Mayfield Fails Another Test For Meth: His Statements Troubling

By the grace of God, we hope Jeremy Mayfield checks into a rehab center before he ever seriously thinks about climbing into a race car again as he has once again failed a drug test for meth.

In a story the driver attempts to make weirder and harder to believe, Mayfield has accused NASCAR of paying his stepmother to lie about witnessing his drug use.

Mayfield argued, “"I don't trust anything NASCAR does, anything Dr. David Black does, never have, never will," Mayfield told The Associated Press in a phone interview. Black is the administrator for NASCAR's drug-testing program.

"And they picked the wrong woman to use against me because that [expletive] is trash and has got nothing on me but lies."

Lisa Mayfield, his stepmother, has provided statement that she had seen the troubled former driver use the drug and prepare it.

Further showing conflict with his stepmother, Mayfield sneered, “"She's hated me since my dad got killed because I won't give her any money. She goes on the Internet and blogs lies about me and Shana [his wife] and everything you can imagine. She's broke, and I guess she got NASCAR to give her some money."

He has even gone so far as to suggest she was responsible for his father’s death which was ruled a suicide.

Clearly, these kinds of remarks are not helpful for Jeremy Mayfield making his case if he is serious about ever clearing his name. They sound delusional, vindictive, and far-fetched. Between fingering his stepmother and accusing NASCAR of lying, a clear sense of paranoia seems to cloud his psyche.

The NASCAR drivers want no part of Jeremy Mayfield and do not even want to think about the possibly that someone in the car traveling well over 150 mph next to them could be using a drug like meth.

It would appear almost impossible Jeremy Mayfield could ever race in a NASCAR sanctioned race again regardless of court rulings. To secure sponsorship and meet the other necessities to operate as a professional race driver simply won’t be forthcoming to a driver with such a toxic reputation.
