Make a Wish

Never argue with a kid who knows his or her stuff on sports. You can bet whatever that kid's passion is, he or she will know all the details of what his or her favorite team has done recently right down to every last stat on a player's baseball card.

We just saw a lovely story on SpeedTV where a young kid from Pittsburgh was granted a wish to serve as a NASCAR reporter at last week's All Star race in Charlotte. This happy-go-lucky red-headed kid interviewed most of the major drivers, some crew chiefs, and sports media figures with more enthusiasm and insight than many real professionals, but even more special was to see this stricken child just loving life fulfilling a dream come true.

The Make a Wish Foundation works with volunteers to make wishes come true for children with terminal illnesses. Athletes and entertainers kindly volunteer to help this special children enjoy a very special gift.

Here's a link to the foundation's website. Check it out. It will warm your heart!!!

We salute young Zack and pray for his health and happiness. This young fellow asked a hot question in the NASCAR press booth of Jeff Gordon, when he might consider retirement. He was also right on the money questioning Tony Eury Jr.

Here's to Fox and Speed for helping Zack realize his dream. His enthusiasm was so inspiring.
