be rightfully upset about not being able to find batteries with a storm approaching, we say, “FUCK YOU.” Furthermore, just on the overall principle of the whole thing Mr. Decker, “FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU!!!”

T.O. Heads for Buffalo

Pity the Buffalo Bills. For their great historical achievements, it seems like it's the dark side that is remembered. No other team has ever appeared in four straight Super Bowls! Poor Buffalo, they lost all four. O.J. Simpson made NFL history mostly for his days in Buffalo, but their great legend is more legendary for being a murderer and crook. Owner Ralph Wilson recently turned 91 years old, one of the original founders of the AFL, that upstart league that would ultimately merge with the NFL by the end of that decade putting NFL football on a near even footing with Major League Baseball having teams in just about every major city. Wilson was even elected to the Hall of Fame to be enshrined in July.

It's been awhile since Buffalo had a real impact player. The Jim Kelly/Bruce Smith days are fading fast into the football history book. Well, they have one now, Terrell Owens, best known for his initials "T.O." which most folks know as "Terribly Obnoxious" or "Team Obliterator." Since leaving the San Francisco 49'ers, T.O. has generally done a decent job in his first year as shown in Philadephia and Dallas, but in the second year, all hell breaks loose.

The AFC might be the perfect torture chamber for the self-absorbed star. He'll have to contend with the New England Patriots who have a real knack for knocking sassy opponents into line. The New York Jets will have a new supercharged defensive scheme with head coach, Rex Ryan, anxious to help his new team with fellows like Bart Scott make their mark, and then finally there's Miami, Bill Parcells, their head honcho. Supposedly, bounty is outlawed in football but every player on the Dolphins will know how much the Big Tuna will be pleased to have the player most single-handedly ruined his tenure in Dallas flattened like a tortilla.

The Suleman Tragedy; Fourteen Reasons We Should Damn This Idiot

If the fate of her children wasn't
so awful, her 15 minutes should
have been up days ago!!!

The beauty of the blogosphere is we can discard all the conventions and superficial manners of journalism and cut to the point. We do so here. Nadya Suleman is a fucking idiot. This pathetic excuse for a human being is to be condemned and loathed for her behavior not sympathized with or apologized for. Enough of the crazy talk, sure, one would have to be nuts to have done what she has done and continues to do. However, in the clinical or legal sense, she is not insane in the sense that she is not responsible and accountable for her actions and choices. Had she claimed an eight foot tall purple bunny rabbit with wings told her to bring into this world fourteen children, provide them with no means of support, deny them of anyone acting as a father figure, and to have their embryos created through artificial insemination, that would be insane.

Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow Americans, and folks around the world, there ain’t no eight foot purple bunny rabbit with wings. Get over it!!!

The more we learn about this piss poor excuse for a human being who we should loathe to call “mother” for these children since she is hardly performing anything that resembles the traditional nurturing roll that is a part of the motherhood roll through out the animal kingdom and has only been questioned recently in human culture thanks to the hedonistic, me-me-me-me ethos where the morals we have held essential since the dawn of civilization can be overlooked for the sake of me-me-me-me. We are not supposed to be judgmental about woman having children out of wedlock with no visible father available or the whole notion of same sex marriage where sperm donors or surrogates can be used to introduce children into an unnatural and morally corrupt world.

The secular humanists’ world has turned all forms of morality upside down. The notions that have provided social stability for generations and have set the guidelines for raising children are routinely cast aside when conflicting with the individual ego’s craving for gratification in some other form full of psychologisms on the ready to justify such behavior. The world of secular humanists is governed by a sick perversion of Biblical wisdom, where The Bible teaches us, “Judge not lest ye be judged.” (Mathew: 7-1) the modern self-proclaimed progressives instead moralize, “Who are we to judge?” as if the act of judging the behavior of others (as long as it conforms to their perverse values system) is wrong. The biblical reference reminds us that there is an ultimate judge and that we should be cautious in how we judge others as they might do the same to us.

Behavior that hurts and tortures the most helpless among us, in the Suleman case, babies demands our outcry. While few will ever have the opportunity to influence this moral tragedy directly, we must use this tragedy as a learning experience to see just how far the lack of morality, the decadence of our mass media culture, and the “me” culture being played out to its furthest extreme can ruin human lives. Further, that this loathsome bitch has sought at every opportunity to exploit the horrors she has brought forth into this world makes this whole situation take on an even more horrible color.

What we know is disturbing, Ms. Suleman has been actively shopping her story opportunities to be interviewed for pay in formats which give her the ultimate chance to exploit her story. She refused a compassionate and godly offer to provide 24 x 7 childcare help and skilled nursing for one year from the charitable organization, “Angels in Waiting” as this helping organization would have no part in enabling Suleman’s desire to have them facilitate being part of a reality TV production about her futile attempts to raise fourteen children drawing the ire of publicity craving pop lawyer, Gloria Aldred, a supporter of the organization who is now demanding local authorities promptly investigate Suleman’s ability to care for the children. One could argue that Gloria Aldred’s involvement alone in any situation is the definition of a media circus as her basic instinct is to sniff out those spectacles that afford her the maximum face time being interviewed on the morning fluff news circuit and cable news outlets.

