Citizenship 101: Coming back at you Baracko!!!
The extent of arrogance and disregard for any disagreement reached a new high as when yesterday, Thursday, December 7, 2010, Barack Obama suggested:
"Every American, every elected official can do their part. Now is not the time for partisanship, it is the time for citizenship. That is what it means to be strong in the face of danger."
Okay fine, but what’s at issue in large part is that the anti-terrorism agents responsible for keeping America safe from terrorist attacks were ineffective in thwarting a terrorist bomber attempting to detonate a bomb on an international airliner approaching its landing in Detroit on Christmas day.
Who in their right mind could simply nod and smile accepting Homeland Security chief’s notion that the system worked when she first addressed the issue. After seeing the administration attempt to make discussion of terrorism a politically correct sanitized issue where terms of terror, Radical Islam, and other realistic descriptive language are not appropriate but instead the substantial discussion of the issue would be reduced to a lot of intellectual fluff, it is responsible to be critical.
To see the worst of the terrorists being removed from enemy combatant status to be tried in civilian court allowing them to make a public spectacle of their trials attempting to put America on trial likewise deserve severe criticism.
Our criticism of Barack Obama is specifically that he is not being strong in the face of danger and that part of citizenship is being vocal when out leaders our failing us.
The Obama administration is failing miserably.
Yesterday, the President committed to supervising the anti-terrorist efforts with greater care. He insisted his staff and administration will be accountable and all agency heads will establish accountability reviews. While these are good things, why weren’t these already job one to begin with?
The President went on to say, “They will report to me every 30 days and they will all be held accountable if they do not,” While this sounds good, what has been going on and how much has the door been left open allowing tight supervision to unravel.
Terrorist activity is up. Two major events have occurred in two months, the Fort Hood massacre and the Detroit airliner episode. On top of that, little has been made of the Little Rock, Arkansas recruiters who were murdered by an Islamic extremist earlier in the year.
Where jihadists see an opening and have the means, they will attack. Only the absolute commitment of all arms of government working to the fullest extent with complete public cooperation will prevent more ghastly attacks than those seen so far.
Proper citizenship requires blunt honesty. Acknowledging the Obama administration has failed miserably is an important first step.
Mr. Obama, the eyes of America are on you to produce. Deal with it.
