More Tiller Postmortem
Radically left women's groups who believe unrestricted abortion is an absolute right and the mainstream news media is on an all-out blitzkrieg against all who have assertively condemned late term abortions and have singled out Kansas doctor, George Tiller, for his conduct in making the procedure most readily available. To that end, notable media figures and politicians who are outspoken anti-abortion advocates are suffering a widespread smear campaign suggesting their responsibility for Dr. Tiller's muder.
We posted the following on Sunday night, 7:58 PM right after the entire country got through the Sunday night news cycle, the first to report late term abortionist and outspoken advocate for unrestricted abortion, George Tiller, was viciously murdered in his local church while serving as an usher in that church.
Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Newt Gingrich, among others, will be targeted for their rhetoric directed against Tiller’s activities. In the committed left-wing perspective of the mainstream media, such figures will be prosecuted and convicted in the media circus as accessories to this murder.

As the coverage of Tiller's murder spread throughout the news Monday, the usual suspects: The New York Times, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, and others following their lead sprung into action going far beyond the arrested suspect assigning blame to the figures we predicted they would. Left-wing blogs went wild posting vicious insinuation against familiar conservative commentators including Markos Moulitsas, Daily KOS founder, who posted,
Who'll be the next target of O'Reilly's and Beck's ire to get gunned down by domestic conservative terrorist?
Naturally, The Huffington Post, would not be outdone with postings with titles like, Tiller Murder: Ann Coulter's Happy Day? On issues like these, the distinction between the content of the mainstream media which claims to report the news honestly and opinion-oriented left wing websites like MoveOn.org, DailyKOS, and Huffington Post is becoming fuzier with each major issue that arises particularly where conservative figures can be attacked.
The response by the left-wing, pro-Abortion media has not been surprising; however, finding scapegoats for behavior that belongs to one man, the killer himself, is dangerous, disgusting, and reflects so powerfully on the moral bankruptcy we have been maintaining is a central feature of the modern, so-called progressive movement, in the United States and other seemingly advanced cultures.
Few columns capture the self-infatuated, self-righteous finger pointing mentality endemic in the far-left media than today’s (June 4, 2009) column in the Washington Post, “Why I Turned Down O’Reilly” by Mary Alice Carr, vice president of communications for NARAL Pro-Choice New York.
In her column not only does she trash the popular nightly talk show polemicist, but also asserts her sense of personal moral superiority in how she frames her past encounters with O’Reilly to lay the ground for her vicious assertions that not only argue O’Reilly served to encourage Tiller’s assassination but also attempted to suggest his motives and inner feelings about this horrendous murder typical of the ad hominem attacks and attempts to cast false assertions for the purpose of discrediting those who are most outspoken against the extreme secular amoral civilization they support.

O'Reilly is being incredibly disingenuous when he claims that he bears no responsibility for others' actions in the killing of Dr. George Tiller on Sunday. When you tell an audience of millions over and over again that someone is an executioner, you cannot feign surprise when someone executes that person.
O'Reilly knew that people wanted Tiller dead, and he knew full well that many of those people were avid viewers of his show. Still, he fanned the flames….. I can only imagine what type of feedback O'Reilly receives. He knows that his words incite violence.
O'Reilly had the opportunity to apologize for his words, and he didn't. He had the opportunity to say that this tragic outcome was something about which he felt sorry. He didn't. When restraint and perspective were called for, he fanned the flames higher.
Because if the murder of a man in a house of worship wasn't enough to make Bill O'Reilly repent, what hope did I have?
The above passages from Ms. Carr’s column illustrate the fallacies and agenda of the prevailing radical left of today. She attributes motives and causes and effects where there are none. In personifying this act of anti-abortion justified terrorism by putting Bill O’Reilly’s face on it, she is directing attention away from the behavior of the two people who matter, Dr. Tiller and his killer.
We cannot allow Dr. George Tiller to become a martyr for things he does not deserve calling him a champion of women’s health and women’s rights when his behavior focused on making readily available a procedure most Americans when fully aware of what is being done would consider baby killing—late term abortions past 21 weeks, five months into pregnancy into the time when premature infants are routinely delivered and nurtured to become healthy human beings like all the rest of us.
Nothing Right Minded Fellow has written discusses any aspect of the abortion controversy dealing with other aspects of the abortion debate; however, we are very clear on the destruction of fully formed little humans for whom Doctors have taken an oath which compels them to “never do harm.”
The more the public knows about the reproductive cycle and at what stages in fetal development successful birth is possible, the more distressing the practice of late term abortion becomes unless it is in the very rare and catastrophic instance where permanent harm or death of the mother could result. As ultrasound technology becomes more advanced, we get a clearer view of early human life as never made possible before. We see not a collection of organic materials but a true living life form.
Parenthood is the ultimate responsibility and no one should be compelled to be a parent who is not ready, willing, and able to assume such responsibility but there must be options that do not involve murdering viable fetuses, let’s be clear, undelivered babies. Society must provide ways unwilling mothers can relinquish their babies and be treated in a supportive, thoughtful manner through the final stages of pregnancy and dealing with all related emotional and health issues recognizing behavior has consequences and that she might have to endure some extraordinary circumstances for the sake of protecting a human life. We can give unintended mothers all kinds of options to give them a second chance, but a terminated fetus, a baby-in-waiting, has no second chances and will never have the opportunity to make a choice of any kind.
When the issues of late term abortion are clearly presented with all the consequences and issues are defined, all arguments supporting the termination of life seem cruel, selfish, and for many, absolutely immoral. Opponents do not want these issues discussed in a rational, clear manner so they resort to the classic techniques of attempting to dirty and discredit any voice of reason who’d provide convincing reasoning.
Tying those who oppose late term abortion assertively to being complicit in the assassination, the act of terror, against Dr. George Tiller is unjustified and out of order. Let this issue be presented with all possible pros and cons from both sides of the issue and see who prevails.
The criminal justice system in Kansas will take care of justice for the killer and should investigate all associations this murderer might have had who might have contributed to his unforgivable crime. That he might have watched “The O’Reilly Factor” or watched or listened to any of the well-known critics of late term abortion is irrelevant. Single out those who would condone murder by specific word and deed, and cut the garbage making obscene assertions aimed at demonizing those with critical views.
The Tiller assassination brings clearly into focus that on the radical extremes of both sides of the abortion issue are passions, beliefs, and behaviors that have no place in a humane, tolerant, intellectually-mature culture.