Further evidence that Suleman is a vain, evil person not some poor pitiful nut could clearly be seen when once again exploiting her situation by turning to her enablers in the gossip oriented media when she was staged with her mother on an interview program. Her mother, who she blamed for making her not feel wanted as the basis for her emotional need to have a big family where she could have lots of children to love and who would in turn return her love, could barely get a word in edgewise as Octo-robo-pussy essentially shouted down every attempt her mother made to communicate. There has never been an instance of anything involving Nadya Suleman that isn’t dominated by me-me-me-me.

As shocking as the entire octoplet plus six drama is witnessing a publicity-staved low-life nothing trying to pull all the media ropes to exploit her situation while having the public pick up the enormous cost of caring for the victimized children running up a sum in the millions for the hospital care alone providing intensive care for children born so early, no one should be surprised at the shameful manner the media has framed this story. The real story is the plight of her six existing children already caught in a living hell and the future for the octoplets who will face an impossible situation when and if discharged to Nadya Suleman’s care. The most recent shocker was a frantic 911 call placed by Ms. Suleman who was freaking out reporting one of her six children missing threatening suicide and generally going nuts for the 911 dispatcher when the child, in fact, had only gone on a walk with its grandmother. The Suleman household has been the source of many calls to 911, some initiated by fearful neighbors concerned about what appeared to be going on in the grandparents’ tiny three bedroom house which serves like a dreadful puppy mill or crowded concentration camp for children. In addition to the horrible plight of these doomed special needs children, the media is also being incredibly lax in what should be just a matter of professional due-diligence examining the role of her doctor, Michael Kamrava, who has been almost universally denounced by the medical profession for providing the medical treatments creating the high embryo count and assisting the hateful scheme’s completion. In a medium where the abortion debate has been settled long ago that abortion is an indisputable civil right for all women regardless of the fate of the budding human life destroyed even when incubated long enough to be a viable child at the time of abortion whose murder was supported by President Barack Obama who in his wicked amoral quasi-Marxist world outlook was more concerned of the legal implication of interfering with one aspect of the unlimited ability to terminate even late term fetuses, ones developed enough to be perhaps more viable babies than the premature Suleman infants, nothing is made of the practice routinely practiced of embryo selection when multiple buds of human life are implanted to reduced the number of possible births down to the single child most parents would normally desire. While in-vitro procedures have proven a godsend to thousands of infertile couples, this new biological technology provides a long list of ethical concerns which require careful sensitive deliberation, an act so commonly sacrificed in the name of science never defining the broader context determining the greater concerns involved in what new scientific discoveries entail. The power of the atom and guided missiles, after all, were first exploited to create weapons of enormous mass destruction before considering the possibilities of atomic power or mighty rockets sending men to the moon.

The media and the entertainment industry they are a part of have no need for ethics and morality. In the mass market world where the Culture of Me flourishes, the golden rule has always been, “If it feels good, do it.” Individual reward with no concern for its effect on others and unlimited hedonism form the basis of a decadent values starved way-of-life that is celebrated through out the media from gossip rags and infotainment programs like ‘Entertainment Tonight” and “Access Hollywood” to even what becomes news worthy in what are supposed to be hard news outlets. The cult of personality is further enhanced by the chit-chat drawn from guests on shows ranging from “The View’ to “Oprah’ to “David Letterman” where entertainers and publicity starved politicians are given free reign to assert their most extravagant vanities with no responsible hard-core traditional journalistic presence to hold them accountable.

Nadya Suleman is not the first person we’ve seen whose gross and extreme narcissism has lead to profound tragic consequences. The doctrine of the almighty self includes O.J. Simpson, so enamored with his star power but so full of some kind of insane rage that he could beat his wife to a pulp time and time again ultimately resulting in murdering her, almost decapitating her and brutally killing her companion. President Bill Clinton sought to have his way with women leading to a long story of bimbos and poor naïve souls coming forward with tales of being sexually exploited, the ultimate example of which was his preying upon a young White House subordinate, Monica Lewinsky. Former Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback tortured and murdered dogs as part of a gambling ring on dog fighting. The wife being discarded like a no longer wanted boy toy is the tale of two killers by the name of Peterson, Scott Peterson in California who murdered his near-term pregnant wife, Lacy, and Drew Peterson, the former cop who never saw a television camera he didn’t want to toy with, almost certainly killed his third and fourth wife having all the police forensic skills to know how to dispose of bodies without leaving a trace. How can anyone not be sickened by the wretched case of Casey Anthony who brutally murdered her three year old daughter, Caylee, attempting to create an elaborate cover up while she continued to party with her friends, get tattoos, and generally live it up being freed from the responsibility of raising a daughter.

