Special Interest Alliance Between Drug Companies and SEIU Set to Run Ads to Hault Anti-Government Health Plan Momentum

Don’t Be Fooled: Pro Obama Forces Ready to Launch $12 Million Initial Ad Blitz to Push Government Health Care Takeover

Here’s the latest from Politico. While President Obama accuses everyday citizens especially senior citizens fearful of losing health care of being pawns of special interests, look at who is shelling out the big bucks to fund this ad campaign. Sure SEIU is part of the coalition but low and behold so is PhRMA, a group representing the pharmaceutical companies. They will be identified as Americans for Stable Quality Care but their agenda provides for anything else but just that. The demon is in the details. Pay careful attention to the small print on who is paying for ads before considering the content presented as Madison Avenue and the media industry is well-practiced at the art of deception and illusion.

Their goal is specifically to provide a counterweight to the huge boost defeating government controlled health care has suffered from the power of grassroots involvement in Town Hall meetings. Look for these concerned citizens to be viciously mischaracterized and discredited in both overt and sneaky ways.

PhRMA stands to spend over $150 million to change public perception particularly in areas represented by the so-called “Blue Dogs” within the Democratic Party.

The theme of the ads reportedly will be “”What Reform Means to You.” Here’s what the text of such ads might include delivered by a smooth fatherly voice, “What DOES health insurance reform mean for you? It means you can’t be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition, or dropped if you get sick. It means putting health-care decisions in the hands of you and your doctor. It means lower costs, a cap on out-of-pocket expenses, tough new rules to cut waste and red tape, and a focus on PREVENTING illness before it strikes. So what does health insurance reform really mean? Quality, affordable care you can count on.”

Don’t be fooled.