While the Casey Anthony and Nadya Suleman cases may seem opposite on the surface as one involves murdering her one and only child while the other involves the irresponsible giving birth to fourteen children, these loathsome trash balls have much in common. First, neither one of them saw any purpose in having fathers play a roll in their children’s lives. Second both are serial liars capable of deceiving themselves into to believing their wretched behavior can be justified. Both are products of the “me” society which craves instant gratification, behavior without consequence, and a total inability to understand that being a parent is the ultimate responsibility.

In the months ahead, we will see these tragedies play out. Casey Anthony will surely be sentenced to life in prison for a vicious, premeditated murder possibly even the death penalty. While Michael Vick is doing hard time for his mistreatment of animals, it’s unlikely Nadya Suleman will face any criminal penalties for her gross irresponsible behavior and systematic unapologetic child abuse. Caylee Anthony died at the hands of an out of control mother, but what will be the fate of the Suleman children who face a miserable life doomed to be deprived of the simple basic needs every child so rightfully deserves.

It’s in the hand of the appropriate authorities in California. They must act swiftly and decisively to get the best care possible for these doomed children and find secure loving homes where they will have the greatest opportunity to have the kind of future all children should be able to enjoy in this bountiful culture.

At a time when things are tough all around and most of us are paying a dear price due to the current economic crisis and the government’s subsequent attempt to impose socialist concepts to reengineer the nations’ economic structure from top-to-bottom, do we really have time to worry about a situation like the Suleman case?

We’d darn well better. Every child’s life matters as every life is endowed by certain inalienable rights by his or her creator. Even the smallest among us has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our basic morality as Americans demand we speak out about how our society has run astray, the Suleman tragedy being a perfect case in point.

Manny and T.O: Such Irony!

Few athletes rile up the boo-birds like Manny Ramirez and Terrell Owens. Justifiably so, few players have the talent and ability to perform in the clutch they do; however, at what cost? In a sports culture where winning appears to be everything and fans pay dearly to bestow their admiration on their teams' top performers, teams coddle their boorish babies rather than confront them. The NFL has faced the embarrassment of several teams noted for the constant stream of players in trouble with the law like the Cincinnati Bengals. Baseball is still wiping the pie off its collective face for the steroids fiasco.
So far, we are not aware of either of these players being arrested for getting in trouble at notorious nightspots or being accused of using performance enhancing drugs. Perhaps if they were involved, it would be easier to discuss the blight they represent on their respective sports.
What Manny and T.O. have in common is their absolute selfishness and ability to completely disrupt their teams by creating scenes on the field, in the locker room, and in the media which becomes such a distraction, their teams pay the cost. Manny has "dogged it" so many times even refusing to play. T.O. has constantly badmouthed his players and coaches and created scenes getting into spats with anyone in his way. His on the field antics set the stage for Chad Johnson, another such jerk. Owens' conduct is so disruptive he's destroyed team chemistry and put his quarterbacks and coaches on thin ice everywhere he's played since Steve Young left the 49'ers.

Regardless, they have been paid handsomely right toward the top of their professions. The ability to score on the field means the ability to score in the bank accounts.
This winter a curious thing happened. Manny Ramirez thought he could name his terms a multi-year deal of well over $25 million a year. There were no interested teams except the Dodgers who would only offer two years. Ramirez and his agent would not budge. It looked like MLB was prepared to let him walk until the Dodgers were able to bring the irritating slugger to terms pretty much on the Dodgers terms. Joe Torre will be responsible for what "Manny being Manny" means in Los Angeles in 2009.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys had enough. Owner, Jerry Jones, who collects football players like a nine year old boy collects bobble heads and trading cards, the same Jerry Jones who defended his clubhouse atmosphere and dismissed the whole issue of toxic team chemistry, had to face reality. Just as Pacman Jones had no place, he finally realized as long as Terrell Owens was the catalyst of the team's dreadful chemistry, playoff wins are out of the picture. The cost will be steep for Dallas, a $9 million salary cap hit. In a case that finally a stroke of sanity realized perhaps 9 million down the drain is addition through subtraction at least will be poised to assess its current condition and move forward. The way the team performed poorly and showed such disunity in some of its most embarrassing defeats including the pounding they took from the Baltimore Ravens made it clear the 2008 Dallas Cowboys were not a contending team even though they still had a chance for post season play after that definitive loss.
It's a sad commentary on sports today where some of its greatest stars are some of its biggest assholes. In one respect, this is nothing new. Ty Cobb was one of the most irritating bastards in organized sports' history. Still, things have gotten much more out of control in the last couple decades. Some of this is a product of the explosion of sports media where ESPN runs three networks 24 hours a day and every major market has its regional networks. Gossip and embarrassing episodes spread like wildfire with cell phone cameras and the Internet. Jimmy Piersall, among others, had infamous meltdowns in their time.

Regardless, Manny Ramirez and Terrell Owens have "pushed the envelope' to the extent we have not witnessed before and until the last few months, have gotten away with it.

Maybe it's just the bad economy that makes people more aware of the value of where money is being spent, but for whatever reason, there seems to be less tolerance developing toward the spoiled brats of the NFL and MLB. Roger Goddell has been quick to suspend players who tangle with the law. Even Bud Selig is proving must more disciplined in today's reality.

The buck truly stops with the fans and how the owners perceive the extent to which our diminishing patience could hit them in the pocket through fewer fans in the stands and lower TV ratings both of which help them establish their income. While fans decry the miserable behavior of other teams bad boys, there's a chance to dismiss and defend the thugs on their home field as long as they score.
It's time to demand better. The NBA might be out of reach with the likes of Alan Iverson and Stephen Marbury being rewarded for their insanity. Baseball and the NFL are on notice. This sports fan was delighted with the prospect that the season could have begun with no takers on Manny Ramirez. Surely, T.O. will wind up somewhere. Perhaps the Oakland Raiders would be divine justice for both.

Ugly American: A Few Fries Short of a Happy Meal?

But can she pay her taxes error free?

Is there any question American society is getting stupider by leaps and bounds? Surely the wisdom of Octomom is in a class all by itself but here’s an episode of a Fort Pierce, Florida woman who deserves a very special ‘dumb shit’ award. Latreasa L. Goodman, 27 told 911 authorities that she paid for a 10 piece order of Chicken McNuggets but was later told that the Mickey D’s had run out.

She complained that she was refused a refund, that all sales are final. Nevertheless, she was offered a larger portion of other menu items for the same price. Demonstrating she was a few French fries short of a happy meal, Ms. Goodman became furious calling 911 three times to intervene on her behalf.

Local officials have since charged her with misuse of 911 service.

The world renowned fine dining facility indicated she should have received a refund and sent her a gift certificate for a free meal.

Do you want fries with that?

It’s not like she was an important judge or something who tied up Washington DC courts for taking his drycleaners to court for misplacing his trousers.

VIRUS INFECTION

Greetings esteemed readers. I apologize for not writing sooner such as my weekly Sprint Cup Preview, serving as a senior officer in the people's militia to lead the insurrection against the tyranny of Obama-nation, and to generally be the enlighted arbitrator of the truth, defender of logic, senior sports commentator for the Chesapeake region, and cultural affairs correspondent, my humble thoughts have not made it into print thanks to a malicious computer virus attack which absolutely wiped out the operating system on my trustworthy laptop. What appeared to be an email from a beloved nephew turned out to be an insanely corruptive virus which began as a virus alert, direct to some bogus anti-virus software site, shut down all kinds of tools including Task Manager, Display Properties, most of Control Panel, and just about anything else that could be used to clean up the mess.
As such, I have been relegated to the joys of virus eradication, several attempts at reinstalling windows in progressive degrees of installation from fix to major install (at least I didn't have to reformat the hard drive), then loading all kinds of software, moving files and directories, and all kinds of little tweaks. Aside from relocating "my documents" and installing that pain-in-the-ass iTunes and Quick Time players then having to reset the defaults to the proper media player, it looks like I'm almost finished. I was greatly relieved when I found my address book and previous emails all remained in good shape. Now stinking Outlook still needs some tweaking.
All this leads me to the conclusion that waterboarding would be a perfectly legitimate punishment for anyone creating a virus or purposely spreading viruses to others' computers.
What kind of sick, evil mind would create such things? Is this high-tech vandalism or something more sinister? I could see a mindset among anarchists (scum of the earth losers if there ever were ones) or terrorists who would gain some victory in trashing the communication tools of corporate America, but what about the viruses that are just designed to mess up just regular folks' machines? Are these alienated pimple faced nerds who are ignored by all the lovely girls in their class but they suffer from guilt fearing what they learned from mom and dad (if they have dads) that masturbation can cause horrible side effects like hair growing on their palms who might have been bullied one time too many? Are they just inexcusible shitheads? Are they actually created by folks who work for Norton and McAfee to make their cheesy products necessary? WHO KNOWS? STRAP 'EM TO THE BOARD AND BRING ON THE HOT SALT WATER.
There is nothing acceptible about their behavior and they deserve multiple levels of pain in direct proportion to the problems they've caused others, the BASTARDS.

"All I Wanted Was Children" The California Octuplet Tragedy

The Octuplet Fiasco: The Mother Speaks, “All I Wanted Was Children”

Friday morning gave the world its first glimpse of the irresponsible, deranged, and stupid woman, Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to octuplets while already having six children none of whom have a known father all produced by a sperm donor through invitro implantation.

Watch this shocking interview from the Today Show at the following link:
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/29038814/

The accompanying article is also worth reading as it gives significant background on this walking disaster.

Her interview with NBC personality, Ann Curry, plays out as a sickly soap opera. It was hard not to think of the mother-zombies of the Texas cult were young girls were rounded up as breeding stock for the pleasures of the male compound members, who looked glassy-eyed and robotic as they spoke in a soft monotone justifying their behavior as they too were engaged in a bizarre and disturbing mutation of motherhood. From her first words, the world saw a woman who did not have the emotional composure of a rational thirty three year old adult. A unifying theme that is not uncommon in today’s world is that she only sees the world through her own terms, her own needs, her own wants, and her own ability to twist the rational and moral to fit her sickly desires.

Ms. Suleman’s reasoning goes something like this. Describing her choice as “unconventional,” she felt neglected as a child being a single child she did not have the companionship of other siblings and that made her feel bad. In her own words speaking to Ann Curry of NBC News:

“Feeling of self and identity,” Suleman replied. “I didn't feel as though, when I was a child, I had much control of my environment. I felt powerless. And that gave me a sense of predictability. Reflecting back on my childhood, I know it wasn't functional. It was pretty dysfunctional, and whose isn't?”

Should we take that as a confession she’s too crazy to be a responsible mother? Why not?

While we might be quick to stereotype this idiot, she is thirty three years old and is college educated! This is not something that can be blamed on youthful immaturity. In her own demented way, this was her plan. This is what she wanted. She feels she is capable of being a good mother and her amazing compassion will work miracles for all fourteen children!

Consider this directly from the NBC interview:

“People feel, you know, this woman is being completely irresponsible and selfish to bring these children in the world without a clear source of income and enough help to raise them,” Curry told Nadya Suleman in a segment that aired Friday on TODAY. “The world outside is saying, ‘What are you doing?’ ”

“I know I'll be able to afford them when I'm done with my schooling,” the 33-year-old single mom replied. Calm, poised and articulate in the glare of the media spotlight, Suleman added: “If I was just sitting down watching TV and not being as determined as I am to succeed and provide a better future for my children, I believe that would be considered, to a certain degree, selfish.”

How clear her egocentric point-of-view and inability to see the consequences of her behavior are in these words. She thinks that she alone, her own feelings, is what will make life good for these doomed children. She doesn’t see the obvious cruel and horrible conditions that these children will have forced upon them with no escape. Not a single one of these kids will have his or her own living space. None of these kids will have the guidance of a father and will receive only a fraction of the attention a normal child would receive from his or her mom, but we question what quality of attention such a delusional mother could provide in the first place?

What kind of moral and personal guidance will be available for these retched kids? Who can attend to them in a substantial way in their moment of need? How can they develop any sense of individuality? For any of these poor children to have the nurturing environment allowing them to become well-adjusted responsible adults does not exist. Maybe a couple of them will turn out okay. There’s no denying the power of the human spirit, but the deck is stacked against them in ways we can hardly begin to understand.

Also lost in all the hoopla is this sickly, depraved idiot is living off disability income from the State of California! If she’s not well enough to work, she can handle the duties of fourteen children. This is a sick woman. Fourteen children all under the age of eight years old, how can anyone think that is acceptable.

As her background and quotes add up, the pure insanity of her situation explodes before the viewer’s eyes.

Her background was being employed at a state mental health facility from 1997-2006 injuring her back in a 2006 riot there. Hmm, doesn’t lifting and dealing with children put a lot of additional sprain on one’s back? How disabled is she? We can’t help but asking as she has such a deeply ingrained sense of entitlement to begin with.

Insisting she is a good mother she affirmed with pride:

All I wanted was children. I wanted to be a mom. That's all I ever wanted in my life. I love my children.”

She added: (again from the Curry interview)

“I'm providing myself to my children. I'm loving them unconditionally, accepting them unconditionally,” she told Curry. “Everything I do, I'll stop my life for them and be present with them. And hold them. And be with them. And how many parents do that? I'm sure there are many that do, but many don't. And that's unfortunate. That is selfish.”

Talk about the “audacity of hope,” she sets herself up as more dedicated than most parents. WHOA!

She thinks the good will of her church and her community will come forward to help her. What kind of retched sense of entitlement is that? Her value system is the “Me” generation played out to its worst extreme coupled with the ethos of a victim’s society and sense of entitlement.

What’s lost in this whole mess are two things: the children and the medical professionals who enabled this to happen. The children are doomed. They have a mother without a job living with her parents who don’t have the means to support their daughter and six children much less fourteen. Any responsible family with just one or two children knows the challenges of parenthood even in traditional two parent families juggling careers, budgets, and other commitments to give their kids the best upbringing to prepare them for a successful future in the world. Taking care of children is not cheap. We’ve documented the work of Diane Auer Jones, for instance, who has thoroughly laid out the challenges families face trying to help pay their kids through college. For starters, support for a college education will not be an option for any of these fourteen kids. Under the best circumstances, if only three or four of them would be college bound, the ability to borrow money to assist in their expenses would be out of reach. Parents being able to provide for their kids’ college education is the optimal degree of parental support. However, fourteen children, think of that. Think of what kind of living environment even parents with significant wealth could provide. How many kids would have to share bedrooms, bathrooms, and living space? Even a mansion on a farm might seem too cramped!

More importantly, each child is his or her own individual with his or her own needs, challenges, problems, and conflicts. Each child needs to be properly washed, dressed, and fed, prepared for school, and adequately supervised. Ask any teacher how much attention it takes just to supervise a group of children for the duration of one class period much less the amount of time elementary school teachers spend with their students where teachers have the resources and support of an entire school behind them.

Even with a staff of nannies and care providers, these poor children’s lives will be living hell starved for adequate attention and growing space. To think that they will be able to grow up as well adjusted, emotionally stable human beings is all but an impossible proposition.

Where’s the money going to come from to provide even minimal support? Right now, the mother is attempting to exploit the media through exclusive interviews, book deals, and any other means she can sell her story asking for millions. Let’s be real, while this story brings forth a lot of attention for how shameful and irresponsible it is and our natural compassion for the kids, how much more does the public need or want to know beyond what she has already presented in her Today Show interview? How much beyond the morbid sensation of passing by the scene of an accident does the public have for a person no one in his or her right mind could possibly identify with or feel any sympathy for the situation she has brought on herself?

This is a case about responsibility and justice. We’ve illustrated the mother’s irresponsibility, but how will she be held accountable for the millions of dollars it will cost to provide for her children. Yes, millions, as they say, “You do the math!” We believe while no criminal statutes apply to her behavior, she is intellectually, morally, and psychologically unfit to care for children. The children must be removed from her care. Foster care is living hell for children as there is an extreme lack of appropriate parents who can provide such help. We must deal with a very somber reality check here. These poor children would be much better provided for in an orphanage than with an insane mother leaching off her parents in a tiny dwelling. We’d pray that these kids are healthy and could be adopted by responsible loving parents.

The other obvious truth about this tragedy is that no matter how insane this horrible woman is, she could not have brought this situation upon herself without the support and efforts of grotesquely irresponsible medical professionals who have created a public health tragedy as fourteen children living together under one house all so close in age without the ability for responsible support cannot be justified on any moral or professional grounds. The State of California must investigate all aspects of this case to the fullest. They and the medical profession must take appropriate legal and disciplinary action against everyone involved in the decision making process that caused this horrible situation.

There is a final answer to this problem. One that we have heard many times before and have often laughed at as it has been the far reaching explanation for everything that’s wrong with our world today. Society is to blame!

Before we laugh this off, what kind of social environment, what lack of proper education, upbringing, and moral guidance could make a situation like this even thinkable. While we hold the idiot mother responsible for her stupid and evil behavior, lots of things happened that allowed her to become the walking disaster she is. Between the doctors who worked with her, any social service agents who attended to her and her parents, so many have played enabler in this situation the responsibility falls on many hands, but none of this takes away the blame that must fall on Nadya Suleman and the primary care physicians who enabled this horrible human tragedy to become reality.

Finally, once again, we challenge those who approach this immoral and disgusting tragedy with their, “Who are we to judge?” amorality. There is no responsible justification for what has happened here. Any person who does not feel intense revulsion over a situation as horrible as the Suleman litter reveals has some serious issues of his or her own that helps feed the kind of social conditions that make such moral catastrophes possible. We extend the blame to each and every person who harbors that kind of lack of conviction and cowardice responsible as well as surely people like this are the architects of the moral-free environment where a disturbed and idiotic person can find reinforcement for such horrible decisions.

Chris Matthews Shoots Off Mouth Like Cheep Handgun Claiming Chaney Caused 100,000 Deaths

When speaking of ultra-left wing extremist bias, one needs to go no further than MSNBC and to the extent their content bleeds over to their mothership, NBC news, to find the absolutely most extreme, most disrespectful, and totally off base examples of left wing extremism. Exhibit A is the man with the frosty long bangs and voice like an air raid siren, Chris Matthews, who just claimed on the Wednesday, February 4th airing of Hardball, “Well 100,000 people are dead now because he got it wrong about nuclear weapons before.” then added, “We have to remember that Dick Cheney was wrong in a way that was lethal. 100,000 people dead including 4,000 Americans are dead, something like 15,000 wounded because he was wrong.”

On the panel were also left wing cry-baby, the man with the persistent, “I just wet my pants” kind of irritated facial expression prone to sharp temper outbursts, David Corn, and Joan Walsh. another member of the journalistic chattering class.

It’s also interesting to note that in this discussion, Matthews also quoted Tom Brokaw who was once seen as a rather straight forward “main stream” journalist who is increasingly sounding more and more like his NBC brethren when he commented during the Obama inauguration of Dick Cheney, "He does seem like a character out of 'Dr. Strangelove.”

For a media figure who so conspicuously was fawning for Barack Obama from the very beginning given the real news of the day is the embarrassing “stimulus” bill crafted by Nancy Pelosi which every single Republican representative and eleven Democrats voted against loaded with pork barrel gems for every imaginable left wing cause-du-jour including money to the Hollywood film making industry, and Obama’s continuing parade of nominees for high office who are revealed to have problems with paying taxes or significant ethical conflicts of interests despite Obama’s campaign assurances that his administration would set a new tone for Washington, what’s a guy like Matthews to do?

Obviously, last night, rather than try to make sense of the current mess of Obama’s embarrassing, though not surprising, start, revert to what was nightly fodder for eight long years of contast BS, Bush-Cheney Derangement Syndrome.

Here’s the full text of the panel discussion from the Wednesday, February 4th edition of Hardball courtesy of News Busters.

Joe Francis Arrested Again

Joe Francis is a LOSER who had made a fortune making porn flicks luring every day girls to take their clothes of in public, flash their breasts or butts, to be woven into a sick voyeur's dream in his "Girls Gone Wild" video series.

The problem is, along with many others, Mr. Francis is a tax cheat who is accused of posting $20 million in false business expenses. More details from the A/P. Well, he must have been out late making his naughty films if he couldn't show up for court five hours late for his trial.

He is now on house arrest.

It seems ironic he should be facing such legal problems. Have any of the Obama appointees in tax trouble paid any penalties? Given, porno priest, Larry Flynt, is a big supporter of liberal causes and Francis behaves much like fellows like Tom Daschle, he might have a bright future in the Obama administration if some girl's father, boyfriend, or husband doesn't shoot him first.
Want to bet he's lining up talk show gigs to whine about how he's being picked on by the law again. He and Blago would make quite a pair!

Special Election Eve Edition: ESPN Meltdown

Is there any excuse, any excuse at at for Chris Berman who likes to go by "Boomer" but like everything else he does, his nickname is a rip off of more noteworthy Boomer's like Boomer Esiason who is not only a distinguished retired quarterback, excellent Football analyst and dedicated humanitarian.

Okay, he also goes by "The Swami" when making football predictions. He'll never get any love in the city he dubs "The Big Crabcake" as he seems to go out of the way to include the Ravens in his picks, and the Ravens are always the loser in his picks. This week it's two down to Cleveland.

So here comes the election and while most of us turn to sports to help escape all the election baloney, those watching the Redskins hosting the Steelers Monday night will be treated to the baritone blowhard interviews with John "King of Pain" McCain and Barack "Back-Back-Back-Back" Obama. Surely, he'll be looking for some angle to use the Presidential candidates as foils for his schtick.
To think, Berman is not the most obnoxious figure to evolve out of the Bristol barnyard. There's always his former colleague Keith Olbermann, the "worst person in the world."

Email Idiocy: False Bill Cosby Write-In Campaign

Do you get emails like these? Today it’s Bill Cosby. Yesterday it might have been Andy Rooney, John Riggins, Robin Williams or some other figure known for being outspoken. Just as there are tons of stale old jokes that have been in circulation for many years to the point where between seeing the same old same old so often and that in the era of political correctness, jokes just aren’t funny anymore. It seems like blondes, rednecks, and Sarah Palin are the only safe targets lest the PC Police go into action. Enough already!

Of course, these pages of jokes are often attributed to George Carlin, Robin Williams, or maybe even Johnny Carson though none of them represent the kind of humor these guys would expose.

This Cosby fraud is more disturbing though. It represents reactionary chest pounding at its worst. It appeals to the absolute worst of a certain sub-element of a strain of conservative thinking and is horrifying in both its pretense and intolerance. Somehow, falsely attributing such low-life gutter thinking to a figure like Bill Cosby is supposed to give it credibility. Having seen so many of these, they almost seem to be coming from the same source. Wouldn’t it be great if there were some way to backwards engineer the email to get to its source, but the scoundrels who originate this kind of hatred seem to be hopelessly cloaked in cyberspace?

This reflects the same mentality of the absolute worst of talk radio as some of these might represent the same kinds of talking points radical idiots like Michael Savage might expose. It’s white trash “yokelism” and pure bigoted intolerance at its most obvious. What a horrible insult to Bill Cosby who has broken with the flow with his tough love approach to the dreadful issues facing a huge number of African-American citizens who have never been able to find their way into the American good life.

Conservatives are not hateful people. Conservatives believe in the strength and integrity of the individual, where the Constitution prevails, and each person rather than big institutions really matters. Conservatives tend to be Patriotic believing in the fundamental goodness of America and the potential of each citizen. This “Cosby” diatribe is full of self-flattering hatred and anger. Though some of the issues raised are surely legitimate, the tone and outlook on humanity reflected in the desired results is bigotry unmasked.

It’s time we catch up with the technology at our fingertips and hold EVERYONE responsible for spreading falsehoods, rumors, and other garbage responsible for their behavior if the originators can ever be found. There are viruses that actually do harm to our computers and their software, but then there are the idiot emails that waste our time and perpetuate idiocy.

Read this. Be on the lookout for such garbage and perhaps the folks who start these email chains can be outed.

Here’s the poop. (We mean that quite literally.)

Bill Cosby

Enough said? This is pure trash. Yet this kind of stuff flows around the email flow forwarded to forwarded to forwarded endlessly. This crap stops at this computer, and we bounce back. Who could possibly imagine a good man like Bill Cosby would ever express thoughts like this. How shameful it is to attribute such reactionary views to a truly wonderful America.

Florida Congressman Takes Obama Style Prejudice Against Small Town America as Represented by Sarah Palin to a New Low

Florida AS if Obama's idiotic remarks about small town people clinging to guns and religion out of bitterness, here's some comments that take that mentaility to an even worse extreme. Congressman, Alcee Hastings, has taken hate rhetoric in the 2008 campaign to a new low in warning blacks and jews to beware of Sarah Palin. The following statement is hate rhetoric plain and simple and cannot be tolerated, period.

“anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”

Cyber Insanity Out of Control

Cyberspace Creates a New Breed of Criminal: A Convenient Tool For the Radical Left

Last week the news broke that Sarah Palin’s personal email had been hacked apparently as investigators are turning up by the son of a prominent democrat. Now, talk show host Bill O’Reilly who was most outspoken on that those responsible for this crime must be prosecuted has had his site hacked with personal information about his subscribers published.

http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=1958

Just how low does it go and what does this reflect of the mentality of those who would commit such crimes against decent American people especially given it goes beyond public figures like Ms. Palin and Mr. O’Reilly to everyday people who enjoy Bill O’Reilly’s material?

Computer hacking is an extremely serious crime that all citizens must treat as such. How does it differ from “grand theft” or “breaking and entering” for instance? There is no difference between stealing electronic data from a person as ones’ physical property. Likewise, given how much of a person’s financial records are on line, the cases of identity theft, charging up a huge balance on a person’s credit, or obtaining confidential information in a person’s or company’s procession it theft, pure and simple. Why should it be seen any different because a new medium is involved.

What is so disturbing about the Sarah Palin email hacking is how casually the news media treated the case and how much more interest there seemed to be that the chance existed their might be instances where she used her personal account to do state’s business. Hardly a news report went by without dropping the hint that perhaps that was going on and when Democratic surrogates for the Obama campaign were asked to comment, they couldn’t wait to make some comment about, “Well, we’ll just have to see what’s in those emails before we pass judgment on this!”

In other words, are they suggesting that if we assumed she did use her email for state’s business to keep it out of the state record, that would justify someone taking it upon himself to hack into her account to find out? Given that the radical left has become a culture where the ends justify the means surely some notion of cyber vigilantism would be just fine with them.

Email and the Internet have afforded our culture with a wealth of new possibilities, ways to share information and communicate in ways we never could have imagined the last time baseball’s post season came around without the New York Yankees present. The problem is we have the technology before all the ethical, moral, and legal issues have been fully conceptualized.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of left-wing extremists and anarchists who have no problem with using their knowledge of technology to destroy others, their reputations, and their financial security. There are also common criminals with technology skills and the psychologically impaired cyber thrill seeker who engages in this kind of treachery as well. They are all criminals. Their crimes are VERY serious. Their punishments must be severe including time in jail, monitoring of their on-line usage, and possible probation terms that would forbid them from using technological equipment from which they could inflict their chaos as well.

Our culture has gone through an incredible technology revolution in the past decade plus. What email and internet has provided us could be every bit as revolutionary as when Guttenberg invented the printing press. Just as the printed word made reading materials available to the masses and helped create the need for universal literacy which helped transform society to where the middle class prevailed, we’re only a few years into the cyber age where the possibilities are both fascinating and horrifying.

In a world where so few seem to have firm moral grounding and adhere to a rational and moral system of values, in this world of the “Me” generation and instant gratification, the task of making sure our technology advances serve the higher purposes and we don’t continue to see what’s happened with Sarah Palin’s email or Bill O’Reilly’s website will be assured.

There is one more aspect to this subject that should have every American concerned, cyber terrorism. If just a bunch of idiotic kids can do what they did to these two public figures, imagine what the Islamic extremists could do on a much grander scale.
